  1. GGs to everyone yesterday. I also probably won't be able to do much during the week, because, as Ruben mentioned, school. So Mahjong's probably out for me. Thankfully there's always an antidote to Sol problems: just pick Pot.
  2. Elizabeth in the corner with no life: Mitsuru can just sit at half screen and wait because no matter what Liz does, Liz loses. Yet Kaqn still wins, haha.
  3. GGs to people. Even the Sol player who taunted me after winning a really laggy round. Was the vxnine I saw earlier today the same that used to play #R online? Same character I think, so maybe. If so, GG, and it's too bad we only played one match. It has been far too long.
  4. I think you got them all (someone please correct me if I'm wrong). I personally almost never use j.S dj.S because there's just not much to do with it, and doing something like j.S dj.S VV is horrible if it gets blocked and really doesn't have much reward if it doesn't. I don't know of anything that uses SW as a fuzzy guard. I guess you might be able to hit with it and RC it against the taller characters, but in those cases a deep j.S would work better, and wouldn't cost 50% meter to boot.
  5. Hey there. 1. The obvious basics are stuff like 5K 2D bandit revolver (BR), or pretty much anything that ends in sweep and gets a knockdown. You just have to be close enough to BR to work, and it is character dependent. Air combos usually go j.S JC j.S j.H VV kick or involve getting to Clean Hit Sidewinder (CLSW) somehow, usually via j.S JC j.H CLSW, with a followup sj.SH VV kick as a simple finisher. Also, pretty much anything that gets you to Sidewinder and still lets you get a knockdown off of BR or VV is good. But the combo will change a little depending on where you are on the screen, so it's hard to just give a list. For example, wild throw (WT), j.S CLSW, 2H JC j.S CLSW, neutral jump j.S CLSW, BR is pretty standard, but you need to switch the first j.S for a running j.D CLSW or 2H JC j.D CLSW if you're throwing out of the corner. It also changes depending on the character. It's also really a good idea to work on stuff you can hit confirm. 5K(1) 5S© is good because you can late cancel close 5S, which lets you confirm to 2D BR if it hits, or if it's blocked go for 5H/6P/late 2D to fish for counter hits or run up WT. Similarly, it's good to start a lot of stuff with 2P, which by itself gives you frame advantage for WT, or you can gatling to 2K 5S© and hit confirm from there. Running 2P then either WT or 2K 2H is also useful because 2K 2H can be hit confirmed to Grand Viper (GV). Just make sure you're close enough. 2P 6P is also very useful because there's a small gap so 6P will counterhit if your opponent is poking, and you can late cancel 6P as well. 2. I generally like to use safe j.S or j.H oki. Properly timed, there's nothing an opponent can do about it, and it gives frame advantage to enforce mix ups. I see a lot of people running up and doing 2P on oki, which I don't think is very useful because I've fought too many people with good wake up throw timing, so I can't really recommend it. You can also do an empty jump/early jump into a low 2K or go for an air dash j.SH/j.SD just before you land. I usually only go for this after BR knockdowns because that gives the most time and makes it closer to a true meaty. A lot of people like to try and throw Sol on wake up to prevent jump in 2K, and this can usually be dealt with by a low airdash j.PKD, which combos into clean Fafnir mid screen (this probably won't be worthwhile in +R) or 2H JC j.S/j.H/j.D CLSW in the corner. You can also fuzzy guard a few characters (like Eddie) with running jump, deep j.S, JC, immediate j.D, CLSW. The timing can take some time to get down, though, and if you miss you are pretty vulnerable afterwards. 3. Grand Viper is very important. It's his best way to get meterless damage off of lows. I guess Sidewinder is technically more important, but GV is very good and Sol needs it. And yes, it is entirely possible to get both down on pad; I can do both consistently. Hope that helps!
  6. I will probably be able to make it tomorrow. I'm down for Mahjong as well, although someone might need to remind me how to play as it has been a while. Also, En vs the Kliff army.
  7. Lows, usually. You play Baiken, right? 2K and 2D are your friend (but especially 2K). Of course, Anji does have a low autoguard, but it's good to make him pick between low and mid/high. GGs to everyone I played yesterday. It was fun dropping all my combos.
  8. PSN: Dropped_Inputs Location: Arizona Characters: Sol, Baiken Probably will only be on at night, and not very often at that. =/
  9. Are you referring to the FC ones off of j.B? If so, yeah, I've seen some older variants -- not sure about the new combos specifically. The ones I saw seemed like they'd actually be easier on a lot of characters, and do more damage. Still not going to save her from being bad, though. Which is a shame, since I have more fun playing her than Chie most of the time. EDIT: Just watched that recent combo movie. Maybe if someone had the execution to truly turn her into a "one touch = death" character, that might save her. Maybe.
  10. GGs to everyone yesterday. And thanks for hosting, Ruben.
  11. Thanks for your work on this, Final Ultima. Only change that makes me sad is 90% proration on 2D, but with all the other buffs, I can't really complain. Also, if Bandit Bringer clean hits and doesn't force prorate, I can see that leading to some big damage combos.

  13. GGs Erik. I thought you were doing really well against Teddie at first. I think I was doing all right against him as well, considering that I'm still learning the matchup. So, Ruben's today? What time?
  14. Yeah, my "I didn't do very well" is something of an understatement. Damn angels in the 2nd room was usually what got me killed, or at least mostly killed. The rest of the level at least had a pattern to it.
  15. I have done zero challenge 30s. I have tried doing speed runs through Cave Story's Hell level, but I never did very well. Watching people do speed runs with minimum hp and equips far faster than I could ever do it with max hp/equips is just . Anyway, PCP today some time after noon? How late are you guys planning on staying there? I need to go down to ASU's library anyway so I was planning on stopping by, but I'm not sure when I'll be able to get there.
  16. Wait, GG tomorrow? Is this at PCP or...?

  18. No +R Hazbat makes me sad. Not having +R yet makes me sad as well. I'm even starting to think Kliff's not actually as good as I originally thought. Faust looks really good to me, though. So does Zappa. [/random speculation]
  19. It definitely works after 2K. I've never tried it with 5K. I think, if I'm doing my math right and WT has a 5 frame start up, it should work even if you FRC GF on frame 15. The problem is that it has to start on literally the next possible frame (frame 16). So, 16 (frame 1) + 4 more frames = frame 20 (5 frames total). Or maybe I'm screwing something up; I don't know. Either way, it should be negative edged really fast. Also, I seem to recall hearing that throws have priority in GG. If WT and GF both go active on the same frame, doesn't WT connect and not the GF? Well, either way, the timing is tight. It's pretty hype if you pull it off, though. EDIT: After messing around a bit in #R where GF was one frame faster, I couldn't get it to work at all. So, you may be right. It should probably get some more testing in case my timing is off, though.
  20. I don't know if anyone knows exactly for sure when +R is coming out. The AC+ release for XBox is tomorrow I think, and then PSN is in a week? Then it's supposed to be patched. I still don't know all the details.
  21. That's ok. I'll be excited for you.
  22. GGs everyone! Sorry I couldn't stick around and play more games; I have way too much work to do.

Lots of one Sol player in the following two vids: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJqc--_3DkU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46MKLXwI8wI Anyone know who that is?
  24. GGs to everyone yesterday. I need way more matchup experience.
