[CS1] Litchi Fresh Meat buns Thread (Guide and Combo Discussion)
St1ckBuG replied to Lord Knight's topic in Archive
Afaik doing 9jC dj8C should still position them so they can't roll behind you, but if they have a reversal you'll definitely get hit by it. edit: LK posting. 2nd edit: my bad, misinterpreted what you actually meant. -
This tournament looked pretty free.

I was gonna write up something that broke down what you should be doing, but this is dustloop, and good advice like that gets you banned... so I'll just just give you this: Chill out and stagger/jump-cancel your blockstrings. You can probably DP any of her D normals/specials on 5D/2D blocked (I know her drive moves got buffed, but they're not + on block). Ragna gets better with lag, stop foolin yourself.

She has quite a few, but since you only want simple ones... 1). After a full wall loop, if the opponent tries to tech out of the corner you can airthrow them for a re-combo. 2). After regular throw you can sj.S > j.H > Choujin (236P). This will set you up pretty good for an air-throw if they decide to tech a little late. You can also do this for after regular air combos as well. 3). After a low j.D > Gekirin (214D) ender you can catch a low air-tech with air-throw. If you end the combo high (you use your double jump) with j.D Gekirin, somtimes they will wait to tech, in which case you'll be able to airthrow them as soon as they tech. Option Select Since you don't want to risk wiffing a j.H when going for an air-throw tech-trap (this happens when they tech extremely late or tech before a ground bounce) you can option-select the air-throw. Instead of just jumping at the person and pressing H, press S+H (at the same time). If the tech-trap works you'll get the air-throw, if they tech late you'll get j.S and you'll be able to extentd your combo with a few more hits: JC > j.S > j.H > Ryuujin (236K)... etc. See above. Force Break Puffball > whatever you want. I don't see why not, but at the same time I don't see the point... that input isn't hard at all. It depends on the distance, but I'm assuming you mean full screen? Running will always be faster unless you do 236S~H FRC. Her slide might move faster than her run, but the recovery on it is horrible. 2D, 2K, and f.S.

Almost all tournaments will ban 1-button-specials but allow an RC/Barrier binding. All majors are run this way atleast. Also, I don't think beginner mode will effect this rule at all.

Too late now. No one plays this game anymore.

Ahhh damn. Silly tournament organizers. I'm a little sad now. Maybe next year? 1/10

A3 never moved from the GG area when he was in the venue and said plenty of times that he wanted to MM Hellmonkey. Hellmonkey also knew what he looked like after his MM with Jo, so it's not like A3 was just another face in the crowd. He tried to ask and work something out but it just never happened cause Hellmonkey was always too busy, not there, etc... I also had to tell A3 who Hellmonkey was so that he could atleast put a name with the face, since Hellmonkey didn't introduce himself... even though he was sitting RIGHT THERE next to Jo during the JO mirror money match. ALSO, you should be the last person saying anything about 'initiative' because you never showed for our first round match. I waited over an hour for us to play before they just sent you to losers. The tournament organizers always knew where I was or where to find me, but the same can't be said for you. You probably would've beaten me too, as I'm complete ass at this game (just ask anyone I played). I traveled to Vegas to play new people and to put faces with the names of people on these forums. All of whom I met ended up being really cool people despite all the shit talk (yes, even Hellmonkey). It's a shame we didn't get to play. The whole point of this is that you need to meet people half-way with this type of shit, and if you don't prepare to get blown the fuck up. Apparently the MM was important enough to talk massive amounts of shit, but not important enough to actually deliver. P.S. - Thanks for the awesome T-shirt btw koogy.
-
Stay gdlk EC. WC drunken shit talk was pretty good though.

GG's. I wish I had more matchup experience against ABA. We need FlashMetroid OS t-shirts. Sounds like Jersey to me: talk shit and lose... and I had to rep doren somehow. It was nice meeting some of the WC guys, as well as seeing familiar faces. Stay classy people.

I'll hit you up.

Any BBCS rooms at EVO tonight?
-
I'm sure you downloaded Zidane too right?
-
I play Litchi. You don't gotta tell me. It would be nice if they actually took some rounds off me every once in a while. Also, you're 21 right?

Her play-style is the same, it's just that her zoning got nerfed as well as her average damage. Her mixup was braindead in CT: all D normals were jump/dash cancellable, dash cancels went through people, full screen mixup that lead to good damage with meter. Her damage was stupid in CT: 4500+ no meter combos off of a 9f startup dash/jump cancellable move that was so easy to hit confirm off of since it was multi-hit. She still has mixup, it's just not as scary because you can't net good damage off of it unless you're in the corner or have meter. FYI, almost all mixups for every character are 'risky'. Most (if not all?) characters have to blow meter to make some of their mixup safe/combo-able.

Stay gdlk Dacid. See you at EVO. Maybe we'll actually get some games in this time. Sexist trolling attempts in this thread? I can't even try to get angry... it's just too stupid.
-
I was about to write up a long post about her mixup options after using a jump-cancellable normal but I decided against it since I might get banned again. I'll answer your question with a general statement: most mixup is risky. Throws can be hit/backdashed/jumped (or teched... but that isn't really 'risky'). Overheads can be unsafe/hit. Slow mixup can be jumped/backdashed/hit out of or punished on wiff. Sucessful mixup (to get mixup to hit that is) relies on your opponents knowledge and reaction time, neither of which you can control. Maybe you could argue the latter, but that's off-topic. With that being said: yes, her mixups are almost always risky.

GL at SBO Kensou. Make America proud and get past the first round. Oh, I though she was just being cute... O well. Free money is free money. Goodluck to you too kid viper. Enjoy Japan.

I'm sorry Mod's and players for trying to bring insight and knowledge to this forum. I will never again try to help the community by posting opinions/knowledge by using my common sense and experience. I now know why all my posts are either ignored or spat upon: you obviously all know what you're doing already. Once again, my deepest apologies.

I'll be the short Hatian with wearing plaid. I'll also be playing Litchi. We'll figure out the amount once I get my money to go, but it'll probably be 100 no problem. Sorry I hurt your feelings with my S-tier shit talk. You don't gotta bring your own personal hate for other Texas players into this thread. Keep that shit for your diary. More teams that actually play the game? The # of people doesn't matter much when they're all trash.

If you want to be somewhat competitive: never practice against the computer. Ever. You have netplay for matchup experience. (USER WAS BANNED FOR THIS POST)
