What a ride Anyway, hell if I know what to do against Eddie since I barely have matchup experience but I noticed you weren't hit confirming some solid hits. I saw you hit 5HS. but instead of going into lvl2 to MC'ed for some reason. Can't let that happen, especially against Eddie. I liked the tkensenga mixed into your pressure but you've gotta really crank up that guard gauge with it (more coin cancel pressure maybe?) and when frcing KJ or DB try to do something afterwards; the Eddie player was airthrowing you and AAing you all day. I understand though, I tend to do that sometimes too. Lastly, do yourself one big favor. Stop playing BB As you can see, nothing good comes from it. JK, I like BB, but I find GG much more enjoyable right now.

Are there any pokes of Johnny's that can be used during MC/Coin pressure that can give him some kind of frame advantage on block? I'm trying out some new MC pressure strings but they can be easily interrupted...I also assume if such a poke does exist it'd have be thrown out during lvl3 MC pressure where recovery is at its maximum?

I like how this man thinks. It won't happen, but it's nice to think about. How about giving Johnny a poke that gives him nice frame advantage on block ala Anji's and Slayer's 5K. That'd be nice instead of having to Mist Cancel everything but the kitchen sink all the time.

Just out of curiosity, do you play EX Slayer exclusively? If so you'd have a hard time finding people from Dustloop looking for serious comp to play with you since EX characters are not tourney legal.

Every time I play BB it only reminds me of one thing. How much more I enjoy playing Guilty Gear. CTF really needs to fix the sticks on GG already. Can't speak for others but I'd be more motivated to play (read: learn stick) there if the sticks worked properly.

Letting my voice be heard. This really needs to happen ArcSys/Aksys. Look at the successes of SFIIHDR and MvC2 online. I guarantee you the same can happen with GG. You have the technology.

Well it's been a while but here are some recent match vids of my group. These were recorded a few days before this year's Otakon, and I must say that Otakon allow both me and my group's members to level up considerably thanks to the fellow DL people I met there (10stars, KBNova, Gwyrgrn Blood among others). Wow, congrats on your decision to pick up (arguably) the manliest character in Guilty Gear! Unfortunately I haven't played my copy of XX since 2003, so I won't be able to help. Johnny has SIGNIFICANTLY changed since that era. What I can tell you is this: The DBT FRC must be done manually, especially on pad. So if you're using the macro that sets P+K+S to a button, then don't use it for this particular FRC. Try it out. The one-hit ensengas (known as enkasus) are one of the most difficult aspects to learn with him, so I suggest you maybe hold off on them until you learn the basics, like Mist Canceling. Try to get your pressure game set, and a good throw game (especially in the corner). But if you still want to practice them, there is a thread that lists all the setups for the cast...but because you're playing XX I can't say whether those lists are applicable to that outdated version. TK ensenga, just practice. Remember that the motion is 412369+HS. Forget about doing his rapid dash on pad. It's next to impossible; that's a stick technique. Sorry dude. So keep practicing, make sure and find human opponents to play, and continue to ask questions when you have them. I'm positive the other (and much more experienced) Johnnys here will be happy to assist you.

Heh, I hear that. I think out of all the currently active JP Slayers I've seen, Tsujikawa's is the one I revear/fear the most. That guy has no disadvantageous matchups. It's like every time he fights he automatically makes the outcome of his fight 5-5 or better at round start

This batch of matches is also dated, and I really think the group as a whole has improved significantly. We'll be recording again soon so hopefully you'll be able to see improved performances on everyone's part.

Good to know; I've become so used to 3HS as oki that it doesn't register sometimes that bacon can opt out of it for free. This matchup really fucks around with Johnny's B&B system of advancing on an opponent. Also how does one deal with tatami spam coinless? 6P trades/loses (WTF???) and MF1 high is risky.
