  1. Hey guys can someone give me a list of some uses for tkDB? I've been randomly practicing it in Training Mode but idk if this technique has any practical use outside of a gimmick of some sort.
  2. Because the sticks are messed up, especially on P1. Bug the guy in charge to fix it I guess.
  3. Awesome; thank you so much for this Jais, this is definitely going to help me out in this fight. I'm surprised that I can dash throw the fire super if used as pressure...I'm going to really enjoy doing that if the opportunity ever presents itself. @vedasime: you know me bro, I always think too much :8/: but I'm not putting anyone on a pedestal, I promise you that!
  4. Put it this way: the first time I fought him last month, I was able to win 1 match out of 3, and barely lost the 3rd match. Last week, I was shut down completely. So any future encounters rely on some serious improvements on my part. Hyberbolic time chamber is an understatement. Also, is it possible to Mist Loop Buri in the corner ala Eddie? Cause that'd be really helpful.
  5. Yes. There is an up and coming Buri player (took 2nd place at the recent tournament I was talking about) who has serious potential to become the best in the state (probably by default since I don't know of any other NY Buri players). It's not always easy to get matches with him since he's still in high school but I definitely will make the effort to get more games in once I'm fiscally able to travel to his neck of the woods. And I've taken to heart all of your points, Jais and 4r5 (I ask for someone with Jais matchup exp and I get the man himself. Couldn't have worked out any better!). I'll let you know how it goes next time I face the peril of Buri (now there's a sentence I'd never thought I'd say)
  6. Well, you certainly hit the nail on the head when you said that there's ALOT more runaway. At all costs Buri wants to keep you away and punish you for any attempts at approaching. Johnny's mainstay pokes like 5HS and 5K are suddenly null and void thanks to the yo-yo and stuff like his 5S, 2D and 6S. Also the yoyo getaway move where he escapes by following the yo-yo in the air is VERY hard to punish, so for the most part (and really I guess for any matchup where JO is zoned) once you get in range you need to do whatever it takes to stay there, and kill him in the corner. In my last fight I found myself going DC with my coins when I had him in the corner and that seemed to work...but I couldn't keep it up and eventually the situation was reset leading to my defeat. I'm going to look into backdashing the yoyo though, for some reason doing that never occurred to me since his 5HS beat everything I tried and the kitchen sink. So far the only pressure string that I've found success with in terms of getting in is 5S > coin > 6K MC > mixup low/throw. 2HS at close range punished yoyo callback attempts. And that's all I've got. It's so sad that I learned how to enkasu and land 60% - 80% combos on this kid but it was all moot since I wasn't allowed to get in to my ideal range Kenmastersx if you're reading this I'd love to hear your input; I know you have matchup exp with Jais. Hell anyone with Jais matchup exp feel free to throw in your two cents. tl;dr version: Buri has yo-yo; Johnny has no-yo, Buri wins. Oh no.
  7. After a sound beating by a very competent Buri at a recent tournament I am more motivated than ever to learn this matchup. Finding match videos to help is hard; BLEED was rolled by Ruu in the last 23v23 if I remember correctly, and while there's one of DC taking a Buri to round 5, ultimately he couldn't deliver. Some questions: 1. How to deal with the godforsaken yo-yo. Are there high/low mixups from it that I need to know about? Better yet, what are the mixups, period. 2. Approaching. I had a hell of a time getting into mid-range because of some poke or another beating out my 5Ks, 2Ds. IADing is a no-no too because I was met with an immediate 6S to the face into combo into KD. Even a regular dash in gets stuffed by some random poke. I think this is a match that forces you to be very patient for an opening. I sometimes get too desperate to land that 60%-80% combo on him that I fail to watch what's happening on the screen (ie: where the yo-yo is at any given point in time). If someone can link JO vs BR matches that are successful, that'd be awesome as well.
  8. You didn't get my message about it through PSN?
  9. Thoroughly enjoyed myself, good shit to everyone. @Biscuits: I feel like I have a mountain to climb every time I fight you because you play against two of the state's best Johnnys on a regular so I barely put up a fight. I need the matchup exp though, so thanks for that again. Tell your crew to come through more often, we can do teams or something next time. @Mahouko: Goddamn your Buri, jk Thanks to you I now have to learn this fight that JO has to work his ass off to win. But I like having strong opponents to fight and try to beat, so thanks for giving me something to work on. Learned quite a bit as well! @ mah bois: lol ggs bros. I fight you all the time so you know what's up. You're all excellent players and have all gotten stronger and will only continue to do so. Hopefully I'll be able to keep up. Just remember, I tick throw you because I love you
  10. Myself and the entirety of my GG crew are confirmed. That's 6 people altogether, 5 of whom post on DL with varying degrees of frequency.
  11. Actually the name of the move you're talking about is called "Bacchus Sigh". Mist Finer is the sword attack input of 236, holding then releasing P,K or S.
  12. Last month I had a good idea of what I was up against, and this time around I hope I'm better prepared. I also hope to bring some members of my crew along as well. Mahouko you and your Buri better be ready for an epic and long awaited rematch.
  13. Heh, good guess. How'd you find that out anyway? I don't think I've ever talked about my SF past on these boards. Call me masochistic
  14. As of now Mon-Thurs seems good for me unless I have an interview or something.
  15. Well I've successfully gotten the hang of the 6FRC6 method, I now need to work on landing the FRC more consistently, because atm I'm spending 50%. The enkasu so far is taking a little more time to nail, the setup after the AD is character specific right? Are they the same as if I were setting the enkasu up from a corner throw or are there variants per character?
  16. Roger that A3. Bleeding fingers here I come.
  17. OK Mitsu, I tried using the tactic of j.214S, K+S+H, 66 and I think I'm getting somewhere, except what tends to happen is after the air dash, the dummy techs, but gets hit with the jK that comes out. A tech trap, but not what I want to do:vbang: BTW my dummy is SL, I tried VE and the same thing happens.
  18. A++ would agree again. Awesome vids chaz. Hope to play you guys again soon, ie, get raped.
  19. I definitely want to level up. I'm down.
  20. So I'm determined now to get those mid-screen enkasu setups using KJFRC->AD -> enkasu, but for the ever loving life of me I can't get the AD -> jP to connect after the KJFRC. I understand that I have to use the I-no tactic of 6FRC6 while FRCing KJ but I don't know when to acutally hit the first 6 in the combo. For example against SL I do MFL2 > jK > jS > djS > jHS > KJFRC and somewhere around the FRC I fall apart. The training dummy techs out, or the AD comes out but nothing else after that... Any help would be very welcome.
  21. Hmm...I dunno, to me it seems like it could be DC. I just think his game has significantly changed and he's trying out new gimmicks (5P as fake coin lol) and setting up more combos off random hits. Plus I'm certain in some of the background noise I could hear someone actually say "DC" a few times.
  22. In the most recent vids of acho featuring DC, I noticed he was using 5P as a kind of "feint" coin-toss, afterwards he'd go into a mixup of throw or a low. I'm wondering how viable this is, because to me it seems that 5P and coin have the same startup frames, so can someone tell me if 5P does indeed have less frames than cointoss? If so that'd be a nice way for JO to fake out people too used to expecting a coin, especially when he's still carriying some.
  23. Pretty sure that's what he means. I dunno who those Kys were, but I do know that Kabegiwa no DC was owning face all day in these uploads. His game has seriously stepped up!
  24. Completely different, like night and day almost. Incidentally, there's a thread about Johnny combos, so please ask any questions you have in there and you'll be sure to get a response.
  25. Just what is this tournament anyway?
