  1. Man, I wish they'd release GG for online. It'd give the game some much-deserved life... Also, I think I'll be going to HQ tomorrow for the first time since getting founder status. About time. xD What time you opening/closing, though? My window tomorrow might be a bit limited...
  2. Yeah Eb, I think people are more hype for MvC3 now than BB. I haven't even played the game in 3w so I wouldn't mind it being MvC3 since I got in a good bit of practice yesterday too... *cough*
  3. Ok, on cause toute en QC pcq c facile en toute à type pis y comprenent rien lol. Pis lol Air ya pas besoin dcomprendre l'FR pour catcher l'contexte quand Renaud y'entrain dperdre. Yup. Not sure if it's Marvel or BB anymore, though. I think it's both. Or something.
  4. Yay, new thread. You can ask a mod to put "Géneral" in the title, but "Generale" works too to represent English MTL. :P Et si on parlais en FR maintenant pour rendre les Américains confus?
  5. ^ They are entirely appropriate to balance the character. Remember, her lv1 hyper hits anywhere on screen and she has plenty of other goodies to make her a threat. Pure dmg increase is more than enough, imo.
  6. I'd have put in the Carl matchup thread, but this is more theoretical and option selects can be general to more than one character. So yeah.
  7. Option select vs. Carl? In the corner, input a reverse TK Zantetsu. If he stays put, Tsubaki comes out. If he tries to Vivace out, it's Zantetsu in the face. Not sure it's viable, though, I only just thought of it. Anyone willing to test it?
  8. Use 5b instead of 2c. 2c comes out later than 5b, so Haz has time to drop a bit too low for the j.C to connect. Using 5b instead should correct that. I personally almost exclusively use 5b now since it's got better hitbox management than 2c does. Getting oki supersedes the dmg you sacrifice.
  9. LK, do you think BB is too slow? It's got a lot of space to move around, so that can limit the number of confrontations. Game speed is also very much apparent when comparing how long combos take vs. say, MvC3. Or do you think it's mostly fine as of CS2?
  10. Okay, so talking about magatama management earlier made me curious about how Haku handles it. I've gone through a couple vids to see how many he generates in a typical match. Turns out the number is roughly 8 to 12s per match (assuming a match length of 45s). 6-8 if the Haku got perfected. 13+ if the match went on longer. Computing frame data, I came to 7stars per match for auto-gain only. That's... not as much as I thought it would be. Just goes to show how precious mag is and how much meterless combo hits count for. As Qwerty said, make those IBs count! They make it just a bit easier to generate mag.
  11. HOS = Holy Order Sol. Rushdown character extraordinaire. :P Lol, maybe. He's definitely going to be a sub along with Jin. :P
  12. This sounds awesome. I can contribute/collaborate with the other Hakus. I think Spark will likely be the head of this side of the project. One thing: will these vids be updated? If we make them just 1-2m after CS2's release in NA, then they're likely to contain outdated info a couple months down the line...
  13. Nah, I don't think the match changed much. My strategy v. Lambda is to back her into the corner then go nuts. This shouldn't have changed since the corner is where you net your big damage anyway. Unless your strategy was to kill her midscreen, the matchup is fine imo. Now, I might switch because Haku, as he is, is close to my ideal fighter (Haku x HOS is my dream fighter). The damage and mag nerfs hurts some of the things I like most about Haku, so it's harder to see my playstyle in him. I like Haku, but if I can't play the way I want to because of his limitations, that's frustrating. :\
  14. ^ Too much reliance on mag for his options. He's got the tools to do just about everything, but he needs mag, and it got nerfed in CS2. I think he can still dish it out in CS2, he just needs the corner. But yeah, it's fairly apparent that he's not the same here as he once was... I think I'll be switching characters if he's too gimped in CS2. >_>
  15. You need to play the really good 'kunes if the match is free for you, Eb. Pedro doesn't count. Personally, I either go for a 1s corner carry or stagger tech oki off 4c CH. Damage isn't worth it unless it's meterless and you need it, imo.
  16. I thought HOS was only mid-tier because of his sucky range? :O
  17. Gj on the re-haul. I'd upload the vids, but there's too many of them and I hate Nico's whack video loading with a passion so I'm not about to go through them. If anyone can point me to those with top play/interesting stuff, I'd be willing to upload e'm. This matchup is pretty rare to catch on camera. But for what it's worth, I've got one of Sendatu (online JP beast) v. Random Ara: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNftdRbUy8Q Tell you what. We require more Walljumpman, you want Ara. We provide, you deliver. Have we a deal? Qwerty's like one of those old Kung-Fu dudes who hate your existence until you finally prove yourself. Proof: Hazama is really annoying to fight. You can cut chains, but that doesn't do much when Haz can disrespect you all day. Bleh. Speaking of Ara, I played vs. a good one online this weekend who put me into curse, locked me down, then Astraled. He barely had a pixel of hp left. There was 1 second left on the timer. I almost RQ'd. Fuck that guy. Also, I think Tao is on par with these two for annoying-ness. These three characters are, imo, Haku's worst matchups.
  18. I'll add: Do j.D after Hotaru clashes to catch the ID. C ID is two hits, so it will beat out Hotaru. However, Hotaru can cancel into j.D after the clash. It will catch the ID's second hit. If you can do j.D -> 5c x2 combos, it's a great punish. You can do the same with j.2c if it clashes. If it doesn't, you eat eat ID because j.D would only catch the ID's first hit.
  19. Ok... To beat him, use more throws or fake pressure/create delays (he mashes counters). Play more against him to block his stuff properly. Lay on more pressure too, don't be afraid to be aggressive. He knows his combos, but is lacking in the department of setting them up. Don't get countered, and you should be able to beat him with a bit of patient play. Basically: - He lacks an organized pressure strategy (in fact, he backs out too often). - Does not do oki. - Does not set up knockdowns. - Uses/badly uses too many counters. - Mashes 4c like he doesn't know why he's using it. But he can combos and block, at least. Still, follow the above, and you can be sure he won't be in GFs next time. Good luck. :]
  20. On the subject of Rachel's frame data, I made an analysis of that earlier today. ------------------ Now... That London Haku... Before I judge him, was he trolling or something?
  21. Even if 5b were downgraded to lv2, j.a is safe on block, and 2b on IB. It's still useful. I doubt it was "minutely adjusted". A change in attack level is a big change.
  22. But that's the thing. You have enough time to tech throws in BB so that OS isn't really needed. Don't be lazy, tech properly! :] 5b: lv3 atk (16f blockstun). j.a: 8f startup. 2b: 10f startup. Method: [string] = jump startup + startup frames = frames required. | Rq f + IB adv. = total frames on IB. 1) 5b -> j.a = 4 + 8 = 12f. | 12 + 3 = 15f. 2) 5b -> 2b = 0 + 10 = 10f. | 10 + 3 = 13f. Rachel's advantage on IB'd 5b: Lv3 blockstun - T rq f on IB. 1) 16 - 15 = +1 2) 16 - 13 = +3 If IB were not nerfed, j.a would be unsafe. But since it was, there is no gap.
  23. From what I'm reading here, sounds like this tourney's a scam from the get-go. Shit like this is to be expected as FGs get bigger. I had my doubts the moment the pot was announced. $5000? Yeah, too good to be true and that's what scams are. If I were you guy's shoes, I'd back out without a second glance. Don't even give it a chance. I almost got scammed myself two years ago and it does stuff to you. Don't trust, drop everything, cut your losses. Just back the fuck out because you might lose more than what you already invested. Support CEO instead. That seems legit. Always support the legit stuff.
  24. :O Cease and desist!
  25. Thanks a lot for the info! <$500 tickets could just be the sweet spot we're looking for. There's still another bunch of obstacles, but lowering the cost is probably the most important one. Hopefully we'll be able to make it and show what the up-and-coming MTL scene is made of.
