  1. Woooo!! Kaeruuuu!!! Damn your FRKZ, I'll find a way to beat it one day! Very much GGs, your Bang is always is a pleasure to match up against. Hope you don't mind if I record and upload one of our matches? Btw, were you playing on your new stick? How's it holding up in actual matches? Same with Vice, we got in some good matches. Can't wait for CS2 when it'll be possible to even out the field, lol. Still, stay godlike.
  2. Haha, no, that's not a spoiler at all. I posted it for the obvious reason that it's a guy punching his monitor out. Doesn't have anything to do with Madoka although I have kept up with the show, which is weird because I haven't seen any anime in a year+. I just heard comments about "episode 3", gave it a watch and it's suddenly a guilty pleasure. The more horrible the show becomes, the bigger my enjoyment. :P Anyway, thanks for the advice on my Valk, though all I really need right now is practice and experience. I still can't even finish a single combo and I have no idea how to approach let alone mixup or anything like it. I'm mashing stuff out at best. The meeting is noted, sir. However, I will probably not be putting on my pink silk gloves on Sunday. It might have to wait for another week or two. Keep your stick well oiled. I'll be on in a bit though, so if you want to get in some matches just hit me up.
  3. The one thing I like most about the new combos is that they're more practical for breaking the 5k dmg barrier. In CS1 you have to rely on 5c/2c links to optimally reach 5k. But now Haku can do that midscreen with the mid-combo Hotaru variation if it leads into the corner. Very sweet. On the other hand, there are more dashes in his combos now which is very frustrating as a pad player who uses the analog stick (Ps3). I think all fighting games should incorporate the very useful two-button dash mechanic from MvC3. It would be a godsend.
  4. Oh, I missed this. Talking trash better be all I do.
  5. Ok, so I finally got around to practice his combos. Two Q's: - Why do 236a -> 236b instead of 236b -> 236a when leading up to 5/7C -> j.B x2? It seems to be very tight whereas the latter is easy (though it does leave you further from the other's hitbox). - How can I land j.B x2 -> 5b -> j.B more consistently? It seems that whenever I do hit with 5b, the j.B after will just barely whiff. Should I get used to doing [h]5b instead?
  6. Real men get up at 5am. ----- GGs last night, Pedro. I noticed your Mu improved. My Valk needs a ton more practice. I need to get better at using wolf to move around. He sucks against zoning. On the other hand, you're 1000 years too early to challenge my Haku.
  7. Not a one. They'll arrive sometime next week, I should think.
  8. I would not be so sure that he'll never make it into office. If there's ever been a time for him to make it, it's right now. Among all the leaders of the major parties, he's the most stable one. People don't like Harper and Iggy, as you say, should stay in the classroom. Duceppe? Who gives a fuck about him if you're not a Quebecer? If Layton can come out on top on this one (which is a very real possibility), he'll get a minority gov. The real question is whether he can turn that into a majority. At the very least, he's got a shot.
  9. Honestly, all the parties are lacking. The only outcome we can't have is Harper getting a majority. That's just... unthinkable for the direction Canada would take. He is NOT the kind of leader you want for Canada. He would be a good candidate for the US presidency, but he's much too crafty and secretive for the common Canuck. So what's left? Layton and Ignatief. If I had to go with the lesser of two evils, it'd have to be Layton. However, the question is whether or not Layton has what it takes. He's a sensible guy that comes off as honest, but who knows if he has the experience necessary. The Conservatives do have one good thing going for them: they're performers. Despite Harper being Harper, they get shit done. Unfortunately, it comes at the cost of Harper's vision. Now, you say that Layton's to blame for creating the election. This is only partly true. If you look at the situation as a whole, Harper was the one who orchestrated the setup for the elections to take place with a budget that satisfies no one. He believes he now has enough support from Canadians to get a majority -- and he's partly right what with the other parties lacking -- so he gunned for it. So this election is more about getting Harper out and shuffling the leaders of the opposition parties. Once Ignatief is out, we might see something good out of the Liberals. But until then, they aren't up to snuff. Verdict: Layton's the go-to guy. He's pretty much the face of the NDP by now, so the party isn't much without him just like the ADQ isn't much without Mario Dumont. He represents stability at this point in time. However, the strategy here would be to get Layton into a minority government as a setup to switch out Harper and Ignatief (Gilles Duceppe will bail the moment Marois gives up the PQ what with the up-coming PQ elections). If Layton performs, he'll eventually get a majority. If not, a stronger leader will step up and take the crown (though this is unlikely. The Libs are talking of propping up Justin Trudeau as a puppet-leader for the popularity factor. Also, the Conservatives are unlikely to have anyone who can equal Harper atm. More minority gov can be expected in the future. *sigh*). So, vote Layton, not to vote for him, but to vote for a change in Canadian politics. Unfortunately, the expected outcome is perhaps Harper getting a minority again (or, God forbid, a majority). It's too bad Harper's the kind of guy he is, he would have made a fine Canadian PM otherwise.
  10. Just for future reference, if I don't explicitly say I'm going, assume I won't be there. So yeah, won't be there this Thursday. Hope you guys can pick up good vids, though. :]
  11. This is the vid. It's @39:52 I think. You can just click the link in the top comment.
  12. ^ He'll hang around for the 21st - 24th of April.
  13. Keeping up with news is always a good thing. :] :O Everyone's got their price. What's hers? ... Though I'm going to guess that stuff's probably insider things which, yeah, she's better off not telling at any cost (note of interest: insider trading is way more prevalent than anyone would like to admit). Regulators can be such bastards. Hmm... Check your PM.
  14. New A-Cho is up and we have some Tenchi! ... But he seems to be struggling. He has one match in the first set, but I won't link since there isn't much there to see. However, the 4th set is a good one: Link Tenchi plays the second match @2:25. Struggles until he does one beast of a combo in the second round. We also have the regular A-Cho Haku go on a nice streak starting @13:55. He does something pretty cool at one point (forget where exactly): 5c CH (OTG) -> Kishuu -> 5c -> etc. It seems you don't need an AA CH off 5c to do 5c x2 as a starter anymore. Very nice. Lovin' the new kishuu. That said, I might have to revise my initial assessment of CS2 Haku. I still think he struggles, but I'm optimistic about his design in future installments. He seems more like a GG character now what with his return on meter. We might get some nice stuff next time around. For now, we just need to stick to it I guess.
  15. Not Harper. Harper. ----- Hi5 for following the news! Nice to see I'm not the only one who keeps up with news/politics (and maybe the markets? I think I'm the only one here interested in that, lol).
  16. Omar. <3 On the note of orals, I have a presentation in German tomorrow. The teacher forbids notes since she wants us to demonstrate our knowledge of German. FFFUUUUUUU. Das ist nicht cool, sag ich dir!
  17. Hope you guys can upload the rest. I want to review my matches with Brice. :]
  18. ^ In that case, he should have done Gurren -> Enma -> finish. For Tsubaki, he's probably referring to doing hop Tsubaki after 5c, but I'm not sure that would work with how heavily the combo is prorated at that point. Anyway, cool combos, very solid Haku. What interests me is his corner pressure now. Having those new air unblockable normals makes it scarier to try and get out on Haku.
  19. I'm not going; too much work. I don't think there's going to be a meet today...
  20. Nvm, more of my obscure self-referential humor. Ignore me. >_>
  21. Not entirely. He found someone to provide the armor, but he's yet to ask me to bring him 100y back in time. I'm not sure why; I think he's being overly cautious on this one since I have a 100% success rate. Not a single complaint!
  22. Okay, Steb then. Stebbie, my man. My bro... :D Someone take this man out to the nearest bar and fill him up. Sounds like someone's lost his Gf.
  23. Hey Nini, could you try something out for me? Since your execution is probably the best among us, could you do Haku's Tsubaki deatth combo? The official notation is: Mugen -> Renka(1) -> Gurren -> Hop Tsubaki x8 -> 5c -> Zan -> Renka(1) -> Gurren -> Hop Tsubaki -> 5c -> Zan -> Shippu. I want to see if you can do the Tsubakis consistently. The timing is very tight. @Pedro: I'm not sure this thread's title will fit, but I'll see about that.
  24. I don't have any preference for the day it happens so long as it's either Friday or Sat. It's just a matter of planning for it for me.
