  1. Orb is +8 on block. I don't really recommend Fuujin thru CSE at all. unless Ky threw it out randomly. Which I don't think most Ky's would do that. For Oki I think Ky would've recovered about the time your getting up pretty much. Just Block. It's not like Ky's pressure is endless.
  2. Heh yea. Christian has nothing but good things about you. I look forward to playing you some. I'm going to wait till I get better. (Recovering from a cold.) Before I go around playing casuals. But yea I'm certainly down for Guilty at almost any time.

  3. Only way for Ky to Force Prorate is throwing the other player thankfully. Sadly he has a ton of normal proration. I still kinda don't understand why Greed Sever or Either Vapor Thrust have proration at all. Kinda unneeded IMO. http://www.dustloop.com/data/ac/ky.html
  4. Reread the post. Last sentence or two of the first paragraph.
  5. Proration would be the same. Both lack Forced Prorate and both use 8 GB. 5K would be better based on the fact that it does more damage as a move. 4 more points of damage. Altho it might end up as only 1 more point for the total combo. So it doesn't really matter. Proration only matters if it's the first hit of the combo. Forced Prorate is what happens mid-combo. Hell off of TK RtL assuming you land it. On Some characters. You can regain about 30-40% of the meter you spent on the Super. In the corner tho. Those are likely only the Robot and Potemkin.
  6. Dude. True Drunken Gear will happen next time. I'm gonna try to make Final Round now.

  7. Looks like Ky was in the air still when Pot Buster went active.
  8. Jump canceling>Make them whiff>Punish. RC>Backdash>Make them whiff>Punish Cancel to a slide or something Etc.
  9. May has the same type of Dragon punch as Axl. Neither of them have fully invincible dragon punchs. Axl has a Lower body invincibility one which still loses to like standing lows. And has an upperbody invincible one that needs the other move hitting pretty high for it to work. (it's pretty much a really fast throw invincible 6P) His Counters don't go active right away and are pretty easy to beat. I play this match all the time and they are non issues. To the point that one of the Axl's I play doesn't even use the 214 counters. The Dragon punch counter doesn't work on lows and also isn't frame 1 either. So effectively he has no reversals. Also his super is pretty awful in general. But I guess that could reversal. His Backdash is one of the worst ones. He's certainly one of the worst at getting out of pressure. You could try asking an Axl player. I'm sure they would agree with me. Eddie is worse, Venom is worse, Normal mode A.B.A is worse, Johnny, Millia, Faust, I-no might be worse but they all have better reversal supers, better jumps, and way better backdashs. He's certainly on the lower half for dealing with pressure. Despite having tools. They have been toned down considerably since Reload.
  10. Ky, Faust and Ghost Zappa all control space just as well as Axl if not better. Look at the 3 of them sitting at near bottom tier. Axl is where he is likely for a reason. You say May doesn't have a way to get people off? Try Axl. He's MUCH MUCH MUCH worse in that department. May is scary. She's very hard to get in on and hoop is a better dragonpunch than Axl's. (Both are lacking tho.) She has some of the better reversal supers. Approaching her kinda scary at times because like Slayer. CH=possible death. Her oki game is effective. You don't really need much more when your damage off of a Command grab is 40%. There is a reason she won SBO. Her Risk/Reward is very good. Owaga might be overrating Eddie a little bit from personal bias but I doubt his reasoning is very far well. Johnny being in his own tier is likely a statement of how poorly he matchs up compared to the rest of the cast. At least Bridget also had a strong showing at SBO. Potemkin... That's likely his match up vs. Eddie being that bad. Plus I'm sure Japan has figured out ways around his standard gameplay. It was pretty simple. But being totally countered by Eddie who is the best character and likely overused because of it would hurt tournament preformance I'm sure. Hence the drop in tier.
  11. Most Characters have 2Ks that prorate 70% Some have 80%. The ones that don't hit low even prorate I think. Like Eddie's. Slayer kinda lacks Proration in general. j.H, 2H (forced), 2K, Undertow, Bite and Pilebunker are it I think. Edit:I guess his is 6 frames. I thought it was 5. Still other characters have slower ones that prorate a lot more with less range.
  12. Ky's Ride the lightning likely had more invinciblity than the EX Sol super. I wouldn't know because I don't know the data for EX Sol at all. But picture it like this. Say X super move has 1+5 start up, like 6 active frames and 20-ish frames of recovery (Doesn't really matter.) and frames 1-7 are invincible. Then you have X super move which is... 6+5 start up, 2 active frames then whatever recovery but it is invincible for frames 1-10 and invincible to strikes for frames 11-16. Anyway. frames 7-12 are when the first super can hit while it can't be hit on the 1st 7 frames. While super 2 can hit on frames 12 and 13 but is invincible pretty much till frame 16. Super 2 would win because it could hit super 1 while it's invincible assuming that it's hitbox touches the vurnable part of super 1's hitbox (else they would likely clash.) I think this topic kinda belonged in the general gameplay questions. Not in the character speific forums but My shitty explaination might give you an idea of what happened.
  13. Far Slash, Sweep, 5H, forward jump, backjump, Run>Grab, 2H, 2S, Greed Sever, Stun Dipper, Stun Edge, HSVT, SVT, 2K, TK Air Stun Edge and 6P have all started matchs for me. Many, Many times. I think 2S and forward jump are my favorite two tho.
  14. Ky is a brilliant political adviser? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6urw_PWHYk Damn't thought this was the BC thread for some reason. Oh well. I'll most likely pick up this game. Not sure when I'll get a 360 tho.
  15. Ky/Slayer is a totally different match up than Ky/HOS. Just because Ky is a natural AntiSlayer character doesn't mean characters below Slayer would be a cake walk. As for HOS's j.H... j.K, 6P, Close S, HSVT seem to all beat it out at pretty much every possible usage. Just look for the right AA option depending on his spacing. My experience with this match is more limited than others. The HOS up here doesn't play much anymore.
  16. For the Fireball>FRC>Dash combos. I input them like this. 6FRC6>2K 2K is the easiest follow up after the FRC>run due to the huge range. Most of the better LJ Loop set ups are specific to which part of the screen you are on. It's kinda easier once you figure out what point is the sweet spot for each combo. Like on May, The Blue part of May's stage is really good for this cause you can do Air combo>into LJ and have the LJ hit really late so you can get a sweet relaunch off of this easily. What I suck at is getting the 2/3 Rep to be a SVT instead of a HSVT. Mixing in the Slash VT midcombo is awkward kinda.

    Ky Beginner Guide

The Computer is FRCing the Charge Stun Edge. Roman Cancel the CSE at a certain point (When the orb forms before the fireball is the quie.) The CSE will track on Ky until it starts moving so if you FRC and jump it will throw the fireball into the air. Greed Sever, Running, Backdash, Stun Dipper, Etc will also all effect the placement of the CSE after FRC as well. Any more questions just ask.
  18. The ones I've seen. None of them are practical. Ky (Restricted to Zappa, Potemkin, 2 or 3 more. It's in FS's combo video... But it's basically stuck to wall glitch then 6H>ACSE>6H>ACSE>Etc), Sol (On Potemkin and Maybe Zappa. But it's Bandit Bringer xN), Zappa (Dog 5D comboes midscreen.), Testament has one of the light weight group (Millia, I-no, I think Dizzy is the final person in this group. By doing a 30+ hit combo then using Hitomi over and over.) Then a bunch of characters have IAD infinites on Potemkin, Johnny and other tall people. I think thats all of them.
  19. You still placed higher than me I think. I lost to Aaron Mashing on Throw and getting triplet 6H and me getting hit by the random fact it's an overhead that hits like 1/3 of the total screen distance. Zappa/Ky is a dumb, dumb match still. Sucks about the controller. New controllers are kinda hit and miss too. Some just really don't wear well at all.
  20. I wish other matches of mine had been recorded over the Execution failure madness that was vs. Alex. Me Vs. Elias and Me Vs. Aaron were pretty sweet.
  21. I do use those. Or at least try to. And yea those do crank out the damage pretty good. But Typically you land those off of prorated starters like 5K, 2K, 2P. So they do a little less than 200 but yea. Still good.
  22. Characters like? Zappa is bad. (His Worst easily. triplets vs. Ky is just flat retarded.) Baiken and Jam are bad. Venom is bad (Supposivly), A.B.A, Pot, Axl and Eddie are also kinda bad. Rest are 5-5 or better honestly. He's roughly 5-5 vs. Slayer and Testament who are both considered top. And Eddie and Potemkin match ups aren't that bad. For stuff he does well? He gets a lot of chances to do damage compared to most characters. His poke game is very strong combined with the fact that any random hit leads to a knockdown and his meter gaining is through the roof. (Honestly if done right his Throw FRC combos return all the meter he spent doing the FRC, maybe more...) His mix ups are also fairly good while not Millia level you'll get hit by something. His Space control is top 5-6 in the game easily. His Anti air game is easily among the best in the game. (Axl and Maybe Faust compare.) A lot of frame traps and good pressure. He Excels at a lot of stuff. Damage is most definitely not one of them tho. He's just Solid overall. Poor Damage sucks tho. Yea. But the right combos will still kill people in 3 combos pretty much or 2 and and a half or whatever. Pretty much just recapping what has already been said tho. He isn't low tier. B sounds about right.
  23. May's good dude. It's pretty much the same deal as Jam were there are moves you don't want to get hit by or you'll be in a lot of pain, she's got that huge airthrow, insane command grab+good tick throw game revolving around it. (which does like 40%-60% pretty much anywhere on the screen.), dumb frame traps all over the place, Etc... My Experience is Jam is not that much tho. Jam, Venom and Faust are definitely characters I rarely if ever have to deal with.
  24. SEddie, Slayer, Testament, Potemkin AMay, Baiken, Jam, ABA, Axl BMillia, Ky, Venom, Sol, Zappa, Robo, OS CFaust, Dizzy, Chipp, Anji DJohnny, I-no, Bridget I don't really care about the order of the top 4 at all. Other than Potemkin is 4th. I think May is a step above the others in A tier personally. But I don't really consider her good enough to match up with the Boys in S.
  25. The problem with the FRC is he can't use it to escape really. Unless the knockdown was by an aircombo (He retains jump properties on wake up this way.) He can only throw out an attack or block. Thats it. And those 3 frames are Ky's easiest FRC window. So I don't think many Ky players miss it. As for Good Ky players wouldn't use the move. A Good player would use all his tools and if he knew that would get him out then yea. He would use it. It's something that Slayer (Any character really.) has to at least worry about. Despite it being like the 2nd or 3rd worst uppercut in Accent Core (For Reversals.) Not sure if it was mentioned but the safe time to burst Ky is VT. (For the most part.) Cause most the stuff he uses in combos is overly burst safe and your just going to get reset if you guess wrong.
