  1. Even though the Speed Test shows ping, people should do the actual Ping Test instead just to get a better idea. Then take it a step further and do it to multiple states and multiple distances. www.pingtest.net Example: 1 frame = ~17ms Ping / "Frames of Lag": VA = 32ms = 1.9 DC = 40ms = 2.4 PA = 42ms = 2.5 NY = 42ms = 2.5 GA = 42ms = 2.5 QC = 49ms = 2.9 OH = 51ms = 3 IL = 56ms = 3.3 ON = 60ms = 3.5 FL = 65ms = 3.8 MI = 65ms = 3.8 TX = 75ms = 4.4 CA = 98ms = 5.7 WA = 112ms = 6.6 AB = 116ms = 6.8 CAL = 126ms = 7.4 UK = 127ms = 7.5 KOR since JPN had no servers = 251ms = 14.8 lol If you consider that 5 frame buffer or whatever it is, you can see how the distance can make the differences more apparent. Or if you think of how fast overheads are or throw break windows, you potentially have that many frames less to react to it, in theory.
  2. Fixed and thank you. It was because as I was doing the numbers her's was the same as Millia so I must've missed her.
  3. I was curious about this discussion since I'll probably be learning GG seriously once it releases on PS3/360. So I decided to see what a tier list would look like if you averaged out the tier lists. There's 7 tier lists provided, but Ogawa's isn't graded the same so initially it is left out just to see the difference. Initial Scale: S = 100 A = 90 B = 80 C = 70 D = 60 Average Scale: S = 100 A+ = 98 A = 95 A- = 92 B+ = 88 B = 85 B- = 82 C+ = 78 C = 75 C- = 72 D+ = 68 D = 65 D- = 62 F = 55 Averaged Tier List Placement: Eddie: S,S,S,S,S,S = 600 (100) = S Testament: S,S,S,S,S,S = 600 (100) = S Slayer: A,S,A,S,A,B = 550 (91.6) = A- Potemkin: A,S,S,A,A,B = 550 (91.6) = A- Jam: A,A,A,A,A,B = 530 (88.3) = B+ Baiken : B,S,S,A,A,C = 530 (88.3) = B+ Millia: B,S,B,A,C,A = 510 (85) = B May: A,B,A,A,B,B = 510 (85) = B Axl: B,A,B,B,B,C = 480 (80) = B- / C+ A.B.A.: A,A,C,B,C,C = 470 (78.3) = C+ Zappa: B,B,B,B,C,C = 460 (76.6) = C+ / C Venom: B,B,C,B,B,C = 460 (76.6) = C+ / C Robo-Ky: C,B,B,B,C,C = 450 (75) = C OS: B,B,C,B,C,C = 450 (75) = C Faust: C,A,C,B,C,C = 450 (75) = C Sol: B,C,C,C,C,C = 430 (71.6) = C- / D+ Ky: B,C,C,C,C,C = 430 (71.6) = C- / D+ Dizzy: C,B,C,C,C,C = 430 (71.6) C- / D+ Chipp: C,C,C,C,D,C = 410 (68.3) = D+ I-No: D,C,C,C,D,C = 400 (66.6) = D+ / D Anji: C,D,D,D,C,C = 390 (65) = D Bridget: D,D,D,D,D,D = 360 (60) = D- / F Johnny: D,D,D,D,D,D = 360 (60) = D- / F With Ogawa's Tier List Included: Eddie: 700 (100) = S Testament: 698 (99.7) = S- / A+ Slayer: 648 (92.6) = A- Potemkin: 642 (91.7) = A- Jam: 628 (89.7) = A- / B+ Baiken : 625 (89.3) = A- / B+ Millia: 605 (86.4) = B+ / B May: 605 (86.4) = B+ / B Axl: 568 (81.1) = B- A.B.A.: 562 (80.3) = B- / C+ Venom: 552 (78.9) = C+ Zappa: 548 (78.3) = C+ Robo-Ky: 542 (77.4) = C+ OS: 542 (77.4) = C+ Faust: 538 (76.9) = C+ / C Sol: 522 (74.6) = C / C- Ky: 518 (74) = C / C- Dizzy: 518 (74) = C / C- Chipp: 502 (71.7) = C I-No: 488 (69.7) = C- / D+ Anji: 478 (68.3) = D+ Bridget: 448 (64) = D / D- Johnny: 442 (63.1) = D / D- Rounded to Whole Numbers then Rounded to Grade: Eddie = 100 = S Testament = 100 = S Slayer = 93 = A- (+1) Potemkin = 92 = A- Jam = 90 = A- / B+ Baiken = 89 = B+ (+1) Millia = 86 = B (+1) May = 86 = B (+1) Axl = 81 = B- (-1) A.B.A. = 80 = B- / C+ Venom = 79 = C+ (+1) Zappa = 78 = C+ Robo-Ky = 77 = C+ (-1) Order-Sol = 77 = C+ (-1) Faust = 77 = C+ (-1) Sol = 75 = C Ky = 74 = C (-1) Dizzy = 74 = C (-1) Chipp = 72 = C- I-No = 70 = C- / D+ Anji = 68 = D+ Bridget = 64 = D (-1) Johnny = 63 = D- (+1) Averaged Tier List: S: Eddie, Testament A-: Slayer, Potemkin A-/B+: Jam B+: Baiken B: Millia, May B-: Axl B-/C+: A.B.A. C+: Venom, Zappa, Robo-Ky, Order-Sol, Faust C: Sol, Ky, Dizzy C-: Chipp C-/D+: I-No D+: Anji D: Bridget D-: Johnny More Simplified and if we just round up the in-between characters (Jam/ABA/I-No) S: Eddie, Testament A: Slayer, Potemkin > Jam B: Baiken > Millia, May > Axl > A.B.A. C: Venom, Zappa, Robo-Ky, Order-Sol, Faust > Sol, Ky, Dizzy > Chipp > I-No D: Anji > Bridget > Johnny -The only "change" with Ogawa's list included is Venom ever so slightly passes Zappa, which since they were tied in the initial list if I switched places for them it wouldn't be a "noticeable" change at all. -And I guess before rounding and simplifying things you could say Eddie pulled slightly above Testament. ADDED: Tier List based on how much the "difference" is between the characters, if we just say +1 difference = a new tier. S: Eddie, Testament (diff. S and A+ = 7.1) A+: Slayer, Potemkin (diff. A+ and A = 2) A: Jam, Baiken (diff. A and A- = 2.9) A-: Millia, May (diff. A- and B+ = 5.3) B+: Axl, A.B.A. (diff. B+ and B = 1.4) B: Venom, Zappa (diff. D+ and D = 4.3) D: Bridget, Johnny Simplified: S: Eddie, Testament >>>>>>> A: Slayer, Potemkin >> Jam, Baiken >>> Millia, May >>>>> B: Axl, A.B.A. > Venom, Zappa > Robo-Ky, Order-Sol, Faust >>> C: Sol, Ky, Dizzy >> Chipp >> I-No > D: Anji >>>> Bridget, Johnny -Doing it this way does change up the tier list slightly than just the Averaged out one. -Baiken, Millia, May move up to A. Venom, Zappa, Robo-Ky, Order-Sol, Faust move up to B. I personally can't comment since I've never played GG competitively, but going by those other tier lists and what I've read or heard from people, it at least appears to remain "accurate" for what it's worth.
  4. I think it is quite the opposite. You might be able to watch for a little while in the beginning but after a certain amount of time you will have to pay no matter what. But I could be wrong since I obviously don't know Japanese to be able to read what it says on Nico. I do believe if you buy the ticket it allows you to watch the stream within a certain amount of time after the fact. Although I have no idea how that actually works, maybe someone else can confirm that or not. Otherwise, probably not. Although I won't be surprised if it shows up somewhere later "unofficially" since that's how things usually go unfortunately.
  5. Block A's bracket has been added to the first post, thanks to Leo7. Remember this is happening TONIGHT by NA time and goes into early tomorrow morning. For those who don't like the cost, it is probably going to be over 5+ hours of the highest level of BB we've seen so far, whereas going to the movies for 2 hours will probably cost you more than that. If you enjoy watching BlazBlue at all, I think it is worth the cost. Also remember this is the highest paying tournament so far in Japan, when normally they don't even receive cash prizes for other normal tournaments. Please don't restream this and support Arc System Works / BlazBlue Revolution, so that they might decide to do something like this again in the future.
  6. Courtesy of fubarduck: http://iplaywinner.com/news/2011/9/15/how-to-purchase-nico-nico-points-to-view-sbo-2011.html That is obviously directions for SBO2011, so PLEASE make note of these things instead: COST: 700yen / ~$8.50 - but unfortunately you'll need to purchase 1000yen (~$12.00) unless you already have leftover points since it is already Saturday in Japan so no presale 500yen cost. Link to PURCHASE points for ticket: http://live.nicovideo.jp/product/bluerevo Link to STREAM itself after purchasing ticket: http://live.nicovideo.jp/watch/lv85222923 Scheduled Time: (In Japan) SAT (3/24). 11AM-6PM (Until the end of the event) = FRIDAY (3/23 TONIGHT) 10PM-5AM EST / 9PM-4AM CST / 8PM-3AM MST / 7PM-2AM PST Brackets: Block A: http://challonge.com/burerevo Block B: http://challonge.com/bluerevob Block C: http://challonge.com/bluerevoc Block D: http://challonge.com/bluerevod Full Bracket (in Japanese): This could very well be the best BlazBlue tournament we will ever see, so I highly recommend people supporting it and watching the stream. EDIT: For those who don't like the cost, it is probably going to be over 5+ hours of the highest level of BB we've seen so far, whereas going to the movies for 2 hours will probably cost you more than that. 7. GGs Noel is more like a mini-Tager in my experience. I agree.
  8. Except I don't have a great connection. My speeds are slow as fuck, and my ping isn't anything amazing, if I remember we practically had the same ping. But like I said, if I can sit there and play EC people in good matches, how can that imply the netcode is bad if there's multiple examples of the game playing fine and not really laggy right there. Whereas if there are certain individuals who are consistently complaining about lag, is it more likely to be the netcode or their own connection if others can already attest to it not being the netcode that's the problem since they can play it good themselves. For what it's worth, I've never noticed a difference in the netcode between ANY of the BB games, but then again I don't play it nearly as much as some of the other guys/girls.
  9. Because it makes no sense. How can I sit there and play with most of the guys from NY/NJ with practically negligible amounts of lag, and try and say this game has bad netcode? I played against Judgemastar who lives in CA and while there was lag, it was still completely "playable" even though it was an EC to WC connection. So what do you think is more likely to be the cause, "bad netcode" OR all the other variables that has to do with people's connections when playing with each other? In my personal experience, I'm gonna lean towards everything but the netcode itself.
  10. Really? I mean....REALLY? It couldn't possibly be you, or the other person, or someone else on your net, or someone else on their net. It has to be the netcode that is "so bad", even though countless other people seem to be able to play fine on it. And the game apparently having bad netcode is the deciding factor to make you start to dislike the game? Ok. Deja vu.
  11. LOL, if at first you don't succeed, try, try again?
  12. I think it is more like what's the point of playing randoms if you can play people you know. Or at least what's the point of playing randoms in player matches when you could just do that in ranked. Any other reasoning against it is completely invalid since you can just make your own room anyway or at least send the randoms a message asking for an invite into their room.
  13. Are people still complaining about the private rooms? Make your own room, use your location as the title (US East), and wait in training mode. If people don't join then so be it. Or Play with people on your friend's list/use this thread/use the chatroom/ask people in the IRC maybe. Or Play Ranked....
  14. Also you could do CS2 Challenge #10 like kaeru mentioned in the first post, it is basically just like the combo you are already doing except it does more damage. -Drop the 2B after 5B since it isn't needed. -Add a 2nd j.4C before the j.D. -After 2B add 623B before the 2nd 6C part.
  15. Thread updated / friend requests and chat invites sent to everyone so far.
  16. Just to note, taking what was shown in the combo video and basically Dora's twitter combo, you can actually build 50+ Heat off CH 6C from P2 Starting Position to combo into Ashura for more damage than the combo they did in the video. Not sure why they didn't come up with it in the video since they obviously came up with the same versions off FC j.623B and FC 3C. P2 Starting Position: (CH) 6C>B Nail Cancel>d.6C>(IAD) j.4C>j.623B>(d.5C)>6D>623B>2B>5B>j.B>j.4C>dj.B>dj.4C>dj.C>B Nail>5A>Explosion>5C>2C>Ashura = [6,461] / 52 Heat / 1 Seal It can also work in the corner as well if you 7 jump the j.4C. And the IAD is optional or not needed at all for this combo. And since CH 6C in the corner hasn't been covered, Corner: (CH) 6C>B Nail Cancel>d.5C>2C>623B>5B>6C>7j.4C>j.623B>6C>j.B>j.4C>j.C>5A>5B>j.A>j.B>j.4C>dj.4C>dj.C = [6,045] / 56 Heat / (Note: Air enders into j.623B will allow them to tech before an Ashura can hit.) Since the first combo works in the corner you could always do that for more damage, but since it is only 400 or so more it might only be good if it is going to kill. So I'm looking for anyone to come up with a more damaging CH 6C corner combo that builds it's own meter for Ashura OR that just outright does more damage anyway. Needs to be over 6.4k. Hopefully 7k is possible, cause that would be one hell of a punish even though 6k is amazing anyway. Also here would be a seals version: (CH) 6C>B Nail Cancel>d.5C>2C>623B>2B>5B>j.B>j.4C>dj.B>dj.4C>dj.C>B Nail>5A>Explosion>6D>C Nail>6D>C Nail>5D = [5,043] / 49 Heat / 3 Seals There's probably a 4 seal version that someone can come up with that is still damaging and not some basic 4 Seal off CH 6C.
  17. Now I feel like an asshole, lol. GGs again to everyone in Kurushii's stream room.
  18. Match by Match Results LK vs. TD (Round 1): LK: ●○●○●○●●○●●●○●○○● TD: ○●○●○●○○●○○○●○●●○ LK wins 10-7. ------ Haven vs. LostSoul (Round 1): Haven: ○○○○○●○●○●○○○ LostSoul : ●●●●●○●○●○●●● LostSoul wins 10-3
  19. ^ If that is your problem then this could potentially help. And for what it's worth, following the actual Microsoft support process provided from the 360 link to whatever site on the computer, should solve any problems or at least setup your 360 correctly on your network. Run the connection test on your 360, it should give some website to go to on your computer, from there follow the steps EXACTLY as the site tells you.
  20. Was that packet loss due to outdated Java? If not, there is something not right about your connection. Otherwise, those numbers are fine.
  21. I got 1ms for jitter to the same place with relatively the same ping, but I have Verizon DSL and live in MD. While I can't say for certain if 8ms is bad, it sure can't be good I guess, lol. EDIT: And just to note for everyone, it would probably be better to run multiple tests, and even to multiple servers to give you a better idea of how your connection turns out. The real problems would be if anyone got packet loss that isn't caused by outdated Java or excessively high ping within a reasonably short distance, as well as a fairly high jitter of course.
  22. Can't stress this enough. I have first hand experience with the difference between fast speeds and a stable connection. It might say what ping you got on there, but everyone should really do the actual pingtest instead. I have DSL with slow speeds but the connection is good, wanted to switch to Cable with MUCH faster speeds. Had it installed and went to pingtest and play against others and the connection itself wasn't as good as DSL even though the speeds were 3 to 5 times faster. Thus my reason for sticking with DSL, until FiOS becomes available in my particular area. www.pingtest.net
  23. I can usually play around this time, but I'm uploading, not that it helps you. And my bad to psycofang for not seeing your message the other night. I was in the psn chat and playing other people so I guess I missed the message popup.
