I got a question about Venues... I own a decent collection of fighting games, and am interested in bringing them to some local meet-ups for some casual play/demonstrations/whatever. What would be a good means of connecting to people about securely setting something up? I hardly know anyone outside of Dustloop and GameFAQs, so I'm just wondering where to go/what to do/who to talk to about it.

I get the impression that Sol's VA was in Digimon at some point, along with Eddie's VA... that's my hunch at least.

As someone who has an extremely low tolerance for stress... I can't really give any advice except that you learn to focus on the game itself. The more you get used to a thing, the more you expect it to happen, the less it surprises you. If too many things surprise you, or if too many things stress you out... at the very least you are inexperienced. So you need to get that experience so that less things surprise you. Say you're not used to people rushing you down or IADing in your face... that's stressful in and of itself. Getting used to it is just something you need to do as part of an aggressive game. If you can block a lengthy series of attacks without flinching or losing your cool and bursting, then you can keep your cool in a tournament, I believe.

I talked about the whole "talking heads problem" in GGXrd that harkens back to Street Fighter IV which has no fight intros like BlazBlue does. According to older GG interviews, Daisuke said they still haven't wrapped their heads around designing everything in 3D (and only started hiring experts for Unreal Engine recently), and much later they learned how to do new things that other 3D developers never even CONSIDERED doing... 1. It's a lot of effort to set those intros up system-wise and fit all that in to the game as a staple since they're working with models, not just sprites anymore. 2. What with Danger-time, you can't exactly stage clashes yourself anymore. (Not to mention they haven't exactly fixed all the collision issues with Blitz Shield yet, as you can still glitch with Potemkin, and Dragon Installed Sol's Head is still missing during Pote's IK). For now at least, Story Mode is what it is and it's the best we'll probably get for now. I'm sure they'll think of something.

Look on the bright side, at least the dub is better than Guilty Gear Zex.

Semi-related, so I'll post it here. I got to talk to David Vincent this year (and got his autograph btw)... and I put a bee in his bonnet. He will "consider" voicing Guilty Gear characters in the future if there is an audition for such.

Okay I have a huge headache on my hands. I'm trying to invite a pair of PS4 users to my private room, but no matter how many times they search for my ID, pass, room name, etc, they can't find it. Not only that, but I send them invitations and it doesn't seem to work. Can someone maybe explain what players are supposed to do for Crossplay room setup? There's like Two ways to make a lobby: Player Match (Triangle) and Quick Lobby (X button) from within any lobby. I'm seriously trying to figure all this out, so any of you guys who have PS3 PS4 regulars please explain this.

I'm Writing Words About Learning Guilty Gear. Feedback Appreciated.
Blade replied to Pichy's topic in Guilty Gear General
How I learned Guilty Gear: *mashes buttons till the other guy stops moving* ...But seriously, playing SNK games like KOF and Samurai Showdown helped. -
It's related so I will link this stuff: http://gear-project.tumblr.com/tagged/GG+Stages http://gear-project.tumblr.com/tagged/GG+World Of all the stages, I think GGX Hell is my favorite, though most of the GG1 stages never had names.

Today I got stuck against a really aggressive in-your-face Sol who kept following everything up with his 5K or Bandit Revolver up close. I even tried using BlitzShield against his semi-predictable Bandit Bringer, but for some reason his moves were so tight together it didn't come out when I did it. Sol's j.P is especially annoying too.

Can someone please give me some tips and pointers on how to deal with neutral situations or when opponents IAD at me? I am terrible at using Bedman's 6P as I don't really know what I can do with it or what other anti-airs he has. I've been dealing with a lot of aggressive players who mash j.P a lot or do very tight guard strings that I can't seem to get out of. Just some good ways to get out of pressure or jump attacks in to a quick combo would help. I end up getting stuck blocking on the ground a lot with people jumping at me.

My main issue is offense with her, as her IAD mixups really kill me more than Disc Oki and Digitalis alone. If you respect the disc, you can get away with jump FD blocking it... if Disc is midscreen, I got away with jumping backwards blocking I find that some aggressive Millia players forget Bedman can throw a Standing P or Crouching P or any of his 2H/1H/3H ground pokes in their rushdown if they're on the ground... 2D sometimes also works if they're some distance away. For Guardstrings I've been learning to do c.5S > f.5S > (mixup) <6H, 2H pokes, or special of choice> c.5S > 2D > Special of Choice or c.5S > f.5S > 2S > (mixup) also seems to work and c.S > 5H (both hits) > 1H > Special of Choice as well. Haven't quite figured out what to do about Moon or Pin air to ground attacks yet... as Bedman doesn't seem to have many anti-air or anti-IAD tools other than gambling with a jump throw.

I looked in to that years ago, but so far I haven't found any evidence that Sheer Heart Attack had a bar code number by that sequence (and I checked LP barcodes too). It might be a bootleg (not to insult Daisuke). In other news, it's Baiken's Birthday! And I wrote an article on Fake OutRages (my apologies to Ed Chang)...

^I've encountered this... it baffles me too. I only use Loser Stays for my own sake, since I play against players better than me sometimes, and I hate waiting to play.

I had a real mess on my hands last night. I set up a casual room so I could get to know some of the players in my area. All of a sudden a bunch of people start joining my room... That was fine, for a while... but they kept playing their own matches in the room, not talking to me or anything. I let things be for a while, since I wanted to get some matches in too... but it started getting late and I was getting tired, so I warned people a bunch of times that I'm calling it quits and disbanding the room. Nobody listened. They just kept right on joining and playing matches. I was tired and I had to pull the plug. I hate doing that to people especially in the middle of a match but nobody was listening to me. Any advice for future when hosting rooms in GGXrd?

Bedman Q&A/FAQ thread: People play this guy I swear!
Blade replied to Poultrygeist's topic in Bedman
Uh... you mean because Elphelt's grenades have a time limit or can be shot by her gun? Sorry, I didn't know about this 'trigger warning' thing. I just want to know how to deal with projectiles that hit twice in a delayed manner (i.e. she throws it, I end up having to block it, and then I have to block the explosion later, which gives me next to no time to set up another Deja Vu). -

I can see how I-No would be an exception to that, but the players I was up against pretty much didn't know what they were doing so... enhhh... I just find 'coward tactics' annoying (twitch bursting, running away, spamming projectiles, and random pokes), particularly against a really bad Millia player I know. It's hard not to fight these guys since they keep challenging me without training first. :/ I definitely want to learn how to use Bedman properly now though, particularly his 3H, 1H, and 2H zoning tools and to improve my defenses and setups with him. I'd say right now I have the hardest time against Elphelt's Grenades. -

I just learned Hemi Jack is AWESOME against Projectile spam if you set it up right. Particularly Venom and I-No. -
I figure I've been ignoring this thread long enough. http://gear-project.tumblr.com/post/106081083329/guilty-gear-xrd-timeline I'll post a more "concise" version of GGXrd's Arcade Mode Timeline of events later.

Bedman Q&A/FAQ thread: People play this guy I swear!
Blade replied to Poultrygeist's topic in Bedman
In terms of Distance and projectiles: I usually get hit by Ky's Stun Edge at mid-range (like right outside his f.S poke range). Also I get nailed a lot by Vapor Thrust mash if I try crossups or just getting close. For Elphelt: I always struggle with her Grenade lockdown. Whether it's high grenade to stop me from jumping or doing anything in the air or if she throws low grenade and keeps me blocking. Grenade spam in general, really. In general, the players I fight get really scared of me and generally burst right away, only to keep me running after them while they spam projectiles. It usually turns in to a poking game with them (i.e. they don't even bother with combos and just hope for random counter hit pokes and such). -
Bedman Q&A/FAQ thread: People play this guy I swear!
Blade replied to Poultrygeist's topic in Bedman
Couple things: I keep getting disrespected during Deja Vu okizeme (even on YRC)... any way to prevent this? I need some solid setups for Deja Vu that don't involve seals getting erased if possible. I've been gambiting on Bedman's backdash and forward dash too much. What do I do against projectile spam? Ky and Elphelt seem to shut me down a lot. Even Millia gives me lots of pressure and random pokes. What to do once a player learns how to BlitzShield Task C / Other tasks? Also seems like I get "beat out" or miss my attacks whenever Task A' connects... any advice for how to respond once it hits? (Especially if it connects while someone else is jumping or in mid-air?)
