Would people be interested in a BlazBlue Quote Project?

Library Mode confirmed for English version of BlazBlue Chrono Phantasma Extend, guys. Less work for me (or anyone else) to do. I'm still thinking about doing stuff for Sound Test though (mostly for fighting games that don't have it, BBCPEX, GGXrd-S- or GGXrd-R-). Not sure I would like to do it for things like System Announcer DLC Voicework though, since that's too generic. Unless you want to do an Add-lib sort of thing for that? -
Just think of it this way, this thread is a form of therapy. Some people NEED it (trust me).

Here's a series: Not owning the latest fighting game/console... ever. Not living in Japan... ever. Not going to Loketests... ever. Not being able to give feedback on Loketests... NEVER ever. Watching as a game you never played ends up a "ghost town" because nobody else is playing it (even if you like it and no one else does). I wish GG Isuka had netplay, seriously.

Couple things I'd love to see in GGXrd -Revelator- (or followups): ---Isuka Mode (online or offline, use the Taunt Button to turn + do lane changes/lane+cancels). ---3 on 3 Mode (Tag Team or KOF Elimination Style) ---M.O.M. Revisions (Let players earn medals from opponents online if its a MOM room, Red Medals for P1 Blue Medals for P2) ---Boost Mode (like M.O.M. earn medals, beat up thugs and stuff like in GG Judgment, also have 3 players join in at any time online)- 72 replies

I'd seriously like to see how this Revelator 5D dash cancel can be implemented by Bedman. Next time the opportunity presents itself, please do give it a try guys. I'm not so good at using his 6H in corner Dust Dash Combos, so just some discussion on it would be cool.

I still can't seem to get any decent win counts beyond 30 wins without the A.I. going nuts on me and spamming. Guess I'll just have to get stronger.

What's everyone's impression of the AC+R Steam port?

Question for you guys: AC+R for PS3 (patched) crashes a lot on "Classic Stages". Is there any difference between this and the PS3 version as far as bugs go? Also I noted that some of the stages are different from original Accent Core (Grave had a red sky in that for example... this is dark like Slash or something). -

Yeah, but also pre-existing ones like people are listing. Basically voices you heard in BB that sound like they'd be in GG too (or were in GG). Also I know a few JP voices from BB were in GGXrd: Makoto > Libraria Azrael > Raven/Crow Kuruwaba Ragna-the-Bloodedge > "That Man" Relius Clover > Venom

@Vulcan: By any chance do you know any voices from BB Alter Memory that sound like they'd be in GGXrd's dub? I know Wendee Lee was Valentine for GG2 and a few others too, I'm just wondering (and still looking for Sol's VA).

No, what's disrespectful is when the other guy has "Random Select" enabled and every character RNG picks for them they're good at and the one character they're not AS good at still beats you in a big way! ^This happened to me, though to be perfectly honest I kinda wish I could know everyone as well as I used to, though I will probably never learn Millia since her IAD stuff is way too hard. Still, anyone who can pick ANY character in the roster and be good with them is either a genius, a monster, or a player who plays GG or BB (or anyother fighting game) wayyy too much!

Technically speaking Mirrors are the best way to learn your character, especially if the other guy is better at your character than you are. Annoying or not, it's a good lesson to learn. You might even pick up on stuff you didn't know you could do before, like I did the other day with Bedman and Task A' Okizeme or 6H Oki. Different players have different styles, even if it's the same character. Any time I get my butt whupped, I have to stay positive and say "I'm learning stuff".

If they're resetting you, stop teching, calm down and block. In GGXrd 'not teching" is probably one of the safest things you can do because OTG (off the ground) combos have crazy proration. In BB, delayed wakeup or a well-timed safety roll also works. Basically, if their stuff is air tight, make some space with Barrier/FD, wait for them to make their own moves, if they miss or do something risky, take advantage of it. Sometimes the best defense is a good offense and a little patience. If they're doing 'standing resets' learn to mash out and barrier jump/FD jump. Otherwise know which of your normals come out the fastest in any neutral situation. If they do overheads a lot, block high or jump and FD block. In GGXrd, if they really want to nail you down, go for a Crouching BlitzShield on reversal, that will get them to back off. If you're up against a really good player, the goal shouldn't be to beat them, it should be to find openings in what they're doing and learn ways around it. Make sure they don't get a perfect win first... then, when you can consistently adjust to what they're doing, figure out how to punish.

Sacred Order of Holy Knights info. I can't say for sure how long or even IF Bernard was THE Commander of the Sacred Order before Kliff, since Kliff was already an old man by the time Ky took over. Not to mention GGXrd's Library isn't 100% accurate, given some data conflicts with GG Bible info. I can only say that Bernard was a commanding officer and one of Ky's advisers/teachers and later became his Butler.

I said this in chat, and I said it in the 'other GGXrd' thread, but I didn't really explain it much. My predictions thus far: Jam Kuradoberi ---she's the most popular character in Japan (or was, based on older info), not to mention she's also "Chinese" like Faust is purported to be (so she will be most likely the character opposite Faust). Dizzy ---besides everyone else "begging for her", here's another (more valid) reason: I have reason to believe info (from a reliable source) that says that in prototype versions of GGXrd, there were unused Winquotes of Jam and Dizzy (either if you defeated them, or they defeated you, I'm not sure which). But these 'unused winquotes' further increase the possibility that these two characters (who have been in production since 2011) will be announced. Furthermore there's evidence to suggest ARCSys is in fact working on Gold/Darkside character color palettes due to ripped disc colors being found unused in GGXrd Sign! Last but not least, aside from these initial predictions... I am also hoping for Justice (with or without OutRage armor) and "Dark Elphelt" to make an appearance later on as possible bosses... If any part of these predictions ring true, I would love to be told! Oh yeah and before I forget here's another tidbit of information: It takes 2 months to work on GGXrd 3D models, and an additional 2 months to work out their 3D animation... so that's 4 months per character, usually one or more individuals work on 1 character... so keep that in mind (Source: GDC Presentation on GGXrd). I say 4 months, but they also said that the process is "getting faster" as they get used to doing it.- 72 replies

For BlazBlue, Drive was the gimmick. For Guilty Gear, Attack Levels are more/less the gimmick. See, back in the first Guilty Gear, everybody had a chargeable attack. Whether it was Volcanic Viper, Stun Edge, or Living Lancer, even Pote's Slide Head was chargeable (it was called Graviton back in the day). Basically nearly everyone has moves that have chargeable/upgradable states. Sol: charges with Dragon Install (somewhat like Order-Sol's gimmick) Ky: charges with Stun Edge/Split Ciel May: relies on "delays" in her attacks (6P, Dolphin delays, ball bounces) Johnny: relies on coins to power up his Mist Finers Jam: relies on kick cards Baiken: relies on guard cancels/attack seals A.B.A.: relies on blood packs/super armor Zappa: relies on Souls and ghost randoms Testament: relies on Voodoo dolls for traps Venom: relies on balls and charging balls Zato: relies on Eddie Anyone who doesn't have "item based" gimmicks pretty much has their own style of play which makes them unique (I-No, Bedman, Justice, Kliff to name some), and is also something that makes GG different from BB for the simple reason that the characters are not "tied down" by gimmicks, and can have their own style with or without gimmicks.

My problem is what to do AFTER you IB. More often than not I'm stuck in a 50/50 situation where the more aggressive player wins. I'm not very aggressive, so I often get punished for not hitting first. With Sol or Potemkin it's easy just IB and VV or Buster them. But what about someone like Bedman? What sort of responses on IB can he give? -
Can you please explain what Tortoise Shell does exactly? It mentions Armor, but is that just an HP buff or is it actual super armor?

Welp, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that Sol's VA is NOT Nolan North, Troy Baker, or Steve Blum! I was watching some video samples of their voice work and it's definitely not them, despite their varied talents. If this guy has voiced RPG characters, I'm gonna keep looking!

I find it highly ironic that you guys are talking about Ghosts and Organs, but you hardly ever talk about GG2 Overture's RTS mechanics lol As for the Ghosts "not killing anyone" makes sense since they ARE Ghosts...
