  1. A "killer queen" eh? I wonder if that says something about why That Man wasn't the final boss of Overture.
  2. Hate to ask this again, but does anyone have gamesave files for the PC version of GG Isuka? A friend of mine was looking for one.
  3. Yeah um...you're is a contraction for "you are" so you are welcome also works. "Your" is possessive.
  4. Yes there is a GG Bible. No I didn't start this forum, a guy by the name of Tragic did. I'm a longtime member. But I do plan on making a Canonical fact website eventually with Raging Tofu. I'm not sure what you mean by privileges as most moderators have those and you just need to contribute more I guess.

  5. I've been trying to keep my friend updated with any and all tips and strategies for his character-specific play. Since his main is Millia it's hardly a problem, but a lot of the gameplay we played together centered around stuff we saw and tried in videos. Is there a way/method to 'teach outside the box' if you know what I mean? That is to say...making up your own combos or getting more creative with a character? He's gotten a lot better when we last played and I'm glad he finally has AC+ but...I'm hoping to take it a little further than that. (At least for him, since he seems to be better than me with some characters but worse than me in others).
  6. Since I mentioned it in another thread...I think the Vizuel (Valentine's Servants) are hot. We need more fanart of them.
  7. I like to think that there is a subspecies beyond Gear that is both magical being in essence and humanoid. While Sol destroys gears that behave as weapons, the definition of that changed when he met Dr. Paradigm (irony ensues), Paradigm was manufactured but when Justice was disabled and then eventually killed, he no longer had the means to function in terms of self-preservation...at first. Two things to consider: 1. Gears have the potential to develop cognitive capability regardless of their species form or initial programming. What sort of interval of time it takes for an incapacitated Gear to become cognitive and develop things like speech pattern, self-preservation, self-education, etc etc...is unknown. 2. Dizzy is unique in that she has the ability to "revive" downed Gears, this was not said of Justice or any other Gear (not even Sol). Not much has been stated regarding this ability. Whether it is pure resurrection or re-activation or perhaps even total reprogramming, we aren't sure. Not to mention we have nothing to go on regarding what Sin is exactly. While he is "classified" as a Gear...it can't be truly said he is "all Gear". What's more...we know nothing about Dizzy's composition as the so-called "half-human-half-Gear". Another thing to ponder is the idea that Sol refers only to his "body" as Gear...not his mind or spirit or anything else. We don't know what the end results portend to.
  8. Somehow I disagree, Zazz. Sol killed Valentine. Does this need debate? I hope not. Sol has been, for lack of a better definition, something of a Gear Regulator. He keeps (or tries at least) to keep the balance of power in mankind's favor. If someone like Dizzy comes along and proclaims pacifism, he has no need to refuse it, though he is still very cautious around her. The same could be said of Dr. Paradigm and Sin even. When someone like Valentine comes along with extreme behavior that includes both human and Gear genocide which has nothing to do with her true intentions (e.g. getting past the Cube)...then something like that pushes what he has in mind out the window, forcing him to act. It's also part of the reason he hasn't been able to figure out That Man yet. Unless something big happens, it's hard to track the guy he wants down.
  9. Just beat the Justice Mission (Mission 30) three times with different characters. Same with anyone else.
  10. In case it isn't obvious, Charged Stun Edge is ideal as Okizeme pressure (on opponent wakeup after knockdown). In fact once it's out and you're close enough, FRC isn't always necessary unless you want to be safe. Just don't try doing it up close when they aren't knocked down on the ground or you'll get punished. 5C Far poke>S Stun Edge FRC is better in those situations. Air CSE can be TKed so that it comes out low and should be FRCed so you are safe on the other hand. Also don't forget that you can "float" ground CSE (jump immediately after) after FRC for some neat situations. Also that it can be negative edged for double CSE FRC pressure. Stuff I do: TK Stun Raise Forcebreak>Air CSE> land and several options open up since you're controlling airspace: 6H shenanigans, Greed Sever stuff, or combo pokes into sweep.
  11. Flament Nagel was a relic from the Crusades, so yes, this should be obvious that Kliff knew of him. I'm sure Sol knew of him and Ky as well, since there was a lot going on back then.
  12. Don't mash, but you should know the properties of S and H Vapor Thrust. S has good popup on counterhit and should be the main source of your Javelin loops since it's lower than H Vapor, H Vapor is useful for most 2H or midair situations or as a high or somewhat unsafe anti-air, Lighting Javelin FRC followup keeps you in the air longer and gives you Stun Edge or Airdash/Jump options if you need it to be safe. The hardest gatling for Ky I had to learn was 2P, 5S(close), 2H, H Vapor to continue his Javelin loops, just keep practicing. Javelin should only be used as part of combos or in Air-to-air situations and only then when you can FRC into something else otherwise just falling back down for normal Vapor Thrust is ideal. Also, S Vapor tends to work best from the ground, and in corners the FRC appears to come out sooner but it's the same, just do something like S Vapor>Javelin FRC j.S S Vapor>Javelin so that you don't have much trouble... (if you have AC+ turn on Easy FRC and set it to 5 Frame window to see where you need to do the FRC if you don't know, the active frames turn blue to make it easier...then turn it off when you get it down). It's 222H...sorry if that was somehow misunderstood...it should be in the AC+ movelist now. Best for any knockdown and even long distance knockdowns though the damage doesn't seem like much, it adds up if you do it enough. You can try GS>Sacred Edge>5Sc>2H>H Vapor for something different...or even Lighting Sphere Forcebreak. Be creative. Ky is one of the fortunate characters in the game to not have to rely on one specific methodical style of gameplay. He can zone, he can poke, he can pressure, he can play keepaway. The only drawback is his damage isn't as great in most situations but if you can outwit the opponent, that's not so bad.
  13. Grr...that reminds me yet again that I have to post a summary of Night of Knives 3....I'll try and work on it when I get some time (been trying to fix my PC so I'm preoccupied).
  14. Well, that tears it then. What say you, fellow info-getters (Raging Tofu/Suzaku/Other people)? How shall we proceed? If we make a separate thread/group of threads (and I suggest we discuss who would be the chosen moderators) we should organize this stuff in such a way as to be easily accessible. What's more...I'm almost positive there's going to be questions regarding the plot (even if I or someone else already provided answers) so there could be a QnA Thread to keep all that stuff nice and tidy. If some new information is provided based on a question, we add the info to the plot specific threads accordingly, how's that sound? I'm not the one to be talking to regarding reorganization of forum threads though. You might wanna talk to Gwyrgyn about that. Although to be honest, me and Raging Tofu were working on a site with character and plot relevant info that's still in the works. It would be even further detailed and organized, but like I said, it's still in the works. There's a lot of information to wade through and sort, so in the interim, keeping stuff in separate threads is not a bad idea.
  15. I liked it...when my PC worked.
  16. @Mr. Bad Guy: Regarding those events, it's in Sol's bad ending that That Man gives the hint. The idea is that his Past Self and Future Self are NOT his Present Self, as only the Present can have influence on either of these. Basically, Sol denies that the death of his Past Self has anything to do with his Present Self since he exists in his own timeline. If you can picture: ------- Basic Timeline -------\ ----------------Modified Timeline Sol A goes through the Crusades without Incident only to witness his past self get killed. Sol B goes through the Crusades and gets killed. Because Sol A went into his own past, another timeline possibility was generated, namely Sol B's present. This is the Modified Timeline. If Sol and I-no had not gone to the past, Sol B would not exist. It was I-no's goal to get Sol A to accept Sol B's death as his own past self, when in reality Sol A existed without such an incident. Another way of putting it, you cannot travel to the future and visit yourself. This is because your Present Self is moving outside the normal flow of time which is measured by change. If you move outside the flow of change, you cease to change, or more specifically you cease to exist on the plane of existence. What's more, the Present is constantly flowing towards the future, so any actions the Present Self takes will immediately effect the Future or at the very least have long term effects towards it. The Past Self is defined mostly by Memory and Recollection. Once something happens, it cannot unhappen in the course of events, no matter what sort of Undo or Apology or Takeback is made, it happened in existence. That's not to say stuff can't be psychologically forgiven, but that reality functions on an action>reaction basis. Lastly, once something occurs, it cannot occur the exact same way again, no matter how precisely calculated. Throw a stone in a pond and it creates ripples, you can take the stone out of the pond, but you can't take away the ripples that were generated. In this case, Sol B was one of the ripples. You can even throw the stone in again, but it won't generate the exact same ripples as before, or even land in the same point on water's surface as before. As to whether or not it's possible for Sol A to BECOME Sol B...well, it does seem like Cogito Ergo Sum in reverse. Also, I asked Zazz for a list of the U.S. voices. He should have it somewhere.

Zato-1/Eddie: Original voice Kaneto Shiozawa (R.I.P.): This guy was Aries Mu from Saint Seiya originally, Grey Fox in Metal Gear Solid, Devimon in Digimon Adventure 2, Rei in Hokuto no Ken, and many many others. He has several successors to take over his role, some famous, some not, but he will be missed. He was also the original voice of Dr. Baldhead. Koyasu Takehito succeeded Shiozawa as of GGXX, and has just an extensive resume, particularly he is known for voicing Il Palazzo from Excel Saga, Mu Lla Flaga from Gundam Seed, Zechs Merquise from Gundam Wing, Wyvern Rhadamanthys from Saint Seiya, and Lezard Valeth from the Valkyrie Profile games. Dr. Baldhead/Faust: Takashi Kondou plays both Faust and Potemkin at the same time, and he is the "Heaven or Hell, Duel 1, Let's Rock" Announcer for the original GGX. He's done some wacky voicework for several Anime but can do serious stuff too. His nickname is Kon-chan. I-no: Kikuko Inoue plays the voice of Belldandy (!?!) from Ah! My Goddess! She's also Miria from Claymore, Mizuho Kazami of Please! Teacher! (yes Pr0n much!), and she is the voice of Goddess Athena from Lunar: The Silver Star Story RPG. Johnny: Norio Wakamoto...what to say about him...the guy's done everything. He's Cell in Dragon Ball Z, Chaos in Final Fantasy Dissidia, Dracula in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Viper in Chrono Cross. Also he was once a member of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department's Anti-Riot Squad Division before becoming a voice actor. He's a Second Level at Kendo and Third Level Shorinji Kempo, so don't mess with him. Judgment: Takayuki Ideriha directed Guilty Gear Judgment much like Daisuke directs the other GG games. Justice: Yumiko Ogawa also voices April of the Jellyfish Pirates. Kliff Undersn: Original voice, Hatsuaki Takami, not much on him. Shigeru Sakano is the current voice, and he's done work in the Anime Ehrgeiz (not to be confused with the Squaresoft game). Also Age of Chaos and Sorcerer Hunters OAV. May: Satomi Koorogi actually voiced the original Baiken, but besides that she's Chi in Chi's Sweet Home (Aww! Kitty!), Menchi in Excel Saga (Nooo! ), Nina Tucker in Fullmetal Alchemist, Togepi and Pichu in Pokemon, but historically she did a Japanese Dubbing role for Tweety Bird in Looney Tunes cartoons. Millia Rage: Yuko Sumitomo voices Lilly in One Piece, the School Nurse in Real Bout High School, also did a voice in Battle Arena Toshinden 3. Also did voicework in Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and Neo Ranga. Raven: Hiroki Yasumoto, he also plays Crow (Kuruwaba?). He's Guile in Street Fighter IV, Alex in Tatsunoko vs Capcom, and does a lot of villain voices in the Super Robot Wars games. Slayer: Kayumi Iemasa has an extensive amount of miscellany roles. Particularly Puppet Master in the original Ghost in the Shell movie, but also played as Dark God Zophar in Lunar 2: Eternal Blue. He's the Japanese Dub of Bill in Kill Bill and Kill Bill 2...hehe. But also, Hideki in Chobits, Kyon in Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, "Clerk Sugita" in Lucky Star *rimshot*, and Leon Mishima in Macross Frontier. Testament: Originally voiced by Takami Akkun, not much on him. Akira Kobayashi is his current voice, and he's done a few things though he's better known for his Acting roles rather than voice roles. He sang a few songs for his movies "The Guitar-toting Rambler", and "Ginza's Whirlwind Child". His nickname is "Might Guy". He's a widower once married to famous singer Misora Hibari. Venom: Originally voiced by Mikio Yaeda, unknown. Currently voiced by Jyunichi Suwabe who has done quite a bit actually. Though he is known for his roles as Tseng in FFVII: Advent Children, Archer in Fate Stay Night, Cain Nightroad in Trinity Blood, He's also the Japanese voice of Balrog (Vega in U.S.) in Street Fighter IV. Zappa: Yuuji Ueda oh that loveable scamp! He is Keitaro Urashima in Love Hina. But he is also Sagara Senosuke from Rurouni Kenshin and Takeshi (Brock) from Pokemon. And that is all for now...hope you enjoyed it.
  18. Not exactly canonical anymore but worthy of fanfiction fodder at least (courtesy of Suzaku): *note that this points out a few glaring mistakes in the past on my part, so even I am not perfect* Prototype GG Character mentions: Millia: was originally a Brazillian Knife Fighter. (Now she summons knives from her hair.) May: used a large battle axe named Bohemian. Potemkin: Russian soldier who had an axe-scythe named Dreadnaught. Dr. Baldhead: Not quite as tall, but wore more of a Chinese outfit. No weapon name mention. Chipp: his arm blade was originally named Les Paul. Ky: was originally Russian (!?!), no mention of a weapon nickname.... Sol: Not too different, but slightly less bad natured. His sword had the word "Blazer" etched on it. This should clear a few things up. Also note that May's and Chipp's weapons are just called "Anchor" and "Blade" and so on....though it would've been nice to keep the names at least. Oh well.
  19. If you don't mind pooping magic, then go ahead. Though in all seriousness, the age of magic has brought about rather otherworldly beings into existence that wouldn't normally be in everyday life. Giant skeletons of old demons a millenia old bearing massive swords. A Chinese restaurant carved out of a still-living dragon (which apparently regenerates itself if they don't constantly serve dragon meat from its hide periodically). Demonic beings sealed in chains and nailed to the floor or pierced by several swords... And who knows what those Witch Villages tend to eat???
  20. If you can do better, Lil Sassy...do so.
  21. Someone do Tao doing "i can has cheezburgur" please.
  22. Suzaku, regarding the weapon names....did some of those names get retained in the GG mythos, for example, Sol's sword being nicknamed Blazer. I'm aware that I-no's Guitar is Marlene. But the idea that Chipp's arm blade being named Les Paul...sounds interesting.
  23. Man...even if it was only in the beta stage, I would've loved to play a demo of 3D GG prototype. SHOWTIME!! Also, some of those Linarts are just begging to be re-colored. *licks lips*
  24. I put an inquiry here: http://www.hongfire.com/forum/showthread.php?t=35389&page=32 And apparently the term is "Dakimakura" Human sized Hugging Pillow.
  25. Man...I dunno why but if I ever get a Joystick, it's gotta have a Sol versus Ky image in it...something epic. Perhaps in the GG2 Overture style.
