  1. I mained Hakumen in Ct, bad things happened to me. There's no way he'll be worse than CT Hakumen. It's not physically possible. So, it's not like I'll make a switch. He's the only character in the game that remotely interests me.
  2. 2A, 2A, Throw/Hop (hotaru/tsubaki/empty hop)/tk.tsubaki/renka/2b I still dont think Hakumen will just be degraded to zone. The wall bounce property leads me to believe they're letting us do more stuff off of Renka so we don't always have to go for kishuu/enma for BnB damage.
  3. Can we make this thread like the new information thread in the general discussion? (no posts except for new information ones?) 60+ page thread, 3 posts worth reading. Why the fuck did I comb through every single post?
  4. Holy shit that execution is boss. Is that tenchi?
  5. Dude, I have the entire series of Samurai Champloo on DVD. If yall wanted to watch it you coulda said something.
  6. His drive isn't the focal point of his game though. The focal point is meter management, imo.
  7. We're also close to 1000 posts. Columbia SC: When litchi spreads them Legs, You better Block
  8. Lord Byron, I think I remember smashing that nigga's free ass carl into the pavement.
  9. I dont understand what makes a counter "offensive" or "defensive" they're counters. Baiken's worked differently, but a counter is always defensive in nature.
  10. I I didn't mean to take this discussion in this direction. I was just saying that Hakumen is a defensive character for a whole bunch of reasions irrelevent to having counters, and I used Baiken as an example of a character who has good counters but has a whole lot of other things going on to make her more offensive.
  11. The whole point I was making was that having amazing counters =! Defensive character
  12. A Meaty J.2C space properly on Litchi's wakeup will eat through tsubami, create a projectile barrier and hit her in the mouth if she tries to reversal. if J.2C is faster, this technique only improves in strength against her. True, this is unique to litchi, but it is one example. and both j.2C and J.C have amazing priority. J.2C isn't used much over jump b anymore though because it's very slow now. This change means more J.2C again. And your logic is like "Ragna has a DP so *Never* be offensive against him. I've never ever watched a Japanese or otherwise, video of a pro level Hakumen that just turtles and runs away the entire match. only when they don't have meter. Maybe I am seeing things. His projectile barrier creates opportunities as much as it keeps people out. Hakumen isn't full-on offensive because TK Tsubaki/Hop Tsubaki/Hop Hotaru/Renka Mixups all require 3-4 stars of meter stocked up to make people afraid of your approach. I don't know, maybe I'm completely wrong here, but that's how I've seen it. And btw, Baiken has prolly the best counters I've ever seen in a 2D fighting game, and Baiken isn't a character that just sits on her ass all day.
  13. What I mean, is that I think they're trying to make Hakumen's low/no meter game more interesting for the player, so they can do more things. That doesn't mean 3-4k damage combos without meter. I think if they are making his C moves faster, and nerfing his meter gain, While I can see the possibility of him being a zony lame character, I can also see the possibility of the developers trying to make Hakumen more offensive, too. It all depends on the changes, but making 6B do more damage + faster C moves leads me to believe they want hakumen to build meter by actually attacking rather than staying away until he has 3-4 stars. Also, renka wallbounce sounds much more efficient. now you dont need to add guren afterwards to follow up, which means less meter required for that damage in particular. if you hit someone with 3C in CS and you have 2 stars, it's more effective to link into 2.b -> Gurren -> dash -> 5A -> ja -> j.b -> J.2a -> j.C than to just go into renka with no follow up. As I said before that's actually a decent buff if you can still dash forward and follow up like it were guren. They're also nerfing his defensive options with the exception of yukikaze (but we're not gonna count a 4 star super.) It seemed to me that his meter gain from damage dealing is pretty much the same, also. Like I said, I think they're trying to make him less turtley when he has no meter. But I can see how people get the opposite impression.
  14. But 2b could combo. This is interesting. in CS, both moves have the same startup (9 frames) This means frame data is being messed with or they are hard coding 3c to never ever combo into itself for whatever reason (I'm guessing they're making it purposely whiff on grounded opponents for whatever reason?)
  15. I think if they buffed up zantetsu and its startup by 3-4 frames, I wouldn't miss TK tsubaki. I've already seen some recent japanese Hakumen vids of people taking it in CS1. Edited because I'm terrible at writing what I want to say EDITED AGAIN: I wonder if they'll add some follow ups to 6B, too. They've already buffed it's damage. If 6B becomes more viable, the Tsubaki nerf doesn't hurt as much, either. EDIT EDIT EDIT: It would seem to me, they're giving hakumen more things to do without meter, but nerfing his meter gain, since he can do more things without it. If that makes sense.
  16. IMO, 4C is a good move. It's just situational. I equate 4C to a scalpal. If you're wild with it and wave it around, you're going to do more harm than good. but once you have a steady hand and apply some intelligence, you can get surgical with it. I dont think these loctest changes are *too* terrible. I can understand the enma change, so that you can't relaunch them into it again with 5C-> whatever. That shit was pretty insane damage. So Not *too* big of a deal. I like the renka wall bounce, that just means you dont have to add guren anymore to follow up from mid screen. I want to know if you can dash forward 5A/5B, j.a -> j.b -> j2.a -> J.C afterwards. It doesn't look like it'll be a great herpaderpa 2.star 4.5k damage launcher in the corner anymore though, which sucks. Slower meter gain, again, sucks. I honestly don't like the "no follows up after counter" It looks to me like they're trying to make 6C more important than a combo component normal. Overall I could possibly live with the changes, but I honestly want to follow up counters with something. Prorate the shit out of them if they must, it's just fun to combo after them.
  17. EDITED, nevermind. I can't read.
  18. Where was the notes about the Hakumen Drive nerfs? I didn't see them in the OP. Sigh. Not sure how I feel about them yet. I dont think these changes are in the right direction for H-Man. about 70-80% of the people posting in this thread dont belong here. They'd be better off at GameFAQS. Stay free, dustloop.
  19. Dumbass videos of me doing 1 dollar money matches with my close friend while we were drinking: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bP1SPLzhAt0 Critques welcome. Dropping combos like a boss and making wrong combo choices ftw. >_>;
  20. Would it be cool if I swung by this afternoon and played around with him?
  21. Mu's Zoning isn't that scary. Just be careful and you can get in on her. Mu needs a knockdown. Lambda on the other hand, I do not see how valk will ever have a good matchup with that hoe. He just seems like he'd have to commit to an approach that's extremely risky. Idk, though. It'd be interesting as shit.
  22. I didn't know you swung both ways Keyon, but you did the right thing. Venom *is* gay, so you have a chance.
  23. Now yall know the only person who's honestly going to be fucking with him for a good minute and put in the effort to play him will be me and maybe guide. Yall just gonna buy the character while yall pick the hoes with the titties and the rushdown
  24. I'm mad on so many levels that valkenhayn got delayed on 360. what the fuck man.
  25. Reposting this from the BB General Thread. Our very own Skeletal Minion, showing off his skill in BBCS at this week's AWA Grand Finals. I was the one making all the stupid hype commentary. Lol. I had to root against him, since it was my friend playing Litchi AWA Grand Finals in Atlanta, GA ConvoltedStyle AKA The Deadly Dolphin(LI) vs Skeletal Minion(HAK) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TaIJ5yJgAJ8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jKPnYVsz1c
