  1. Running is actually pretty baller in UMK3. Comparing a traditional dash to the UMK3 run system is like comparing polvoting to skiing. And yes, there are plenty of hardcore MK players around. People see the block button and say "fuck that, not playing." Thats fine and good, but it's also what has defined the series for a long time. I can honestly understand that a block button can turn people off. It's really not that bad once you've settled into the game a little. I'm speaking about UMK3, btw, which is an amazing game competitively. The thing about the run button in UMK3, is that you can use it to kara your jabs, which creates amazing pressure. The game has no overheads, which is why having all moves do chip damage is important. Honestly, the run button is pretty amazing. Reptile for example, can hit you with a forceball, juggle with another forceball, Jab you twice, kara them with the run, hit them with another couple jabs, kara run, juggle with forceball, then uppercut for some awesome damage. UMK3 is like super turbo in the sense that one combo from just about anyone and you take a huge amount of damage. Some characters do more than others of course, but in general it's a hefty sum of life. Not to mention UMK3 combos look hype as fuck. That being said, Yes, I understand people hate block buttons. I know I did too when I picked up UMK3 a couple months ago. But to be 100% real, the shit is pretty hype when you pick it up. Here's hoping that this new MK game can bring that awesomeness back, and there are a lot of juggles I saw in the gameplay footage that reminds me of UMK3 (fucking amazing game.)

Only with some of Hakumen's new tools. new J.C is going to be your staple in this matchup. you want to create distance to build meter, and constantly in the air to keep Litchi out till you got enough meter to hurt her. Sparing use of 4.C can be effective as well. Note: Sparing. Otherwise yes. also, since yukikaze catches low now and she's got you in a bad position; if you're feeling bold/desperate, try IBing on wake up into it.
  6. The thing is that in CT, it was already kinda inefficient, but with what Hakumen had to work with - You took your damage how you could get it. Now with the changes to his meter gain, it's hard to justify wasting the meter on it.

  11. Forward Fierce, Crouching Fierce, Fierce SRK does 330 damage, and it requires Zero meter. Forward Fierce is also safe on block. It's a 1 frame link, but I mean... It does as much damage as Fei's Naked Super, and you can fish for it when you have an opponent scared of cr.mk. Why the fuck does that do so much damage, easily hit confirmable, and safe on block? Is your opponent in footsie range, and downbacking, scared of godlike cr.mk? then throw out fw.HP. They blocked it? Oh well, time to take advantage of having a 3-frame jab... Or if I have meter throw out DP anyways, and fadc it. Or I can just mash throw button. Because i'm automatically in range to do so. Oh I decided to dp. Oh shit, they must've hit a button..   12. You'd be amazed at how much shit Ryu's Crouching Medium punch stops. Then you can combo it into itself, then finish it with a sweep for an untechable knockdown and a punish that just did as much damage as fei Long's BnB combo... Fei doesn't even get to start oki after Rekkas unless you in the corner.
  13. Pro Ryu Strats: vs Cammy - Cr.MP beats half her movelist, downback beats the rest of it - then just DP her Vs. Fei Long - Throw Fireball, buffer DP, if they chicken wing - mash it. If Fei Long actually knocks you down - Jump or mash dp depending on the situation Vs. Blanka - Mash Cr. Jab and slowly close distance. Cr. Jab stuffs blank balls. MK Fireball him to death at footsie range, he can't do anything about it. Basically, Ryu says: I mash cr.jab, cr.mp, fireball, cr.mk, and DP (then FADC it to ultra.) Who the fuck are you?
  14. I love HDR and ST. I was 6 year old kid and I'd pick guile and play my dad in World Warrior all day, He played Ken. HDR is what brought me back to the fighting game scene. My whole life i've casually played fighting games but always wanted to kind of get serious. SF4, I was so hype when it came out. When I first saw Daigo do a DP fadc Ultra... I was like omfggggg I want to play this game... how naive I was. Also, I've been wating I-No matches in the Guilty Pleasures forum. She looks like a lot of fun.   18. At full screen to a little bit farther than mid screen, I find the most effective thing to do is just neutral jump to see what Hazama's reaction will be. If I see any inkling of a snake, I'll j2.A It works out pretty well for me.

  20. Yeah it's probably his most cost effective combo in CS now. I was just responding to MAC on if it'd be worth it. The answer is yes: Any time you can do that combo, you should... Well, in 90% of situations I'd say.

Because of the new J.C being able to combo at the end of it (which can put them in the corner easily from mid screen because of the huge knockback on it) and the fact that Hakumen's auto-meter gain was nerfed and gains more meter by dealing damage now, it becomes worth it to do: 214.b (1) -> 623AA -> J.2c -> 2.C -> SJ.2A ->Air Dash -> J.2A -> J.C It winds up only being about 2.5, maybe 3 stars of meter, and now they are in the corner. If they aren't they should be pretty darn close, or you just got yourself out of it.
  22. Why wouldn't it be. If you're going to hit confirm a 2A into it, why wouldn't you do it off a sweep?
  23. Renka does lead into air combo if you cancel after the first hit into enma, I'm pretty sure. It may have been counter hit, but i'm 100% certain I've done it before.
  24. If they're close you can just go straight into 214b launcher combo.
