  1. This thread is for discussing the Rachel vs Ragna match-up in BB:CS. Go!
  2. Gasp! Zong, how could you! That's cold man. Cold... Seriously though, good luck to everyone from the west coast. It's time to represent. And bad luck to everyone else. I mean, nothing personal, of course. You're just horrible human beings, is all.
  3. No no, stick with Rachel and Rachel. I've seen both render and Dacidbro lose to her. It's who I would pick if I wanted to beat them. And I hear they have very little matchup experience with her. Zong doesn't either.
  4. But, but, but... console version! :P Besides, you and I play enough anyway. But everyone else, YOU should go. Especially if you play Bang, Litchi, or Ragna. Help SoCal represent! And I'm sure I'll be done with story mode and sick of online by next week anyway.
  5. Aw, that sucks. Well, on the bright side, it's less people to root for. And Jan still does Tager, right? Also, which people showing up are the Rachel pros?
  6. Haha. I've seen this combo irl, man. Practice, practice!
  7. I was thinking that too. Whiter than Dacidbro? And then I realized. He's probably an albino.
  8. Wait wait wait, back up a second. People live in Wisconsin? But I kid. Good luck with your scene.
  9. Well, I'm definitely not going today. I just bought a little something during my lunch break. <------------- And more avatar space? Damn, that's the greatest benefit of all.
  10. Heh, yeah, not 7D. Just 7. 7D will blow you across the screen. When you hit them with the BBL, press 2, 8, D. As you're getting high up, press 7. You'll cancel into your double jump, and move slightly backwards. Then quickly press 2C or 2CD, which will shift her momentum into going straight down.
  11. Yeah, Zong would've been red Carl and red Arakune. I'm pretty sure you saw him there.
  12. Whaaaaaat? Man, how come I never find people that determined? I only got 20 last night before everyone quit. ...Do I smell? And more importantly, how do you even sit for that long? So hey, final count, did you get over 66?
  13. Alright, I'll go easy on him. I guess I'll try using Rachel, or something.
  14. Yeah, you sometimes need to delay the 236B. It just depends on the character and how high they're bouncing at the time. If the Lobelia passes under them, then you should've delayed it. Basically you're aiming so that they fall onto the top of it. I'm not exactly sure how you can jump forward more. Once you jump with 9, that's pretty much it. You're not getting more forward than that. And since you basically have one exact moment to press the 2C in the air, you can't really delay it. If you're too far away to hit with the j.2C, then you need to start the combo closer. And... I can't check right now, but I don't think the damage on that combo would be that good. The Tempest Dahlia does really horrible damage and proration. You'd probably get around 3.5k to 4k from it.
  15. Just got back from FFA. And I have to say, that BBCS setup is niiiiiiiiiice. Maybe even a few more I's in there. It's THAT good.
  16. I was going to go too, to check out this alleged CS setup. But I also have exactly one dollar on me, so I probably won't be there long.
  17. That combo actually IS harder to do on Tager, as backwards as that sounds. He's the only character you'll need to super jump for if you start with 6A, 5B. (Any other character you can just regular jump.) And connecting with a 5B or likewise ground move after the j.2C just depends on how fast the opponent can tech. After the opponent gets hit, they have X frames before they're able to tech. So, if you hit them high in the air, they'll fall for longer before bouncing, and then will be able to tech out higher up. Also, when any combo does a greater number of hits, the opponent's untechable time is reduced. This is universal to the game system. So, ideally, to connect that 5B the combo should have as few hits as possible, and your opponent should get hit by the j.2C low to the ground. But really, screw that. Just 236B at the end, or super jump BCBC. Lies. It's 50% REPEATED proration. Meaning after the first time. i.e. when it's done during her wall bounce combos. Just done once, the move has normal proration. And in fact, if you can start with a 5C, it does an awesome 100% initial proration. And this is brilliant! See, every now and then I'll feel like throwing out a super just for the hell of it. Like maybe I'm sitting on 100% meter and time is running out. "Let's just see if this works," I think to myself. Only, I've been doing run up 6A to BBL. This, however, is infinitely better. Similar damage, it'll combo much better on a blocking opponent, it could take off a primer or two, and you can still start some pressure after it. This is now my de facto "hit confirmation is for suckers!" combo. That's right, you heard it here first, folks! A combo where TD is better than BBL!
  18. And also entering Guilty Gear, I heard.
  19. Okay, fine. I'll make sure you're well-prepared for any Rachels you meet. Once you can do that, no one in Japan can stop you!
  20. I think Kula's character is fine. Horribly underage, but that doesn't seem to be stopping K'. And maybe Zong would like her more when she's not in battle mode. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y224/paraplegicomental/kula.jpg (And it is surprisingly hard to find pictures of her with her normal hair!) And the ice skates are totally the best part. Of any game, ever. Hater. Also, all of you, check out Mai's normal stance on the character page for KoF13 there. I know these jokes have been going around forever, but apparently they finally decided to officially give her back problems.
  21. Pfft, that's hardly fanboy-ing. Want to see real fanboy-ing? I'd be all over this game like render's signature if it had Vanessa in it. Less than 3.
  22. Team Gender Bender? And I was actually playing KoF13 tonight, and I have to say, it seems like it's put together much better than 12 was. I mean, it's not exactly hard to be better than 12, but I'm just saying, I'm seeing potential here. I even went through arcade mode and got up to some (final?) boss. Who promptly move-read and countered me to death. KoF tradition! And Zong, you left too soon. I was trying out the characters' new SDM moves, or whatever this game is calling them. They are pretty damn awesome looking. And Leona's is seeeeeexy. Also... so how about them ranbats, huh?
  23. Well, regarding most fighting games, some types of moves certainly will take priority over others if a similar input is performed. For instance, let's say you're Ryu, and the opponent whiffs something in front of you. You're a little too far away to punish, so you want to walk forward a short step, and then do a crouching forward kick into a fireball. DON'T. You will cancel into an uppercut instead, and open yourself up to punishment. 6236 Punch will always be an uppercut, even though that's clearly a fireball motion, properly done, right there. As far as overlapping inputs, the general rule is that qcf < dp < double qcf. And by the same logic though, EX fireball instead of Ultra really is a user error. But regardless of the SF community's arguments on the issue (and I think both have very valid points), I've also never seen any GG or BB tournament have a problem with binding multiple keys to something. Mostly because it's just for the sake of making RCs possible on a pad. And if you are able to enter a tournament and not get worked over, I don't think any non-whining-loser doubts your capability to slam your hand down on three buttons. Hell, if you have it on the left shoulder it's actually harder to do on pad than on a stick anyway. Anyway, and to the OP's desire to start joining tourneys, you might want to just start learning stick. I know, I know, no one ever wants to hear that. But it will make it easier to do this stuff that you need to hot-key, and at some tournaments, especially ones with arcade setups, you won't have any option to use a pad in the first place.
  24. Heh. Let's see... I saw Sol, Robo-Ky, Chipp... and then at the end was Slayer, Eddie, and then I had to go. Lot of variety there. And somewhere there's a joke about going upward through the tiers, but I don't think it was intentional. I HAVE seen people do that genuinely, though. Really funny. Out of curiosity, are you a pad-using Bridget player? I may have seen you at one of the "Burnt Toast" tournaments. I don't think we've ever played, though. I was the Axl player, if you saw me. However, never fear, we can solve this problem easily. Come to AI tonight!
  25. He actually played a lot of different characters that night. I'm not sure who he mains. But yeah, that was my first time ever seeing a good Chipp.
