He did indeed! That's when I started doing it. (Protip: It still works on Zong. kitty.) But I guess no one but us knew until this thread. Whoops.

Wedding? Really? Well congrats!

It's right near the beginning of Round 3. After the CH 2C he picks him up with 6C, instead of the usual 5B. It does about 300 more, so that's not shabby. But if you thought the regular level 2 j.2C combo was hard, just try that one, heh. Also, his follow up after that j.2C was a questionable choice...

...What are any of you talking about? Zong had it right, Severin was close. Make it LOOK like you're going to throw, but do something like a 2A or 5A instead. They will hit B+C trying to throw break. Throw them for real immediately after, and they will get a Throw Reject Miss, because of their first attempt, and be unable to break it. And that's your pro strat right there.

Yeah, I've seen that site before too, but sadly none of those exist anymore. (Granted, I didn't stop by Sunnyvale...) But it is copying the entire save, right, and not just trading parts? Because I've also finished the game with every character, and I'd hate to lose my wacky little comedy skits. Though if you do want a favor, I'll let you play Shiren the Wanderer for the DS. Best game no one here has heard of. Let's say... tomorrow. (Mental Note: BRING GAME.) Also, the Nickel Nickel in Cypress actually DOES have an AX machine. Only it's been "out of order" for like... probably coming up on one year now, since I first saw it there. According to some guy working there, the actual game disc is broken. But don't worry, replacement parts are on the way! I have no idea what he was talking about, but I am in awe that it's taking a year for these parts to ship. But yeah, since you're all some kind of gaming fans, I figure someone might see one. You all like to wander into random arcades and see what's there, right? Who knows what might be hidden in a random pizza joint, or your local mall or movie theater. Keep me in mind if anyone spots one!

I don't get it, why do people think Isuka is retarded? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vIZyBjE08rM And my vote would go to #1. EX characters could be okay, but it probably won't change much from how we play normally. And Unlimited BB characters might end up hilarious (for stupid reasons), but would ultimately just come down to who will play cheapest. Personally, I would do a never-ending wall of fireballs, and then I'd rape your guard primers whenever I get 50%. And if you want Gold GG characters, I'm going to be honest, I'll be picking Faust. You will never get a chance to move, and then you will die. ggs!

4.5:5.5 Just because he has some good Rachel specific combos (That exactly two people know how to do. Everyone else will Gadget Finger, and I will secretly laugh.) And to whoever mentioned it, her zoning Tager really doesn't work. But it doesn't matter. Still a relatively easy fight. And I agree with this completely. And it's important to remember that his void hardly does shit. In fact, I tend to get a good amount of random damage on people who are trying too hard to chop a Lobelia. And once they do, they get... a floating ball of useless 3/4 of the screen away from me. I can deal with that. Oh, you want to air dash in now? Gee, if only there was some way to hit him as he leaves the safe zone...

Hey, I might have been to that arcade in Little Tokyo. Second floor of some little mall thing? And speaking of arcades, if any of you know of a working F-Zero AX machine, feel free to tell me. I've been wanting to find one for a while now. In fact, I'll even give out a reward! How about, um... well money's not usually a great incentive... oh! I'll give you Wicked's phone number. Or Zong's, if you swing that way. Help me out, people!

Probably because nobody there plays a good Rachel. I'd say the V. Noel one is dead-on, though. But V. Hakumen should indeed be a point or half easier, and the V. Tager match-up is definitely waaaaaay easier than that.

Socal: Arcade Infinity! Let's Match it UP
Jason D. replied to choysauce's topic in Offline Community
Haha. Funny how this came one minute after my post, and I didn't see it until right now. Oh well. I was at a much better place this weekend anyway. But next time people gather, I'll try to come. I've been missing the old arcade fun. And hey, maybe it's been long enough since I've been seen that I can once again surprise the hell out of some random person by beating them badly in BB. That's my favorite part! I can't help but notice that you said "watching". You do play GG, right? -
Socal: Arcade Infinity! Let's Match it UP

Oh, I was thinking of it regarding cross-ups. When you land on your opponent so perfectly that not even you know what side you're going to be on. And with a follow-up that makes it so that only they have to choose correctly, and you don't. Suckers. -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rOB_i7FELhQ Vs. Tager. Using the "be annoying" tactic, apparently. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHpDqmp-3fY Vs. Hakumen. Not much to see here.

Oh hey, so what games does Round 1 have, exactly? And more to the point, which ones might people here be interested in? -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zgcv3t1716I Vs. Taokaka. Good pick-ups on the j.C counters.

I have finally completed my time machine! And I am bringing back knowledge from the future. Here is some footage from our next tournament: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UJ2GTFoABU&feature=channel

Er... health better carry over between rounds. Otherwise this is just a one-man team tournament. And it would be pretty pointless to use lesser characters that you're not good with if they can't at least whittle down the opponent character's health.
-
A.B.A. No one plays A.B.A.
-
I just realized, Mike knocked me out of all three tournaments. Witty retort and future challenge! And Nathan, you forgot to list everyone's mains for Tetris Attack. I play Gargantua Blargg. And Saif, if you read this, I'm glad you found some time to stop by!

Sweet, I made it to the finals!

Someone first said that it slides, and then someone else translated the same thing to say that Rachel herself slides forward automatically, i.e. the usual 5CDC thing without having to pay the wind. Personally, I have no idea what's true. And I'm really not going to care anyway until things are final.

2A is one frame faster though, so it can't hurt sometimes. Also, even if that won't combo on a character, it's usually one hell of a frame trap. People love mashing after that Lobelia. Free reset, you say? 5B starter? Yes please! Wow, who is this handsome Rachel player? I wish I could be like him one day... Heh. And I used 100 heat because I had it. Go Training Mode! Want to hear a funny story? I actually recorded a bunch of stuff for that, and Rin picked three he liked. One that I tried to do a few times on tape was the corner throw, multiple level 3 j.2C combo. But the stick I was using at the time didn't seem to like me much, and eventually I got tired and moved to something else. So, I finished, watched a couple more people record stuff, and then I went to play Spirit Juice for a few matches. Where, in the middle of the match, I threw him in the corner and did the combo. So that's right, pulling stuff off in real matches is easy, but you've gotta be pro to do it in training.
-
On that note, is her j.2C even a fast overhead anymore? I can't say I've been doing 5B, jump cancel, j.3CD a lot in CS, but long ago when I was checking this I recall that it wouldn't actually combo, like it did in CT. So if they did slow it down, then yeah, seems like a fair overhead to me. I mean, the jump is still a dead giveaway that a high is coming.

Regarding Hakumen's j.D not being combo-able anymore, I think they just wanted to give you a reason to use his other counters. Now, I'm not too wise on Hakumen's damage per combo, but I do know that a lot of people will do a just-off-the-ground j.D counter in EVERY opportunity when they want to counter. Why not? I mean, it'll go over lows, it's immune to throws, and it'll still counter anything that touches it. Beats almost anything. It's clearly superior. So why ever risk using a normal ground counter instead? Granted, maybe ground counters in CS1 can lead to more damage, I don't know. But point is, now, if you want to do the incredibly more safe j.D counter, you still can, but you're not going to get any damage. And if you want to take a risk with a ground counter, and actually read your opponent correctly, THEN you can get damage for it. And for the record, I'm feeling the same way about Noel's 5D having less invincibility, assuming that's true. Right now a lot of people are just mashing it at every opportunity, just hoping that maybe it'll pass through something. Should that really be a good strategy for her? Randomly throw it out, and pray it works? Because it has a good chance of beating anything, even if she has no idea what their next move will actually be. So how about, instead, she actually has to read her opponent's next move correctly, and do the 5D with good timing.
