  1. Well I haven't fought a lot of Tsubakis either, but it isn't hard for her to build up charges during the match, and her pressure can be pretty bad for Rachel, mostly because of her charge canceling and 5B. She's like a mini Ragna when she's in your face. She can also IB and DP along with the best of them. Her unblockable gimmicks are a real pain too, if spaced properly, since Rachel has no invincible moves. Rachel's "DP" is a guard point, which the unblockable will just chew right through.
  2. Heh. Sure, my best advice: it's a pain and screw it. I usually just go with j.C, 2D, jump cancel, j.C, land, BBL. But yeah, whenever you want to do the j.2C combo, just make sure you hit with the first j.C when Rachel is higher than her opponent. The higher the better. Super jump if you can. (this part is kind of character-dependent.) Almost always the problem is that the opponent is too high for you when you need to hit the j.2C. So if you press it at the right time, you whiff under them, and if you press it once the opponent does fall in range, it black beats. Try to have your opponent under you or at least even with you when you hit them with the j.C, and then they should be in the right position for the j.2C later. And of course, the amount of pause before the j.2C is just practice. That part's pretty easy to figure out, though.

  3. You think too negatively. You should be happy that your money went to a good place. Possibly to the pockets of one of the SF4 players. But most likely the pockets of the organizers. And some poor kid is now able to save his father's farm from debt collectors, all thanks to the horribly large entrance fee. It's what Jesus would do.
  4. Are you still bitter about that? They paid you your $3 prize winnings, didn't they? What more do you want?
  5. http://www.flickr.com/photos/judytuna/4914970965/in/set-72157624783557384/ This one and the next one are awesome. Out of nowhere, wham! Superman pops in!
  6. I've been saying this for a while. Tager is actually a good match-up for Rachel. I wouldn't say positive for her, but definitely closer than most other match-ups. And sure Tager can out-damage Rachel, but hey, what's new for her? Don't get grabbed. The important thing is, she has the tools to counter his stuff, and she can actually lock him down really well.
  7. NOT HARD ENOUGH (that's what she said)
  8. Well, Spark IS a magician, but that's besides the point. I don't know, maybe he ticked into the Astral and you didn't have time to get anything out at all? If that happens... oh well. And right, don't use 5A if you're out of range of course. Go with 2A, or 5B, or whatever would work best. My point was just that if you do see him start the Astral, don't panic and block, and especially don't try to jump away (it's not a throw). Hitting him is your only chance for survival, and the faster the move the better. Unless you're not magnetized and he's far away, but that would be a silly time to do the Astral. Looking at Tager's frame data, he's only invincible until 4f after the super flash, so yeah, any move you do after the flash is guaranteed to not pass through him. The startup says 5+16, so I assume that means if he DOESN'T hold down the Astral it takes 16 frames after the flash for it to hit. Which is plenty of time to knock him out of it with most of her normals. And it says if he does hold it in, then it'll come out 12f after he releases the button. Slightly faster, but still not great, which is why purposely charging back into him with something like 6CD is very hard for him to react to in time.
  9. No, it clashes with the attack hitbox (red one). I'm pretty sure that's the only way clashes even occur. Besides, you see attacks hitting the guard point all the time. That definitely doesn't cause a clash.
  10. Alright, serious business time. Why doesn't Rachel's 2C cancel into anything on clash? I've tried canceling it with another cat chair before and noticed that doesn't work, and right now I remembered it and started testing it out in depth. Yeah, you can't cancel it with ANYTHING on clash. No normals, no A Lobelias, no supers, no barrier block, no jump cancel (nothing does those last two anyway.) All you can do is rapid, which you could've done without the clash anyway. So basically, if the cat chair clashes (and boy does it like to!), you're stuck with the recovery. You're screwed. So I'm wondering, why does this happen? Are there some extra rules behind clashes that I'm unaware of? I thought all moves, on clash, could be immediately canceled into any other attack. And it's not the nature of the move, since god knows I've seen Ragnas mash out back-to-back Inferno Dividers on clash. Hell, Rachel's 2C isn't even a special. It's a normal. What's with this?
  11. Or just start with a j.2C.
  12. Zong likes her so much she's even in his avatar. (Note: this joke will not relevant in the near future. Check fast!) Also, when searching for the name in Google, Google was like "Did you mean Mecha-Hitler?"
  13. Sextuple Fatal combo!
  14. Hey Geno, those first two totally could've been double Fatal combos. I thought they were going to be. And in related news, where are the multiple Fatal combos! The citizens demand it.
  15. Sweet, I'm finally a character in a game. And I'm happy to hear that this Axl guy plays me so well.
  16. Do we have to decide now or in the near future? It'll probably be a lot easier for the community to just pick two people after everyone shows up on Wednesday. Especially for the sake of people who might have to cancel, or can't make it, or end up being late. And everyone pretty much knows who the best players are anyway, so it won't need any long debate or need any sort of playoff. "Live BlazBlue Stream. Featuring: Surprise Mystery Players!"
  17. Oh, I don't know, I think I won the prize for sloppiest match of the night. You'll know it if you see it. And yeah, it was good seeing you again too Kro. It's been a while. And everyone else... well, it's been less of a while, so you're not special. Shout outs to Hype Dog.
  18. When pressuring you, Tao likes to use 5D~B sooner or later. It's the straight dive, and then canceled so that she stops and lands quickly. It's possibly an ambiguous cross-up, but I actually don't think I've ever seen her NOT land behind you. This move is especially common after a 3C (especially when she's too far for the third hit) and after a 236AAAAAAAA (why should anyone ever do this?) Now, right after this dive cancel, Taos like to get REALLY mashy with 2A. I've been having great success cat chairing her at this moment. Obviously this can be baited, but if you're looking for a hole to get out of pressure, this is a pretty big one. It might also be possible to IB the dive and then 5A her, for a much safer solution. I've had it work before, but it's hard to tell if that was just my opponent messing up their timing or not. And in general, that 5D seems to have some inconsistent recovery going on.
  19. Hmm. You know, Circuitous brought up a good point about Ragna and Bloodedge a few pages back. A lot of people seem way too obsessed with how the first time loop worked, compared to all the subsequent time loops. But when it comes down to it, who says that the first 100-year timeloop period was ANYTHING like the current timeline? For instance, maybe the first time around, there were actually 9 Heroes, and the Black Beast was just a cute little Arakune running around. Some LARPers discovered how to cast real magic missiles, and the US Department of Homeland Security took over at the end like the NOL. Think about Noel's life. Noel died before she's "born" in very many of the initial time loops. But, as I recall reading, they said that with each resulting time loop, the chances of Noel's survival increased and increased. So the probability of her living kept increasing until it stabilized into the Noel we all know, who most definitely survives. So why wouldn't the rest of the world work this way? Despite what happened the first hundred times, the world kept looping and looping until it finally stabilized out into the NOL-owned, magic-based, furry-populated world that we all know. Just because this is how the world works NOW, and how the legend of the Six Heroes works now, doesn't mean it was happening like that 700 timeloops ago. And on a related note, why even worry about what happened initially. What you've seen in-game is indeed how the world is working currently, and old man Jubei's stories are indeed exactly what happened in the past (of the current Jubei). Anything else was erased (except maybe Hakumen and Terumi). So what does it matter how the previous loops went?
  20. Observing's cool, but you should play too at some point. And if you want to try out any combos or figure out moves, just ask whoever you're playing. I'm sure they'll be willing to help out.
  21. No, it's just you. If the game says you could've teched, it's not lying. Just mash harder. Also, use more than one button to tech.
  22. Haha. That's the great thing about kids. They say what we're all thinking. Kitty
  23. Yeah, I agree. What a scrub. Seriously though, I say give it two or three years, and he'll be better than any of us. It'll be kind of like skateboarding. The pros just keep getting younger and younger...
