Not too sure about j6d and j2d, but can't jd be held for quite some time? If spaced right, held jd would be able to beat dp's on the fact that it can be delayed, preventing the clash. Yes she could guess wrong, but the risk/reward would be heavily in her favor, no?

maybe it's because I generally do not play characters with a materless dp, but when I have to block her I don't think her options individually are too strong, just that she has so many of them and they hurt. It's more like she forces a person to be on point, and if you can't infernally divide her pressure, you have to sit there and let her continue to gather information until someone eventually screws up -that person is increasingly likely to be her opponent. The longer this goes on the higher the chance of her foe eating all that damage. She is sort of commiting with her face though, sort of like terumi, so it's easier to disrespect if you know what to look for, which you probably do crossfire.

Remember when this thread devolved into Tsubaki discussion every two hours? Well that's what it feels like right now.

The worst thing about 2D/6D mix-up is that they can simply jump out of it, and Bullet won't follow them. At least the animation is ambiguous enough to make it hard to react to when they decide to stay on the ground.

j.D oki is legit, you just have to be smart with it. Sometimes losing a heat level is worth it, not to mention that you can just cancel it, land and punish that DP in whatever way you want.

Anyways, most of her mix-up comes from stagger pressure, so of course she's weak to DPs... Unless the Bullet player is smart enough to bait them. Just as usual, you see how your opponent reacts to your actions and adapt your game to it.

Gimmicks are good against only two types of opponents:  Idiots and those that are scared of what you can do.

You'd be amazed how many people get caught off guard when you stop doing ABC and stagger normals and test their knowledge of frame data leaving traps for them to attempt to DP.

Want a fun time?  Test out moves with guard point like Kagura 5DA and guard point fatal counter moves like Litchi DP and Hazama's Jakyion Hotenji in strings where a person would attempt to do a reversal.

Make them scared to press buttons and you will find limit what you have to look out for in your gameplan.

BE TSB Dora Bang posted a new Tier List on his Twitter yesterday, with Strongest to Weakest going from Top to Bottom.  Not sure if Left to Right is the usual "Has Faults/Well-Rounded" yet.  He forgot Lambda-11, but told me that "She is strong like Mu," but he's got her in his Bottom Tier with Terumi, and while he could've meant Nu, I have a hard time seeing her in Top with how little she's played in Japan.  http://www.mmcafe.com/tiermaker/bbcp/index_customize.html?tc=ya0-trjk60l82jht61ou61e950e939g03ag36sci50n361g151lc61my2khr49hr2ie96qji2jap6r9150n24bci39ht7rjj4ajm7rlb4aar51ci6r-bkf-naBE/TASB/Dora-tiTier%20Chart%20for%20BBCP-ct999999-c1FFFFFF-c2EEEEEE-tvFF7101-thDD3C3C-d1Top%20Tier-x110-d2Low%20tier-x210-d3-x310-d4-x47

Mu next to Terumi?  Bullet higher than Ragna and Carl?  I don't know about this one....

I haven't seen enough good Carls to comment, but I really have a hard time believing Bullet is better than Ragna. Not to say I couldn't believe it, but I would need to see his reasoning on it. Did he do any kind of writeup?

Posted

Don't think he did Corbenik, he just posted the chart.  Carl being so low really surprises me, considering all the Japanese, himself included, had his as the #1 in 1.1, even above Kokonoe, and I think he got buffed, didn't he?  At least form the handful of changes I've seen on the Wiki that they released.

He also told me that left and right don't mean anything, so I suppose you'd just read it by the columns, which would make the letters something like:

S: Valkenhayn, Relius, Jin, Hazama, Nu-13, Tager, Litchi

A: Makoto, Izayoi, Kagura, Azrael, Bullet, Kokonoe, Bang, Taokaka, Hakumen

B: Noel, Ragna, Tsubaki, Carl, Rachel

C: Amane, Celica, Platinum, Arakune

D: Lambda-11, Mu-12, Terumi

I'd love to see a write-up myself, since I didn't Mu was THAT bad, (unless she's dropped off in Japan?) Carl was that low, and Hakumen and Bullet were that high.  But I think his opinions tend to be a little different from what's the accepted meta anyway.

Posted (edited)

She's not exactly bad, period.  She might not be A tier, but she is at least a solid B.

Mu is imo definitely on the mid spectrum of the mid tiers. (probably between Rachel and Hakumen)

Since this is a tier list made from a Bang player, Mu can be considered very easy for Bang.

In the previous versions Mu was able to keep Bang better away and her decent damage at mid range used to be a threat for Bang. Her damage from random hit confirms (and probably overall damage) is much worse (with the 6c and j.2c changes) in this version and her nerfed stein lasers are a joke for Bang, who is able to get in much easier

The matchup imo in cp and cp1.1 were fairly even, although probably  in slight favor Bang. Then in CPE Bang has become overall better and Mu overall worse

I would say Celica is probably mid-tier actually. She's a little bit better than most people seem to think.

Read this, it explains her better than I can.

I think the main reason Celica is so low is because she's outperformed in her Niche by Ranga, Makoto, and Jin.

I'm going to flip the question everyone is asking around and say "Why WOULDN'T Bullet be better than Ragna?"  What does he have that she doesn't?

Posted

A micro Dash for starters.

I also see Ragna being better at corner carry off of hits than Bullet.

Also Inferno Dividah hitbox.

Bullet doesn't have a hop dash though, she has a step dash, so she should be able to micro dash by cancelling it just like Hazama does?

He doesn't need his drive to do good damage, better mobility, gorilla normals, better mixup, a useful reversal, blah, blah, blah.....

Well I'm in no position to compare most of those characters traits but even with mine tiny knowledge about this game I can tell you one thing (told to me earlier by wikia. She has 11.000 HP he has 10.000.

While that is true, with Ragna's drive one can expect to get a lil' more than 1K HP back, unless the Ragna gets steam-rolled or perfects his foe.

I play with my "vs 11K HP resource management set" against Ragna, because treating him like Nu and other 10K HP people doesn't kill him usually. I don't want to look up and see that he has a bit of extra HP after a Tedo or somethin'.
