GenoWhirl Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 ;-; Fine, lets just go for the reset thingy
Rhannmah Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 http://wonli.web.fc2.com/ Go to the movie link in the left hand corner. 2nd, 4th videos of 12.27.09 has a good Rachel player. (Not winning by timeouts if anyone asks.) those vids are nice. The Rachel player's opponents might have been a little weak, but still, I think this is getting close to being a textbook example on how to play CS Rachel, especially on how to cover your ass with the pumpkin
God_Of_Olympus Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 those vids are nice. The Rachel player's opponents might have been a little weak, but still, I think this is getting close to being a textbook example on how to play CS Rachel, especially on how to cover your ass with the pumpkin i agree, also since pumpkin can still be winded before your full recovery (at least i hope) does anyone know if that'll knock off enough reovery fames to make pumpkin>xD>go into pressure worthwile? also has anyone tried j.2C cancel by whiffing air iris also for anyone with CS in their are i figured you shuld take a list w/ stuff to experiment .__. or do the cool kids not do that?... --double lobelias in combo where you would normaly throw one ie BBL 236A 236A 3C 214C 214A --since people are gonna learn to deal with j.2c>A lobelia what other ways can we cancel it --if you catch someone blocking in mid air with j.A/j.B spam secretly press xD (depends where George is contrary to your opponent) if you have george out to see if he'll catch them when they land --If you wind pumpkin as late as possible w/ ut making yourself vuneravle while recoveing from an attack can you still frame trap? --matchup specifics Arakune--can we still zone him to the point where it's hard for him to curse us, if he does curse us are we doomed? Carl-- A air lobelia should go over Nirvana if we wait for him to come to us he cant do much with just nirvana, unless you let nirvana corner you maybe we can try things such as iAD plus wind when he's not holding D Hazma-- ??? Hakumen-- ways to get around j.c and 4c Tsubaki--can we zone her out well enough to where she cant pressure us Bang--?? Litchi--?? Noel-- are her new drive moves to be feared? can she stop our zoning with optic barrel? Taokaka-- Q_Q Lambda-- is the generl Nu strat still in play here Tager-- Can we wind ourselves away after rcket finger, can we keep him out? Ragna--?? Jin--?? ANYONE feel free to add to the list, CS just came o NorCal so i'll be heading there next week
Soniti Posted December 27, 2009 Author Posted December 27, 2009 You can't "whiff cancel" j.2c with air iris cause it's no longer special-cancellable. Speaking of j.2c, I've noticed it is losing to a lot of moves air-to-air and air-to-ground that it didn't used to lose to in CT. I'm pretty sure they nerfed it's hitboxes.

Tari Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 the hitbox was pretty absurd, but enough was already done on that mve, the changes are kindof ridiculous, also, is there officially no use for 6B and that move should 100% be avoided? If you're sure 6b will hit, you can do 6bd to combo off of it or cancel it into 236a or something. It's alright for poking at someone at long range, too, I suppose, but otherwise, it's pretty useless. And what has j.2c been losing to that it beat before? Haven't been using it enough in CS to notice, I suppose. Where're you heading to play the game, Olympus?
God_Of_Olympus Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Where're you heading to play the game, Olympus? SunnyVale Golf Land
Kuuhaku Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Play a Rachel mirror. Then you know what despair is. It's like watching two kids with nubs for arms trying to smack at each other, but they can't reach because they have nubs.

GenoWhirl Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Reminds me of that arakune mirror like lolololololol
God_Of_Olympus Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Reminds me of that arakune mirror like lolololololol more videos were posted on the website linked earlier i'll check em out 5th and 6th had nothing -_- anyone else feel free to try the rest wrong quote
Soniti Posted December 31, 2009 Author Posted December 31, 2009 Man so for any of Rachel's 5b JC -> j.b/land 2b stuff, the opponent can just instant block 5b and mash buttons and be rewarded with a much higher damage combo than either of those two moves could have given you. You'd have to get the opponent very scared of 5c/236a/3c before using it.
K2 Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 CS rachel midscreen 5b>5dcd>frog>3c/2b/5b>236a my frog aren't shocking my oppoenet most the the times when i do 3c/2b/5b, is the shocking activation diff. from CT? i am trying to do 5b>5dcd>frog>3c>236a>3c>214c>3c>214b set up but frog aren't shocking! i know that noel tager jin ragna won't work, and ^13 and carl requires 2b>5b pick up so frog won't shock due to the hieght. maybe is my own execution problem?
Rabbit360 Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 rog changes (MAJOR NERF) Now has it's own life meter Shorter activation range No longer activates while the opponent is down The frog no longer jumps -- it now crawls at a snails pace (but it is now affected by wind and slides like crazy if you use it) Cannot summon another frog while one is active. when the frog disappears, a timer with 2 seconds appears. until that timer runs out, you cannot summon another frog. If the above is still true, that could be why the frog doesn't activate.
GenoWhirl Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Happy New Year since I won't be here at 12 AM, Rachel players~
K2 Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 If the above is still true, that could be why the frog doesn't activate. aaah, icic, no wonder so far it only works on bang and hakuman, and the rest, the frog just sit there thats so sad
Soniti Posted December 31, 2009 Author Posted December 31, 2009 If the above is still true, that could be why the frog doesn't activate. read the date on that thing -- No. If someone else volunteers to compile the final version changes for Rachel I'd be plenty willing to put it in my first post.
K2 Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 for must of the times, even in corner 5cdc>frog>2b>5b the frog just hit there, so maybe we should check the video from jpn and see if that happened to them also
Tari Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 5cdc 214a 2b 5b (frog hits) still works midscreen and in the corner. 5cdc 214a 3c (frog hits) still works midscreen and in the corner, as well, but timing almost feels a little different. I'm willing to chalk that up to just not playing for a week, though. 3c(1 hit)236a works, though.
Soniti Posted January 1, 2010 Author Posted January 1, 2010 3c(1 hit)236a works, though. And is easier thanks to no more 22a input screwing stuff up.
Tari Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 And is easier thanks to no more 22a input screwing stuff up. No kidding. No more wild 3c698741236a inputs for me. I actually need to sit down and just drill some of the new stuff into my head at somepoint. Haven't really done that.
Alex073088 Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 YOU GUYS I THINK I THOUGHT OF A WAY TO MIX-UP ALWAYS WITH ATLEAST TWO STOCKS OF WIND. ok after u, wind george over, make sure u wind a lobelia also with it to land behind the opponents like do frog+lobelia a +9wind for full screen, george has them blocking, u go in 5b>j.2c>land sword iris >combo or of course 5b>3c+9wind>5b>combo After u get that off for a while u can go to fuzzy guard, 5b> wind down2d>2b>5b>bnb....and 5b>2d>j.a or j.b>land>5a>5b>bnb we can still mix-up my fellow rachels its just much harder sadly...but we will get more respect for are harder mix-ups.
Soniti Posted January 1, 2010 Author Posted January 1, 2010 After u get that off for a while u can go to fuzzy guard, 5b> wind down2d>2b>5b>bnb....and 5b>2d>j.a or j.b>land>5a>5b>bnb How is that fuzzy guard? It's a 'high/fake high and go low' mixup, and one they can poke out of at that.
chun_li1 Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 How is that fuzzy guard? It's a 'high/fake high and go low' mixup, and one they can poke out of at that. Is jA still crouch blockable or did they remove that (there goes ASW GG equality for all if its still in) from loc tests?
Tari Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 j.a isn't a high, either. 5b > j.2c > sword iris isn't a fast overhead, exactly, and they'll probably start off blocking low against the 5b > 3c9d > 5b approach, though 3c9d seems to hit a lot for some reason.
