fogelstrom Posted July 10, 2010 Posted July 10, 2010 Might aswell post the search for the character hakumen on Nicovideo seeing people got accounts for it. Just recently a video of a player named Karahada_D was posted. He's pretty good. Seeing how videos are still short it's alot better then nothing. http://www.nicovideo.jp/search/%E3%83%8F%E3%82%AF%E3%83%A1%E3%83%B3?sort=f for the search. http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm11327986 for the video featuring Karahada_D playing on PSN.
Sophisticat Posted July 10, 2010 Posted July 10, 2010 Haku's Mission Challenges (#'s 6-10) were posted in the vid thread, re-posting here. They all look easy save for #10, which I tried last week when Kuru posted it. Not too hard, it just has some tricky bits in the hop Hot & Kisshu cross-up. Besides that, it's a repetitive motion. Shouldn't turn out too challenging, imo, but that's kind of disappointing. I wanted a few hard ones, at least.

I think challenge mode is there to show new/beginners/scrubs who dont go to dustloop practical match combos.

SimpleKiss Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 THIS It will also allow me to learn combos without downloading thousand youtube videos of 0/suzume/tenchi now, which is great. I dunno about that. I still download them because of their general excellent play and how inspiring it is.
A.X.I.S. Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 this guy loves max damage...if it haven't been posted. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmadH1m6rR4
huey253 Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 scrubby hakumen player that somehow made it to evo grand finals http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhO6Wdw-cPc
Leonil_Requiem Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 I can't help but assume that was a joke: Or assume you don't know hakumen has no anti-air: Or that you don't know that his block was immaculate. Spark you where doing great with the hotaru pressure in the match against hazama, keep up the hotaru spam. I hit alot of people out of their attempts to catch me on landing with haku's 66 hotaru cancel.
qwerty Posted July 13, 2010 Author Posted July 13, 2010 hakumen has no anti-air? are we playing the same game?
mAc Chaos Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 He has TK Hotaru, j.D and all his j.C's. Maybe even his 5A in a pinch. He just doesn't have a move specifically for anti-air anymore, but that doesn't stop him from controlling the air well still. Oh, and 2C and 5C. Although I was really feeling the lack of 6A while playing CS at EVO; it makes it so you have to space yourself properly to stop jump-ins, instead of being able to just anti-air them wherever you're standing with 6A. At least that's the impression I got from playing for a day.
A.X.I.S. Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 spark has a sick spacing game...BB is truely air footsies.
BladeOfJustice7 Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm11376365 Excellent gameplay against bang, I was really impressed especially with regards to burst baiting supers. Also evo finals, spark was dirty had to download his match, you can really learn a lot by just watching him play, I'll be using his gameplay for the basis of my hakumen cs adventures.
huey253 Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 all this haku-men player does is spam jab and counter, and he knows a couple combos. :P
Re4L14124c Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm11376365 Excellent gameplay against bang, I was really impressed especially with regards to burst baiting supers. yomi over 9000 there. Hate to play that guy online.
Sophisticat Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Sweet matches, Spark. Congrats on winning EVO for what it's worth. Upload moar vids, too. We can't rely on inconsistent (they don't always record) JP vids. If you could make regular uploads, and maybe show how to play certian matchups, that would be incredible, and I think the Haku community would really benefit from it. It might be a bit much to ask, but it would be greatly appreciated! http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm11376365 Excellent gameplay against bang, I was really impressed especially with regards to burst baiting supers. So stealing that Shippu burst bait -> Kisshu x2 -> Gurren -> Shippu Mugen combo. :3 Otherwise, great play. Bookmarking the vid for future reference.

Used Meathook Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Nice performance by Spark. Guess that's why he's the Hakumen board mod eh?
psycofang2 Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 you can you guys eh...critique my haku. im trying to learn rush down. so ill need some advice. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_Wncit5qr4&feature=PlayList&p=D712341A9B7A886B&index=3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VtbbcpbROAw&feature=PlayList&p=D712341A9B7A886B&index=5 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27QUiY05Elc&feature=PlayList&p=D712341A9B7A886B&index=8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R5-e9rpDpeY&feature=PlayList&p=D712341A9B7A886B&index=9 yeah im trying to learn to rush (which is quite unsafe i know) but i like rushing as haku. any insight would be greatly appreciated. thnx.
Sophisticat Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 I saw the grand finals earlier, so I can comment. First, nothing wrong with rushdown Haku. Second, no scolding because we're all still new to CS. :P That said, you just need better combos, get rid of CT habits, and get in the CS groove. Some stuff I noticed: - Off j.D you really want to do: 5c -> 5c -> f.C combo. Good damage for 2 stars. - You can cancel into 6a off 2a. - Gonna have to work on getting rid of reaction 6a. Only saw it once, but just in case. I know it's going to be really hard for me to do so. - Really got to capitalize off FC Hotaru. From what I'm seeing it's now your strongest starter, moreso than FC 6c full charge since there's a much higher chance of it landing. - IAD j.2C is less desirable now since you have better options. Mash moar j.C, mix up your ground game. That's all I got because I still don't have CS. You're looking real good, just need to practice and let CS' feel sink in.
psycofang2 Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 cool the hotaru>j.C thing was well because i either forgot the old JC command out of reaction or i felt i was too high in the air for a falling f.c loop im still trying to get into sj fc loop. but during that fight he started trying to range and be safe (which i had to take alot of time to adjust to) i still have that 2D problem... but thanks ill work on that. now about the jD>5C>5C im not understanding something because whenever i try it they always tech before the second 5c. care to explain? because im lost.
mAc Chaos Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNNUklhHXjk#t=2m20s That's what the combo looks like.
psycofang2 Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 ah ive been trying that but for some reason they tech before the second 5C...do i delay the second 5Cs input or input it as quickly as possible? EDIT: ok never mind i found where to hit them. it needs to be pretty early but eh i can adjust. thanks mac.
mAc Chaos Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 I can't get the timing of it right. I try to hit them as early as possible but it doesn't work.
Leonil_Requiem Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 I highly recommend hit confirming it. In addition, the height of your j.D edits the timing each attempt. like me, i have a marker in my head for their height. It's much more effective for me than countering or whatever.
