Warhound Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 I always loved doing 6C off of Gurren in CT. If they were close to dying they would often burst as a result, which would just screw them over more in the long run.
Sophisticat Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Valk seems to do everything better than Hakumen. ... Not that it's going to matter. He's getting the nerf bat hard for CS2, so he'll be more tame this time around. My only dismay is that we won't get to see what kind of crazy stuff the JP could pull with his current incarnation in a couple months' time.
Blade Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 make up yo mind. the void is not wishy washy. it is an existence of infinite standing ground and strength no matter how bad it gets. Exdeath would like to talk to you. But seriously...Valk's normals tend to be....ehhhhhh...you tend to know when he's gonna use j.C based on players I've played...I'm not sure what it is but Valk players don't use mixup with him like they should, at least when I played as Haku versus Valk, Valk ate a lot of obvious D traps. Maybe who I played sucked using Valk but...I think Haku has more "game" than he does, or at least it's less telegraphed what Haku is gonna do.
Tofu Warrior Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 So Hakumen is going to be a good character in CS2. Faster C moves that air unblockable? Enma combos are back, and his combos in general scale less? Untechable 3C is back? More damaging 6B overhead? Crazy Renka wall bounce? Only thing that sucks is slower meter gain and nerfed drives, but whatever.
psycofang2 Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 well they never really left they just said enma combos are much harder to do. enma lifts higher.
mAc Chaos Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 That might be to eliminate 5C > 623AA > f.j2C > 5C > 623AA type combos. Higher opponent + smaller 5C hitbox = whiff EDIT: Looks like they were completely disabled at one point if the last translation is correct.
Warhound Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 So what? S-tier Haku? Really hope not, it won't be that much fun to use him if he's way too easy to win with.
mAc Chaos Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Well, keep in mind that everyone's pressure is going to be better too, and it's easier to get guard crushed, and counters are less helpful, so I think Haku's defense actually takes a hit so far. Maybe his defense will be his weak point this time around.
Tofu Warrior Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 But if his zoning is better, and his damage output is better, then it balances itself out in the end. I'm calling it now, he'll probably be in the top 5 like he is CS1.
mAc Chaos Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Yeah, I don't think he'll be bad. If he was though I wouldn't mind. I don't know where you're getting the idea that his damage output would be better though especially since they've been trying to reduce everybody's damage. Less star gain too.
Sophisticat Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Weak defense? My Haku? -_- *switches mains* Enma combos are back, though. I read that change somewhere. Also, I think the new air unblockables doesn't change him much beyond preventing jump-ins, but the primer nerf is a buff. If you guard break with 6c, then do [6c] -> combo, that's a ton of damage right there. 6b still sucks, don't care about more damage unless it hits for like 1k.
mAc Chaos Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Yeah, I don't think the air unblockable change really affects US, that much. Our blockstrings already have three years of space between them, so people could still jump out quite easily, but that was always already packaged into how we play.
Tofu Warrior Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Yeah, I don't think he'll be bad. If he was though I wouldn't mind. I don't know where you're getting the idea that his damage output would be better though especially since they've been trying to reduce everybody's damage. Less star gain too. I could have sworn I read that in a loke test thread. I'm going to put myself on blast right now, but when it says moves "prorate less," is more or less damage scaling?
Tofu Warrior Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Awesome, thanks In the second location test, same move proration was added to 6C, but normal move proration was decreased, here's my post announcing the news. No one really seemed to care though haha. I'm still wondering why the fuck they'd give 6C same move proration, I guess in CS2 you can do more than one in a combo...
mAc Chaos Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Well, at the time it was overshadowed by the drives getting disemboweled. I wonder why they would lower his scaling... I guess they still want Haku to hit like a truck. Depending how big a change it is. As for 6C, maybe they didn't like the FC 6C, and then being followed up by another 6C.
Tofu Warrior Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Hakumen hits like a truck now. I guess they want him to hit like a truck that's being driven by another truck. Barrier Jumping is going to be suicide vs. Hakumen now. With faster C moves that are now air unblockable, I imagine strings like 2A, 5B or 6A, 5C will catch people trying to jump out. Edit: I was misinformed about the frame data concerning barrier guarding after jumps. Damn it. Apparently you can barrier on the first frame of your jump, which is stupid. I also think they want Hakumen to be able to deal good damage with fewer stars, as seen by the more damaging 6B, Renka wall bounce into combos, faster sweep which leads to 5B xx Gurren, cancelable 623A which can lead to tick throws and other shenanigans. Yeah, Hakumen is going to be so fun. I don't think the nerfed drives will be so bad, I think we won't need to rely on them as much in CS2. But this is all in theory of course.
Sophisticat Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 6c -> Guard Break -> [6c] preemptiveness? Otherwise, to reduce [6c] -> [6c] -> 6c damage, is likely. Not that it'd do much since getting hit by [6c] alone implies a 5k minimum combo, meterless. Less normal proration, on the other hand, is very interesting. CS combo length operates based on the amount of proration, so perhaps something other than 5/2a will hit after a 6C CH? @zdravkelja: This has been bugging me ever since I first saw it. How do you pronounce your username? "Drakelya"? "Dravkoyè"? "Hrafklyè"? I AM BURNING TO KNOW!!
zdravkelja Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 ot: lol That's my nickname in real life too. It's imposible to explain it like this, I will upload it on Youtube tomorrow. New Haku is great. But i would really sacrifice a few things for combo after 6D or j.D..
Tofu Warrior Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 He's right, it's pretty much impossible to describe how this sounds, the closest way I can think of writing it out phonetically would be zzd~ruv-kell-yuh.
Sophisticat Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Cool, I'll look forward to it. Btw, what language is that? Looks like some sort of Slavic dialect.
BladeOfJustice7 Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 Cool, I'll look forward to it. Btw, what language is that? Looks like some sort of Slavic dialect. Intellectual show off >_> It's still fucking dumb if you can;t combo off 6d, unless they added damage to it. Or less it's as useless as ragna's cs2 gauntlet hades (which hits mid now in case you didn't know). If slashes are faster it'll be easier to approach the opponent, and also easier to cut projectiles. In theory if they are all faster, then IB>slash is possible instead of 2a/b, 5b. That's my input, if 6d can't deal any damage and remains simply a girly push. I don't care what buffs added to haku, it's still stupid, 6d should deal damage not a girly push.
mAc Chaos Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 That GH thing was trolling, it's still an overhead.
Tofu Warrior Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 I think all of his drive counters got a damage buff, and I'm sure 6D does damage now seeing as you can't combo of it. It's also important to remember that the results of the loke tests aren't necessarily what will be shipping on December 9th; maybe he'll get his CS1 counters back? I'd be happy if all of his D moves did a static 2000 - 2500. Cool, I'll look forward to it. Btw, what language is that? Looks like some sort of Slavic dialect. Serbian.
