hey does hazama have a command throw? i saw in this video that the rachel player mysteriously got hit by something and im not sure what it was. im going to post the vid now

Edit: heres the video http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm10682868 and periods have been added =)

Yep, it doesn't do any damage though, it just staggers. It's alot like Makoto's command throw in street fighter. He has Red aura behind him when he does it so it's easy to spot.

Hmm its looks so sutile in the video. and that rachel player ate it so much and it combos.

^ It's good if it's unexpected since there's plenty of time to hit him out if it otherwise. It's more for heat gain than anything though since the proration goes to shit.

I like it on wake up against that 5A mashing prick that is Bang. It's invulnerable on frame 6 if they do their 5A late they eat the throw. Also, it's a 12 frame throw, that isn't that slow. If you've been conditioning people with Hazama's other BS, it's pretty easy to catch people with it.

I would like the command grab more if it didn't have garbage range, haha.

Here, Here. But at least you can cancel your dash with it like any other move.

I wake up 214D~B that bastard. :eng101:

Though the command grab might be safer now that I think about it...

Now if only those two were legit options against Litchi. :vbang:

You know what you do against Litchi on wakeup? Block, lol. Hooray for shoryuken moves! I wish ours at least had a ground hitbox, maybe some invincibility, even if it didn't combo into anything, lol.

Posted

^ What are you talking about? We've got a shoryuken THAT PIERCES THE HEAVENS.

Needs 50 heat though. :V

I block, and then I get confused as to what moves are a low or a high. :psyduck:

Lol, yeah, it's epic, but it lacks the defensive versatility of a normal shoryuken due to its limited availabilty... as versatile as it already is, lol.

Block and give her the Knee! I really like 5B for some reason, I get stupidly lucky with hitting people out of moves using it. Donno how it would work against Litchi, though, haha.

5B is good but not at range, which is like most of my problem with her. She's far enough to be safe from my normals but not far enough that I can use the chain safely. Very frustrating.

I couldn't ever recommend command grab or 214~B on wakeup... You've got 6 frames of counter-hit state on either before your invul comes out. Really not worth the risk, and guaranteed to fail if your opponent is timing his wakeup hits properly.

241D~B is the poor-man's shoryuken. Invul from frames 7-15, with the hitbox coming out on frame 11.

Is the command grab a legit tech trap? Because I often see people going for a blockstring in the corner rather than 236C after seeing a blatant neutral tech.

214d~b is NOT A REVERSAL. just to make that clear. It's really easy to get hit out of it and it's not healthy if you do. It's only good if you have enough space to start it up but if they're playing their oki game right it shouldnt work (except maybe against tager..) but even then alot of characters can see it coming.

And command grab is useful but i doubt it'd be a good tech trap. If you can time it right and do it on neutral tech reaction it might be useful but I've never gotten the timing right and I would rather not stand next to them waiting for the neutral tech especially against characters with decent DPs. Whiffing it is not very healthy also. I find it good after a blockstring to dash back in and do 236c. Really easy to catch them off guard.

And on the subject of grabs.. I've eaten a normal grab after I reaction Jayoku counter'd Jin. :psyduck:

He grabbed me before it hit :(

^ Or you land your kick right into his grab and you die. :vbang:

214D~B is very good if you don't spam it. It's like your anti-everything. :V

Although, yeah, it takes GUTS to use it on wakeup since a poke will totally hit you out of it.

2A's a better tech trap imo. Although not on anyone who has a legit DP, or Tager. 360s all day if he figures out that you're going to keep doing that. :psyduck:

Well, I've only ever tried it once, so I don't know how exactly it works. Was pretty cool to have Hazama adjusting his hat while Tager is doing his whiffing animation, haha.

you can use 236C as a reaction neutral tech punish in corner. other than that you throw it in randomly during pressure to make them scared of everything

2A is pro, that's for sure. Against Tager I've taken a liking to IAD backwards jB. Hazama's huge jB reach will tag him regardless of how he techs. There's nor reward for it, but it keeps him further away.

Wow... 6C is godawful if you guardcrush with it. I broke someone's last primer with it today, but daggers #2 and 3 hit immediately after, making it completely worthless. =\

I can't even guard crush people :gonk:

Takes too long to dish out gp breaking attacks but that does sound pretty crappy.

Which is why you get good enough to bait for counterhits with it. :eng101:

I actually did manage to get a counter with it when I accidentally used it, then 5D~D>j.2C'd into Hazama's BnB, and it upped the damage quite a bit. ...Shame it'll never happen again, but I'll always have that memory. :keke:
