Sophisticat Posted August 12, 2012 Author Posted August 12, 2012 ^ I have a square jaw. Does that mean I'd be a sexy beast in JP-land? "I am Fenrir and I have come with my Agito. Now gimme some sugar, baby".
Schneider-X Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 We should really make a separate thread for all of the loketest info, I'm having a tough time keeping track of info in the general discussion thread x_x
Moblin Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Does this addition of Agito mean that hakumen can use a 1-star overhead from hop?

Sophisticat Posted August 12, 2012 Author Posted August 12, 2012 ^^ I don't think there's been any mention of that, but it is a possibility. I wouldn't count on it too much since that would make his mixup actually legit, which Arc has never done.
Sophisticat Posted August 12, 2012 Author Posted August 12, 2012 Yeah, it works, but no mention on whether it's an overhead. The description makes it sound like it's an instant crossover or something.
Warhound Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 How's that thing suppose to cross up? Just air dash it or what?
Moblin Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 If agito isn't an overhead, it's the most overhead-looking-move-that-isn't-an-overhead since 6b (when it wasn't an overhead)
mAc Chaos Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 If agito isn't an overhead, it's the most overhead-looking-move-that-isn't-an-overhead since 6b (when it wasn't an overhead) But that was part of the mixup! :V The best fake mixup ever.
xlolxlolx Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 5c>renka>kishuu>2c>hotaru>air dash>j.2c>5a>j.b>j.2a>dj.2c>agito = about 3.9k heh 6 stars for under 4k good jokes looks like mugen during od = full meter until od ends, guess theyre rly trying to push you to use dat x factor
mAc Chaos Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 8 stars -> 5k combo lolol It seems like they want him to be a mid screen brawler this time, given how Agito is the combo ender and it just knocks them down next to you, and how throw works now.
mAc Chaos Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Someone should try and use Zantetsu and see if it could be useful for once. The other combo routes aren't bearing any fruit so we might as well try.
Warhound Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 If agito isn't an overhead, it's the most overhead-looking-move-that-isn't-an-overhead since 6b (when it wasn't an overhead) If agito doesn't have overhead properties then they basically just gave us Hazama's j.214b....except it costs meter
mAc Chaos Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 It does 600 damage raw and you can't combo off it anyway so... wouldn't normal 6B be better anyway.
Warhound Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Yeah, I guess so. Personally I want to see Haku's CT 6B again. So what if it wasn't an overhead, taking that away would just make his mix-up game less annoying, not really "weaker". It stuffed lows, and most importantly just looked so intense.
Isuna Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Regarding CT... did he have a normal overhead? o.o Read some JBBS yesterday, someone said that Zantetsu only dealt 2427... Could one hope for better proration?
mAc Chaos Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Nope, he just had Tsubaki. Haku was never known for mixup.
Darkside937 Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 ^And Zantetsu. Any idea how fast Agito's startup is? Mite B cool if it's fast enough to persuade people from punishing Hotaru if you could frame trap them by canceling into Agito. Know what I'd really like to see? Give Haku a command grab to help supplement his mediocre pressure and mixup. Not a purely damaging one, but maybe something like Hazama's that opens them up to other things. The way Haku's offense is designed (no true gatlings, pressure revolves around hops), he's probably always going to have subpar high/low mixup and giving him this would be a good alternative to trying to fix it. Make it a grab-n-headbutt that causes the new forward throw's stagger; give forward throw its wallbounce back. Costs two magatama.
Sophisticat Posted August 14, 2012 Author Posted August 14, 2012 I think EX Haku has great pressure. He doesn't even need mixups because you can just do wtv and sort of Frankenstein something together and it'll work.
BladeOfJustice7 Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Nolan, it's never been about how his pressure is when he has meter, it's about when he doesn't have meter. Now more than ever yes, his pressure is very strong once he has 3+ stars, but 2 or less leaves him lacking, and it has always been the case. I too thought of him getting a command grab, but then he would obliterate people if he had meter when doing it. It's not really that hard at this point to open up the opponent, coupled with having such incredibly (though not so much any cp) burst safe combos. I'm certain Spark has been reading all of this. It would be interesting to get your thoughts on all of this Spark (agito/bbcp hakumen/hakumen pressure/mixup/bbex hakumen).
Sophisticat Posted August 14, 2012 Author Posted August 14, 2012 I've never found his pressure lacking whatever his star count. Even with no stars, he still has his counters, A/B move chains, (tick) throw, 6b, j.C for carry, etc., and a couple combos available. The point of no-star pressure is to show that you can't be taken lightly at any time and keeps the guy within your pace and control. It's also there to build stars so that while pressuring if you happen to land something, then you were properly positioned to take advantage of that opportunity. It's why I'm always doing RTSD with Haku. Keeps them on their toes and all that. Command grab would be way too much, imo, lol. He'd be OP for sure then.
Warhound Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 (edited) Even with no stars, he still has his counters, A/B move chains, (tick) throw, 6b, j.C for carry, etc., and a couple combos available. The drives have nothing to do with pressure, it's a tool to keep people from getting predictable. And besides that the risk/reward is terrible against a good player. j.C is straight up zoning and corner carry. He has a pressure game, but it's still lacking without even one magatama. I can't think of an instance where both players are on the ground and you can just hop right without them trying something. If you don't land in on them from a j.B or something (which against some characters that's not even an option) you have to hop, or most likely, Kishuu in. We don't have Ragna's lol5b to rush in with, most of the time I see 4C > Gurren > Kishuu. From that point, without meter you can: 1. jab 2. hit confrim a 2B 3. tick throw 4. annoy with 6B Without some meter, we can't get in a hop Tsubaki, or even a hop Hotaru to stop some funny business. Best thing we got is tick throw, which is why I agree a command grab is really needed. Edited August 14, 2012 by Warhound
