sergetrigger Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 I have a question... How do I stop myself from going auto combo every single time... I mean I know other combos, but I keep going to the same one over and over, and each time I try and pry myself away from that one specific combo, i would either lose badly or blue beat.

Stop doing that one combo. Lose a lot until you start doing better with your other ones. Seriously. Basically, don't get discouraged by what happens when you pry yourself away from it.
Halcyone3 Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 I have a question... How do I stop myself from going auto combo every single time... I mean I know other combos, but I keep going to the same one over and over, and each time I try and pry myself away from that one specific combo, i would either lose badly or blue beat. Usual reason for that to happen is that you are autopiloting ALL the time, so whenever a hit goes in, you autopilot into the most familiar combo on reflex. So stop doing that, try to be as aware as you can of what you are doing and plan moves ahead of time. Don't just spontaneously go "i'll use move X", cuz if it hits and you dont have a wagonload of experience backing u up, you won't react optimally. Plan moves ahead of time, so if one hits you already have a follow-up in mind. Only when you have a lot of experience, muscle memory, and a good reaction time, should u spontaneously throw stuff out. For added incentive, do what i do. Whenever i do a combo when i know a better one, i just stop pressing buttons as soon as i notice and until i get hit. Or punish yourself in some other way you find fitting.
Guardian Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 LK I know you're good at MB, maybe you can help me understand Kouma a bit better. I know F-Kouma's oki game is godlike if you can execute it, but other than oki, what benefits does F-Kouma have over C-Kouma?
mikenapalm Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 Dear LK, I wanna be just like you when I grow up. Do I need to be more aggressive and force my way in more, or play a stronger keep away game?
Lord Knight Posted May 6, 2011 Author Posted May 6, 2011 LK, i know that was already asked, but time passed, videos were seen and CSII is already out on something that is not the arcades(at least it's on PSP), so i guess it is valid to ask again. What's your opinion about Litchi in CSII after seeing how she is now? Who do you think are her bad match-ups? And her good ones? What should one practice first when trying to learn Litchi? Considering she is not exactly easy to learn. (If you can answer in a more CSII oriented way, please do) Do you think someone can give any opinion about match-ups based on cpu fights? (That's a sad thing) Sorry if i wrote something wrong, i'm still learning english. I think Litchi is still a strong character. She does really high damage off Daisharin now, more than CS1 sometimes. And they started to use some really strong, practically unseeable mixups. Her pressure is overall stronger (both thanks to buffs and system changes). However, I still feel like loss of itsuucan really hurt her and made some matches much more difficult. Litchi had great comeback power in CS1 if you were good at hitconfirming (taking them to the corner). I think Makoto is probably one of her hardest matchups right now, because Makoto is more or less the same as CS1, while Litchi can't do what she could before to win (1 hit > corner). Most of her matches are even. You should learn Litchi like any other character - learn common go to moves, basic bnbs, basic mixups, etc, while gradually familiarizing yourself with the character. Matchup advice based on matches against a CPU pretty much is meaningless, because there is no 2nd person interacting with you. I have a question... How do I stop myself from going auto combo every single time... I mean I know other combos, but I keep going to the same one over and over, and each time I try and pry myself away from that one specific combo, i would either lose badly or blue beat. You have to really force yourself. It might be hard, but casuals =/= tournament. Casuals are practice time, so make sure you use it to try out new things, including new combos. LK I know you're good at MB, maybe you can help me understand Kouma a bit better. I know F-Kouma's oki game is godlike if you can execute it, but other than oki, what benefits does F-Kouma have over C-Kouma? KoumaF's oki game is good, but what really sets him apart is his neutral. He has one of the best anti-air normals in the game - 2B, as well as still maintaining some of the pros of the other Kouma's (mainly mixup). More than anything, you should learn how to use 2B properly. Outside of that, he's just a fast grappler. KoumaC has a better pressure game but too much rebeating will sacrifice damage. Dear LK, I wanna be just like you when I grow up. Do I need to be more aggressive and force my way in more, or play a stronger keep away game? Learn all the characters and what they can do. I still feel like you just try to escape gaps rather than trying to understand the characters. Right now I feel like you should just learn what the rest of the cast can do as far as pressure and find answers with Hazama. Just doing "stuff" after IB is very risky. . . you can be creating gaps that weren't there before, thus leaving yourself open for things that you shouldn't even be getting hit by.
André Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 It's either CPU or setting the other character in training mode to do blockstrings and see what can i do, what moves are useful, etc. I don't know anyone here that plays BB. The first time i searched i didn't find anyone, so i'm putting my hope on the event that will happen next month. Sometimes i almost quited playing BB because of that. What do you think BB needs? I mean, one(or more) mechanic(s) that should be changed or added that would make the game better. Tao had the best neutral game in CS. Do you think she still has the best in CS2? And...can i make any questions related to GG?

Most people start with that. Where do you live though? Have you checked the match finder subforums to see if there's anything going on next to where you live?
André Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Brazil. And i've checked the Match Finder subforums, didn't find anything that is related to here. And online is tough, connection is really bad. Hey, i just remembered something now, i know a friend who might know someone who might play BB.(People who like anime/mangá/japanese things as a whole.). Might as well give it a try, maybe i'll find someone.
Nini Heart Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 You should PM Hiago. He is a Makoto mod and lives in Brazil too. Ask him about the scene and maybe he lives next to you! Don't give up, there are scenes everywhere!

CS1 is little dead now because of CS2, but once the patch is up there'll a lot of people to play with and connection against brazilians is pretty good usually. We also have a msn chat if you are interested.
André Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Thanks Nini and Riku. I'll check hitconfirm and see if I find someone that lives around here and plays BB.
