Yes. I don't think it's anything more than .5 or 1 in Haku's favor, though. Carl has a hard time dealing with Haku's range, footsies and counters but he can still use and abuse his resets and mixup. He just can't autopilot.

LK, i'm trying to switch to a more reliable and balanced character. Can you give me pointers on what i'm doing wrong with Hazama please?

I'm going to ignore the first sentence and just watch the vids.

1. No need to stay close to Tager at all in this match-up unless you need to. You were dangerously close a number of times and dashed in when you didn't need to. You even lost a game because of that. Assault the man with your chains.

2. Get that j.214B ender down. Then you can just jump back in the air and continue to throw chains at him before he has a chance to really do much and keep him in block.

3. Don't fly in on Tager with your first chain (as it was usually blocked). 5A will kill your approach. Also, you have no need in the match-up to play that reckless like @ 0:51 of the first vid. You have the life lead, stay away from him and just play like an annoying little fly.

TL;DR: Once you have a sizable life lead, there is no need to stay close unless he puts himself there. Use your chains to put him into block and/or fly around to let the magnetism wear off. Keep him afraid of pressing buttons and you pretty much have the match.

Hope this helps.

@Skye: I almost spit my coffee out today when I saw that picture today. Good shit.

I know the match up, but playing like a FAG is not fun for either of us. I'm looking for advice on my Hazama himself, not the match up.

Playing lame != playing correctly.

Playing to have fun in "casuals" = perfectly normal. But I guess a tournament player like you(lol) wouldn't understand the notion of playing for fun.

Inb4 Sirlin.

Hazama, played well, is very lame. He is a zoning character in case you didn't notice. If you want Hazama advice, ask in the Hazama boards.

I'm not even a fucking tourney player lol

I'm not even a member of a scene atm, which I am sad about. Everybody is so fucking far from here. Working on getting a few people, though

Yeah people say that, but the Hazama's i've seen winning are RTSD like Zidane and Buppa. I'm not even sure Hazama's a zoning character at this point. Only character he really plays lame against is Tager from what I've seen from the top players.

No, Nini.

Just no.

Haz's mixup isn't that godlike, honestly, it's just that his shit leads into good damage, especially in CS2. Failed to block 6A? Enjoy 6k

True, but buppa doesn't really rush people down. He just confirms the chains into Hazama's strong oki game. Hazama doesn't really look as lame as say... lambda... but he is.

It's not his zoning game that makes Hazama lame. It's his runaway game.

I made a poor choice of words. Instead of "lame", I should have been saying "safe". Like the other high tiers in this game (save maybe makoto), hazama has the tools to minimize the risk in his gameplan without sacrificing other parts of his game.

Posted

Yeah, Makoto has her work cut out for her in terms of being safe. I noticed how most of Hazama's shit is safe when I started playing him.

As for mix up, I disagree. He has a decently fast overhead which comes out really randomly, very good lows and a command grab. I dun know how having an "effective" 3 way mix-up isn't great. Add to that IAD cross ups with his retarded J.B and J.2C, jump cancellable pokes, and you have a character whose mix up can really keep you on your toes.

Backdash

congratulations, Haz mixup blown the fuck up outside of corner

congratulations, [insert random character] mixup blown the fuck up outside of corner

Oh hey, you just found out one way to get out of most of the cast's mix up.

Cept everyone has answers to that. IAD J.2C/J.B>5C>stuff and your backdash gets blown the fuck up. Now please stop your theory fighting by saying retarded shit like that.

Next thing you'll be saying: DP, congrats, [insert random character]'s mix up blown the fuck up.

Seriously though, Haz's mixup is exceptionally vulnerable to backdash.

Just because there are answers to your answer doesn't make it not legit. Yes, as Tsubaki, I can bait DPs all day. But IB>DP blows me up at 90% of my blockstring, and, no matter how much I bait, that is still a problem.

Well, I have not once seen a player abusing his backdash to make haz's mix up constantly ineffective, so that might be from my ignorance. I will investigate this matter by watching more top hazama play.

As for Tsubaki, I don't know much about her except that she sucks and I can IB>2a most of her stuff.

Think of it this way.

Haz has two overheads.

One gatlings into nothing but supers, though it does admirable damage.

The other is from stance, and stance is much more vulnerable to options for leaving pressure.

You have a point about Haz having a command grab, obviously, but range, etc.
