Fallacy Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 Ah thnx, indeed I inputted the dash too early. Feels kinda strange tho, u can see her slow down and thats when I input the dash. I'm now stuck at mission 7 can't seem to get that last hit on the 5cc a 100%... ah well back to training room for me ^^. Btw I know this isn't even at my lvl at execution but how do they do the 623c and 214a? because if I try to do it I always hit my opponent out of the air even if I try to do it as fast as I possibly can If you're hitting them you are probably too close to do it raw. I always do 5bb 5cc 623c 214a when im practicing it.
pktazn Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 Oh yea, if you're too close then you won't whiff no matter what you do. Derp, don't know how I forgot that.
dDissAa Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 ah ok hehe then that's the problem I thought you could do it raw
excelence Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Question, can Tsubaki do iad combo after grab? ... i don't have too much trouble on 22d starter, but grab starter kills my execution =_=
dDissAa Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 she puts the opponent to the ground doesn't she? Anyways I thought u 6C and then 2cc into air combo or does 6c 236b 5b 2cc also work?
pktazn Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 (edited) IAD combo after grab? Yes, I'm pretty sure you should be able to iirc. Throw > 236D > dash 2CC > IAD combo. Edit: I think you can add a 5B or 5C before the 2CC and it would still work as in Throw > 236D > dash 5B/5C 2CC > IAD combo. But I have to double-check on that. I'm sure someone else will give a better, more confident, answer by the time I wake up again though lol. Edited July 22, 2011 by pktazn I derped
BatousaiJ Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 I'm not gonna boot up my PS3 to make sure(about to pass out) but I'm about 90% sure you can't get a IAD combo off of a ground throw. After the throw, the untechable time becomes very short and a few hits in, they'll be able to tech. This works though... Throw > 236D > dash 5B > 2CC > 236B > 214B > 22B. There are different options off air throws and of course in the corner but that's about what you get for 1 charge mid screen off a regular throw.
pktazn Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 (edited) Lucky for everyone (maybe?) my PS3 just happened to be on and since I kept editing my post I wanted to see if it worked or not. I amend my earlier post. Batousai is right, you can't do it after a ground throw. After the 236D you can only get in the first hit of the dash 2C before they can tech out at 2CC. EDIT: If it's an air throw though, you can do it since challenge 8 is exactly that. Good night all~ Edited July 22, 2011 by pktazn
excelence Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Thanks all,... guess i can't break 4k without blowing my resource on grab starter XD
Airk Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 It's kinda weird that it works off air throw but not off ground throw since they prorate the same - I guess it's because after the air throw you can go more or less immediately into the IAD combo stuff, whereas with ground throw (midscreen, anyway), you have to do a 236D pickup first?
Rhiya Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 No, ground throws just really do prorate more heavily. Ground throws have 90 p1, airthrows have 100. The p2 is the same, though.
Airk Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 oh, you're right. It was the double numbers in the P2 column that confused me. Ugh. Stupid mornings. z.z
Rhiya Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Yeah, throws have multiple hits, and the second one is the one that prorates. That's why throw>RC is so good as Jin -- 90 p1, 100 p2, instead of 90 p1, 100 p2, and 55 p2. You gonna get owned.
redsilversnake Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 After the 236D you can only get in the first hit of the dash 2C before they can tech out at 2CC. Did you mistype there? 'Cause I know it's possible to do B+C>236D>5B>2CC>236B>214B>22B/C.
pktazn Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 (edited) Derp. Yea sorry it was 4 am when I typed that. I ment IAD > jCC after you land the 5B > 2CC. They can tech out around there faster than when you're usually going for the IAD combo. Edit: I think I posted about just trying to go for the dash 2CC instead of 5B they'll tech out before the 2C hits. But I do remember adding the 5B since just dash 2CC wouldn't work. I have no idea why I forgot to post that. I blame how late it was. Edit 2: if anyone wants to double-check and correct me go right ahead. It was late when I tested it so my execution was probably off more than usual. Edited July 22, 2011 by pktazn
Errol Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Did you mistype there? 'Cause I know it's possible to do B+C>236D>5B>2CC>236B>214B>22B/C. This is character specific.
Airk Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 This is character specific. Technically anything involving 236D OTG is character specific, but that combo is pretty standard, in that it works on anyone any sort of 236D pickup works on. (i.e. anyone who is not Makoto, I believe.)
Fallacy Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 That doesn't work vs makoto :o I really don't play against her enough
Errol Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 I think it also doesn't work on valk and platinum? But it's not that they tech before 2cc, just that it misses.
BatousaiJ Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 From what I've tested, it only doesn't work on Makoto. Kind of like the whole 5C sliding pick up not working only on Jin. Wonky ass hitboxes, I hate em'
dDissAa Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Here I'm with another question ^^, I've been doing that insta wiff combo untill the dash part, everytime my combocounter turns blue. Do you have to do it realy fast? Because if I do it in the corner the timing seems to be around the tip of the 2c, is this correct or am I that wrong? btw I'm a Ssf4 player so i tend to do thing when I see em connect (kinda bad habbit for this game)
redsilversnake Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 From what I've tested, it only doesn't work on Makoto. Kind of like the whole 5C sliding pick up not working only on Jin. Wonky ass hitboxes, I hate em' You also need to time the 5B differently on Haku-men; maybe Arakune as well, but it's been a while since I tested it on him, so I don't remember that well. And, as Errol said, it seems to not work on Valkenhayn, but I didn't test him that extensively, so he could just be like Haku-men. I also couldn't get it to work on Tager in training mode, but I think I pulled it off on him in a match the other day, so he also might just need different timing. Everyone else, though, it works fine on, even Platinum and Carl.
excelence Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 err... On combo section we haven't got any fatal combos? ... haven't seen many Tsubaki vids but is there any more damaging option other than 6c>214d>2cc>iad>jcc>5b>2cc>iad>jcc>5b>2cc>236b>214b>22b>6c>super ... about 5.1k with 1 charge and gain exactly 50 heat before super and trying to maximize midscreen combos since haven't got used with the weird delay on 2cc>236d at dp whiff combos 5bb>5c>2c>214d>2cc>iad>j.cc>5b>2c>236b>214b>22b ... 3.4k and 32 heat gain, only work on standing opponent and character specific
Rhiya Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Yo, so, uh, I remember you all saying 236D OTG combos don't work on Makoto. And my time in the lab is saying otherwise. The timing is definitely tighter and a bit different, but they do work. You basically need to OTG her before she slides too far for you to dash and catch, whereas this isn't really an issue with the other charas.
