Well that's tragic about the lack of playstyle info >_<

 

But thanks all the same!

 

Hyped about the new characters and release date tho~. Is there any evidence of this coming west anytime in the foreseeable future? Or is going to be another case of import only? (Didn't mind importing CP at first, but now everyone else can get stage DLC and can understand the story and game options so I feel a twinge of regret.)

As expected of French Bread, all the menus are mainly in English so I don't even need to think about doing a Menu Translation. And apparently Training Mode will have something that displays the number of frames... but it doesn't give the details.

 

It's a shame game doesn't seem to have Challenge Mode, because I always like playing it when trying to learn new characters...

Will have to wait and see what the sub menus and options are like first. It's common for the main menu to be in English. Too bad it's not more detailed on frame data, but that's why we have 60fps recorders for. Yea, no challenge mode is going to be tough for a lot of players. I personally dislike the majority of combo routes challenge mode teaches players but it's something to get new players on their feet.

Not official right now, but AWS is working with Fresh Bread in the dev. and publisher of the game so maybe a PSN version could be posible? Like AH3/ AH3LM

EDIT: Already made my preorder from AmiAmi, so...since this game gonna break consoles soon should UNIEL Mizuumi Wiki be updated with all the new info? its so empty.

Basic info for the mizuumi wiki will be going up soon, possibly over the weekend (I have some Hyde notes down, but I'm waiting on the decision for how to format the wiki before I put anything up). It's probably going to be pretty barren until the game comes out and people have it in their hands, though.

Wald looks like a really solid character. One of the few grapplers done the right way.

 

Or rather Tager is one done the wrong way..

I like how Juicebox emphasises that KoF13 does not have any grapplers. They are just characters with command grab specials.

 

I'd like to think of Waldstein the same way.

I think what juice tries to say is: yes, command grabs are cool, but people focus in it way too much, and let pass a lot of other strong points those characters have.

 

For example, ST zangief have the best crossup of the game, is the only one that can throw while crouched (what save his life against numerous mixups), can use lariat to save himself from projectyles chip damange, have some awesome normals (f.st.lk, cr.hk), have high stun moves (headbut can 100% stun in jp version), etc.

The same can be said about almost any grappler that i can think in sf alpha, sf 3, kof, fatal fury, last blade, etc.

 

And a quick look at the wiki (http://in-birth.wikia.com/wiki/Waldstein_%28Gameplay%29) and some matches of n°1 walldenstein (like http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm23387451 from 10:31 to 13:52) make it looks like wald depends way more in his normals (like dash B ) than in 360 by itself. Like, how many people haven't seen that some wald normals destroy projectyles?

I personally hope we get more palettes

maybe some more sly anime/etc references like Yuzuriha's Reimu palette (Shrine Maiden) and her Miku one (Underwater Sun)

Gordeau has a Dante palette, too.

I just want this to be a real thing (a real luffy palette that is. the hat would be infinitely cooler, though):

I was looking through the menu screens when I noticed that one of the screens showed Hyde and Yuzu meeting each other in Arcade mode (which never happened in either of their original Arcade stories)

 

Nothing really surprising since I think the new articles mentioned "new scenarios," but I thought it was interesting.

ah yeah i knew they were friends as kids, i forgot if she went there or not

forgot the story between orie and hyde

but yah i guess Hyde needs to put his charm on

im sure he could get every female character to live there at this rate (with waldstein watching trying to be fatherly to Linne) :lol:

Isn't Linne older than most characters in this universe?

Nanase is looking more and more to my liking. From the 4Gamer screens, I'm really liking the move where she dashes past an opponent,  leaving a slash and a tornado behind her and the move where she summons a small horizontal tornado in front of her, going out from her arm. Might end up playing Nanase as much as Orie at this rate, lol.

How old is Waldstein anyway? He looks pretty old himself with the gray hair and everything. He might be older than Linne, unless she unlocked immortality a long time ago or something.

Also, how do you pronounce "Linne"? Is it pronounced like the English name "Lynn", or is it pronounced "Rin-ne" like the title of Rumiko Takahashi's story?

The latter seems to be the case from the kana and, well, the in-game pronunciation.

I pronounce leen-neh,with the accent on the 'n' and a clear 'e' at the end.
