Surf Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Crazy its been a year and couple months since then. Just realized how long we've all been waiting for this damn game. Now I can finally study characters and not be scared if I'm wasting my time or not Wonder how Nanase will play though.
Jotamide Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Despite being super happy the port is finally coming, if the Bestbuy leak is to be believed, then this game would get at most 2 months of playtime before everyone moves to P4AU (and that's for importers, a localized version would live even less). Not to mention that Xrd will hit harder than a meteor at the end of the year. I will probably get it, but it makes me sad that the online will probably be dead within a month. Just like last year with Darkstalkers on PSN.
TekkamanArk Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 I'd be sad about the short online life, but, I just want to play it really. Still play Chaos Code sometimes, which has 0 online.
Stellarcircle5 Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 It would definitely be a stretch to assume Under Night would gain a following on par with P4 or Xrd, but there will still be a dedicated (if slightly niche) group of players. I can imagine it being around the same level of popularity as something like Skullgirls, which is one of, if not my favorite, fighting game of all time. Regardless , I wil do everything I can to promote the game and keep information flowing, I might even overhaul Seth's Mizuumi wiki article. I hope there are people here who are willing to do the same!

TekkamanArk Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Haven't played it to contribute, but I am spreading the word myself.

Just like last year with Darkstalkers on PSN. I think a number of people will play it for a while. Chaos Code got little to no notice by a lot of people. Despite it being a pretty good game no one seemed to really care. And I think I heard the online was bad. Darkstalkers I heard had really good netcode but for some odd reason people didn't care much for it either. Despite them crying for some type of revival of the series. Persona, I don't know about. Because quite a few people feel iffy on U. Japan hasn't seemed to care much for the game much recently and outside of japan I've seen some people just view the game as borderline kusoge. And before the years over Xrd will come and U online will probably die off rather quickly. I hope the online doesn't die off fast as shit. Because I really want to play the game and for awhile too.

Surf Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Oh... yea. I forgot. I always wondered why I mostly online saw it offline. I forgot the online wasn't even there. But wasn't it supposed to be patched in later or something. Its been so long since I had a conversation about the game
Stellarcircle5 Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Chaos Code is the epitome of the word "decent". Almost to a fault. Anyway. Is there any word on whether or not UNIB will be available as a digital download off of PSN? Not sure if that would be a given or not since BBCP is the only game I've ever imported and I don't know how all this cross-country mumbo jumbo works.

Sourenga Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Anyway. Is there any word on whether or not UNIB will be available as a digital download off of PSN?Yes, there will be. Gematsu's news doesn't mention it, but if you check their source you can see the confirmation for digital version. Both will cost 5000-something Yen and digital will be cheaper, according to that source.
Tachyons Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 https://twitter.com/kilvear/status/458975508122722304 Not really a surprise, but Nanase confirmed.
RurouniLoneWolf Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Nice. Is that Mori holding up the Magazine? Can't tell with the magazine in the way. Though I can't see it clearly, I really like Nanase's character art. I'm looking forward to hear more about her, hopefully in the article that should be releasing tomorrow. A bit late but on the topic of localization, I wouldn't say the chances for UNiB to be localized is terrible. ASW did localize Chaos Code after all and UNiB has more going for it, including being from the developers that made Melty. That said though, if they do decide to do a localization, I'd be surprised if it wasn't 6 months to a year later. Highly recommend importing if you're interested in the game. Also, I'm not too worried about online in terms of player base. I think we can get a decent dedicated fanbase going for this game. I know I at least plan to play this game regularly so look forward to playing my terrible Orie and Yuzu! That said, I'm much more worried about the quality of the online itself. Building a solid player base will become much harder if the quality of the online isn't at least decent. Hopefully, the article talks more about how they plan to implement online.
SolxBaiken Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Calling Chaos Code a "localization" is giving it too much credit lolol Also it had nothing to do with ARC, more to do with the fact that the game was being targeted and published for the Hong Kong & Asia markets, so Engrish [along with Chinese] were included for boarder appeal [and the original home ver of CC was published by Sony Asia]. ARC just wanted to broaden its influence and like all of the work was already done
Kairos Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 This is the day I've been waiting for I've been following this game since it's been announced and it's good to see it finally be confirmed to come to PS3. I'm gonna do whatever I can to support the scene and the game both online and offline because this game is really solid.
RagnellBlue Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 If ASW handles the netplay portion of the port, I'm not going to worry about the online play too much since I tend to have a generally positive experience with their netcode. More than anything, I'm just happy to see the game finally get a confirmed release.
Sourenga Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 http://s.famitsu.com/news/201404/24052150.html New article haa been published on Famitsu's page. First screenshots of Nanase. They say there will another new character besides Nanase.
Tokkan Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 http://www.famitsu.com/news/201404/24052150.html Hello there Nanase.
SoWL Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Is it just me, or there are way too many girls with swords around? Where's my giant gloves girl?
Jocelot Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 I think this is the first time I've seen her official, non shaky, non LQ. A school girl with a big sword and Hermes boots, eh? Hermes combat boots...
Sourenga Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Where's my giant gloves girl? Anyone else from the Licht Kreis can't be present during this game because of the plot restrictions. Maybe in "Under Night Re-Birth" or some other weird named sequel they all get added. Which leaves me to think that the other console exclusive character will be this mysterious Enkidu or a Vatista-clone.... or that Skullgirls character >_>
IndigoNovember Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Is it just me, or there are way too many girls with swords around? Where's my giant gloves girl? Now that you mention it, every girl has a sword to some extent @_@ . Linne, Yuzuriha, Orie, and Nanase all wield them as their main weapon. Hilde shoots them. Vatista has sword wings. Eltnum is the only outlier, but that's because she's from Melty Blood.
Kairos Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Which leaves me to think that the other console exclusive character will be this mysterious Enkidu or a Vatista-clone.... or that Skullgirls character >_> there's always the possibility it's a character we haven't seen. Though a Skullgirls character could get it some NA attention
