Tokkan Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Play-Asia says UNIEL is not regio-locked: http://www.play-asia.com/under-night-in-birth-exe-late-paOS-13-49-en-70-7pwv.htmlThough they're probably right in this case, Play-Asia makes a whole lot of assumptions so I wouldn't take them as a credible source.
Surf Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 No one should be worrying about region locking tbh. From my understanding Persona was the first region locked full PS3 game and it wasn't the fault or Atlus or Arc. It was Index, Atlus's parent company at the time. For some odd reason Persona's localization was finished in the Japanese version. Like completely finish, story mode and all. So to prevent everyone from importing the JP version and not wait 2 weeks, they region locked it. And EU got shafted by a 6 month bullshit wait. It was all in all a dumbass idea for them to approach a localization and a release like that. And I doubt any other company would want to follow suit. This is going to be a long 3 months though.
BladeOfJustice7 Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 I'm honestly surprised I'll finally get to play Gordeau and there's now a reason to keep watching this game. I never actually thought I'd play this game, now for money....

Children were conceived and delivered before Europe and Australia had a chance to even consider running tournaments for the game. Will the game get a scene in Australia? Probably not. Am I going to play and try to get others to do so? Damn straight.
White Man Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 This is a somewhat nitpicky issue, but I hope they update the stages for the console version. This game does a lot of things right as far as its visuals go, but it literally has THE most boring stages I've ever seen in a fighting game. At least throw a couple NPCs in there so we have a tiny bit of background movement or something, man.
Argent Zero Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Why is everyone so worried about UniB being region locked? I thought PS3 games were all region-locked free? Or has there been examples that proves otherwise. Regardless, this looks like a promising game. Well worth looking into.
SolxBaiken Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Because people fear something that happened once on a scale of very miniscule instances, which was only decided upon for a very realistic business point of view, no matter how scummy [which certainly doesn't affect this release since it is in no way planned for international distribution at this point] Also I like the stages, having an uncluttered arena is nice, and well they are like that because [plot] lol.
NecroTheReaper Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Wouldn't less active stages also -supposedly- help with good netplay? There's a lot of lag friendly and unfriendly stages in BB, and they have either little or too much going on respectively.

Their is certain event ( I think call the void) where only few individuals can enter a different plain that most people (such as NPC) can't see or interact with. Though their is little excuse as to why stage can't look little more lively. But as of now I have no issue with them.
DopeLenny Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 If anything they should at least add some daylight versions of the stages to the home port. I personally have no problems with the empty stages, I just kinda wish the majority of them weren't night blue. I mean I know it's due to story and all, but I think brighter stages with more colors would make them somewhat less dead. Or more so if you consider there'd still be no people in a daytime version of the park stage.

But yeah, people are playing a lot with assumptions there...

The fights happening at night is part of the game's story.Though I think they could squeeze in 'early dawn' version of some stages for sure.
stickystaines Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 I must say i pretty uch ignored this game when it released, even after the update. But now that the announcement happened and the hope that arcsys might deliver a good online to this game, i went back to look at some recent matches and it looks so fresh again. I dunno if the update has anything to do with it, but probably because it's just been so long. Wanna play some gordeau or yuzu
fiendmaw Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 This seems like a good time for it. If anyone wants to know how UNIB was like before ExeLate kindly pass on this link to them:http://youtubedoubler.com/?video1=tCLXJCSXB0k&start1=937&video2=OPx-nUqLMtc&start2=29&authorName=UNDER+NIGHT+IN+FUCK+THIS+SHIT
Luminos564 Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Huh, so ASW is bringing UNiB to consoles then. Any chance we get this thing localized? I mean, someone was able to do this with Aquapazza or however the hell you spell that, so is there a chance for this game too?
RagnellBlue Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Play-Asia officially has the game available for pre-order. Not sure if they plan on doing anything beyond a standard version, but I guess we'll have to wait and see. http://www.play-asia.com/under-night-in-birth-exe-late-paOS-13-49-en-70-7pwv.html

Well then, they should have gotten a little more creative with the locations. A parking lot, an intersection, a shopping mall... It's like somebody was wondering around a city after dark just writing down what they saw.
Appledash- Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Gonna scrub it up with yuzu it's gonna be great. As silly as they are I hope the guest characters stock around for the sequel. I don't want to learn Eltnum and have her not be in the sequel. Sent from my RM-917_nam_usa_100 using Tapatalk

There's a lot of lag friendly and unfriendly stages in BB, and they have either little or too much going on respectively. Stages shouldn't affect netplay in anyway, if so, then there is something wrong on how the game is handling netplay
Dogars Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Is there anywhere else to pre-order the game other than PlayAsia? I've heard some negative things about the site and i would really love to be able to get the game when it comes out with little-to-no issues...
VietGeek Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 What negatives about Play-Asia have you heard? I've never had problems with their services and most people don't. The most common issue I hear is that shipping is either expensive and/or slow, but all I have to say is the Pacific Ocean is a big place. What day does JP PSN update its store selection? Hoping to pick up a digital release ASAP exactly because I don't want to wait for my copy. I want to play right away Under Night.

Other places like amiami will probably have it eventually. You can also get it through PSN directly if you want.
