Haha, we gotta get some matches in "eventually" too. I don't play as much though, dat WKC2 takes up all my time =/

Is it just me or does j.C now have like thousands of frames of landing recovery? I mess up them landing combos way too often :/

It feels fine to me. Its attack level got lowered, however, but this doesn't affect combos much (except for jC CH combos--this really sucks).

I'm aware of the attack level, usually I can do them just fine. Something feels terribly "heavy" now, doesn't feel so smooth anymore. Just an example, if I get a CH j.C near ground I used to run up 6C > combo but now I can't even run up anymore. Meh, must be me then. Otherwise I really enjoy the new Jin.

so that combo video sure was cool, im still trying to figure out that mixup and ive been trying since i saw it on nico this morning lol also has everyone been voting for ren to be at godsgarden?

EDIT: i really think he is just doing a parlor trick in the combo movie to hide how he is actually doing that mixup as each time he does it he cuts the video in a clip where the combo is 4 hits and i cant get it to work lol

Went ahead and opened the EX match-up threads since some people already have the game and others have access to it via arcade machines. The information in there will be minimal for now since we don't have access to the frame data and people are still figuring things out. The match-up format will go as follows:

The Neutral Game

Long Range: Your Tools vs His/Her Tools

Medium Range: Your Tools vs His/Her Tools

Close Quarters: Your Tools vs His/Her Tools

Offense

Defense

Gimmicks and Resets

Match Summary

All contributions to the match-up discussion will be appreciated :)

What, the "3C > 214A" stuff? It's easy; I've been doing it since I got Extend. After "3C > 214A," you just dash forward, crossing under your opponent. He's just cutting the footage to show different mixup options.

well mainly the jump, it looks like what he is doing is just 2 vertical jumps up but he can somehow choose if he wants it to cross up or not when i first saw it i thought it depended on how long you run but i can't get it to work if you can please share because it seems really fuckin useful

nvm i think i figured it out

:yaaay:

6C > 214D > chasing 2D > RC - I'd use it

2C FC > IAD j.236D > reverse 6C - I'd use it

Those 214A mix-ups look like fun but do you really have enough time to empty jump like that? Couldn't they just do a quick jab and AA you?

the opponent really doesn't have as much time as you are thinking they do. while im sure there are ways to try and get around this mix up im just as sure that there are ways to counter those counters

btw good format for the match up threads

I'm taking your word for it, these mix-ups have potential.

As for the match-up format, the more organized the better lol.

@Solex8 Well, you can "dash forward > jump up > jump back" to cross-up. Compared to superjumping, it's slower, harder to input, and costs you your second aerial option. On the plus side, it's a more ambiguous cross-up.

@Moi_X7 The fastest empty jump into 2B (i.e. no cross-under) will beat almost everything except for reversals and certain low invincible moves. For example, it beat Platinum's 5A, but traded with Noel's 5A (I'm pretty sure Noel's 5A is the only 5F normal that will hit Jin crouching). Doing "superjump j2C" will beat everything except really fast reversals (such as Inferno Divider and a lot of DDs). As for cross-under stuff...it's certainly less safe, but still pretty good. For example, doing "dash forward > superjump back > j2C" beats Ragna's 5A and 6A, if you time it correctly. Valkenhayn's 2C is pretty godly though. The best I can do against it, with this setup, is to make it whiff (which is actually pretty awesome).

just speculation but

5c CH< 6c dc< 623D...

I'm thinking since 6c launches them farther and I think it has a longer hit stun (don't hold me to that statement because I don't really remember the changes).

@Xx_Hoshi_xX And hit with 623D(2)? Nah; it's not even close.

"CH 5B(1) > 6C > 2D" is possible from max range on Ragna. The combo does ~3k. Near the corner (a little bit past P2 starting position), "5B(1) > 6C > 66 > jC > j214A" is the way to go. This combo does ~3.5-3.6k.

Created the Gameplay Mechanics thread, that's it for my mod duties for today lol.

So... does this mean you're gonna play CS2? Or do other stuff?

I don't know if my dad is streaming at the moment. I'm gonna grab a quick snack and I'll try hopping online.
