Psyken Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Netplay grabs are _____ HORRIBLE and I hate that I know a grab is coming but even when I click B+C at the same time, it seems late. Purple grabs.. no problem. Green.. /rage. So is there any tips for this? I've been playing Blazblue for 3 years and I've "seen" it all but maybe I'm missing something.
Kurushii Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Take the tech window frames, subtract it by the latency of netplay, and then subtract that by your reaction time. Only thing I can say is getting faster reacting to it. Either way it's not easy online. Ive seen the best players get green thrown free online so don't get salty over it. It's netplay. =3
destruction_adv Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 I've learned that the best way to tech netplay throws is to turn your console off, especially if it'd cost you the match. Seriously though, I trained myself to press B+C the instant I hear the sound of a throw or see an exclamation point, you just have to be more on point online. Practice until you dream of teching throws, that's all I can say other than try to avoid throws as much as possible if it's really a big issue, but that's hard to do on and offline..

Don't worry about it. NETPLAY DO BETTER Honestly no real answer fits. Best you can do if you are free to grabs or slow is play the player and maybe you'll get it over time.
Rhiya Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Use one of two OSes: 1) OS throw tech 2) OS "fuck netplay" OS throw tech, 4/1A+B+C, lets you tech throw and barrier at the same time. However, there is less leniency on TRM with OS throw tech. OS "fuck netplay" is to scream "FUCK NETPLAY," and pretend you would've totally hit that throw reject offline.

Most of the work that goes into breaking throws has to do with anticipating them, so netplay should not be a significant factor. It does suck if you properly reacted and lag made it not break, but those should be the minority cases.

I have the same issue you're having. Sometimes I tech it. Other times, it's like 'wtf, I saw that grab coming a mile away. WHY COULDN'T I TECH?!' I'm assuming its because of the grab mixups I did against you when we played, right? ._.

Its just been like this for me, since CS1 and I'm only now starting to get annoyed cause there's a lot of grabby Ragna's lately and they all seem to play the same way. x.x; Thanks a lot Dusk! Moy_X7 Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 OS is your best bet. I'd say to rely on sound and visual cues, as well as the distance between you and your opponent to tech throws but it varies from netplay match to match.

There's the few that make you go "┻━┻ ︵ヽ(`Д´)ﾉ︵ ┻━┻" "wtf!" Grabs are grabs and I couldn't imagine a fighting game without em. I really do need to learn to start grabbing other people though. I've never had the mentality to do it other than after someone grabs me. lol A lot of grabs you can just see coming though and it just irritates me when I miss it. For example: When someone knocks you in the corner and they're in your face by the time you get up.. Well.. I'm WAITING to see the green and when I press, its like "Ha..ha.. you missed.. Here's a BK combo from Ragna nao! :D" and I'm just like " ....." lol

Up back is very easy to time.

That's what I've been doing these days. That's the thing though.. I don't always know.. Some player's know you're going to jump and when that happens I get grabbed there too lol.
