I'll be making regular nightly rooms without private slots. East coast. The catch is ima arakune. Didn't realize he was still do controversial. Anyway I'd like to play more because everyone I've fought has been good (from this thread). Online timing still feels weird to me - not bad - just weird.

But those are the ones I need to fight the most since I wanna shift my focus and get good at this game. Vs lamda is all 4dash barrier in while swords plink off me, tech the air grab, barrier more swords, finally get close only to have her backdash and start again. When I finally get to try some mixup and pressure it's poke poke wait for her 4b resume poke. Lamda is not someone Arakune can beat so much as survive. It's a good lesson in patience and not having access to Kune zoning tools.

Anyway my local Arakune learned how to beat 2D from Bang so I had to opt for just outplaying him. I don't succeed because I don't wanna block in curse unless I'm Tager lol.

That's actually really smart. His forward dash is pretty fast. You may have just leveled me up. And bang 2d is free to lows I think. I love the panic 2d with an empty jump in to land shark fc. But honestly I don't know the bang matchup very well since most of the ones I've played have been spazzy or free to fcs in frkz mode. Actually, Bang doesn't seem to be playing the same game half the time....

Some Bangs flail about, others are standard. Some likes to burn resources for easy kills. Some like to pressure a lot. Some like to mix up a lot. Some want straight FRKZ. Some take it easy and just fuck around. Some does whatever the hell they want and play randomly. I do whatever I want but lately I have been fighting chicken blockers so I had to adjust to them to win.

And is Lambda 4B godlike against Arakune pressure or something? Or are you just fighting mashers?

When his mixup starts off of , say like, a blocked 5a - his 6a overhead is slow and easy to react to, 4b interrupts his 2a, since I don't always gatling, but instead pause to bait a ch or gauge how they're gonna block. Eventually I started getting 4b mashed out of everything. Don't assume that I know what I'm talking about either, because I'm the blaz equivalent of a home schooled kid. I do know that short of a far away random ground bug, arakune will never outzone a lamda.

The real trick is you want to get close to Lambda and just pressure her, you don't need to mix her up as long as you are close enough to do rising j.B>dj866>j.4B then you will be fine. If Arakune moves too slow in that match up you will just lose. Believe me I did Arakune vs Lambda, I only lose when the Arakune gets close and pressures. If Arakune doesn't get close then I just stay at long range and pick him apart until he dies. Man I haven't touched that match up in forever.
AchedSphinx Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 I've actually never used 4B against an Arakune aside from 4B[2] mix-up, maybe I should start using it more. But yeah, it's quite understandable, Lambda is good against characters that lack a lot of mobility.

I typically chose Tager against Arakune since whenever I try to use Lambda, I get like one or two matches before they say "Fuck this shit" and leave. I just know that FoG can be annoying. And that my blocking with Tager is way better than with Lambda.

Then when they remember the match up becomes sad for Tager. Edit: the better question is why Arakune's 6A is jump cancelable and even on block? What the fuck were they thinking!? pneuma Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 honestly f of g is a game changer. Plus the fact that pretty much anything can combo into it. I still haven't mastered the 100 heat recurse, but I've only seen fumo do it in a match. Normals to jc are a blessing and a curse. I always stay off the ground against tager for butter churning reasons. But if you jc normals consistently it's begging for an air grab counter or worse.
