TD Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 I'm a stick player and I have been facing this problem for a long time. Every time I'm barrier blocking, be it in the air or on the ground, I block using A+B+C and holding back. Before I get to break a throw, I already get a throw reject miss because I am holding A+B+C, and apparently the game registers the B+C as a throw, even though I'm also holding A at the same time. This means that I always get a throw reject miss which results in always getting thrown since I don't even get the opportunity to break the throw. What can I do against this? ;_; Stop relying on this to tech throws, and instead use it as a barrier/rapid button only. This way you can differentiate the two when the situation arises. Tech throws later than they are executed, not too much, or right before you're about to get thrown. That means you should know the throw is coming, but that is a useful skill to hone. After all, the only way to tech a green throw in this game is to know it's coming basically. In general, getting throw counter/throw reject miss in most cases means that you pressed a button right before the throw (below 5 frames which is the input buffer for this game, unless it changed to 3 I'm not sure), so in general you need to start teching throws more accurately. Nothing the lab cannot fix.
Fatalis Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 When should I barrier block and when should I try to instant-block? I never know exactly when I should use each of these.
Cambuki Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Does anyone know how to use the reversal that costs 50 heat when blocking. I main izayoi and apparentlyt his is suppose to help but idk how to do it lol and not talking about her distortion. It is suppose to be a universal mechanic.

Myoro Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 When should I barrier block and when should I try to instant-block? I never know exactly when I should use each of these. Where do you want your opponents? If you want them close by so that you may punish them, use instant block as it leaves your foe closer than normal block. Instant block even reduces your blockstun so that you may attack sooner for some tasty counter hits. If you want the opponent far away because they are doing some autopilot blockstring or you have the advantage at mid/long range go barrier. Barrier block pushes the opponent farther than normal block, but INSTANT BARRIER blocking will push the opponent even farther than that, which usually leads into one heck of a stumble by the opponent. When deciding how to block also consider your situation. If you're in the air most "non A button" that your opponent has will be AIR UNBLOCKABLE, which, contrary to the moniker means you can only block them with a barrier block. It is always a good idea to keep enough Barrier to keep yourself guarded in the air (and against crush triggers too.) Barrier is also used to negate chip damage, and so sees much good use in fights against Kokonoe and Amane (especially when your health is at extremely low.) An important thing to keep in mind is that when an attack is barrier blocked you (the defender) do not recover from blockstun for an extra frame, which can amount to a lot. Another important quality of instant blocking is that it gains you additional meter! So should there be a time when you're stuck blocking a multi hit attack you can make the best of it and mash block for a bajillion instant blocks and upwards of 50 meter for free! (Nu's Legacy edge, Tager's Magnetec wheel, Valkenhayn's Sturm Wolf, and Bang's steel rain are examples of when you'll be doing this.)

Beat_By-X Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 1- How many match i need to play and win for up to the next color ?? 2- For up color is possible to up in player match and in online lobby or just online lobby ? 3- I need to play with same or better color THAT me for up because YELLOW vs GREEN you never up ????? Someone know the exact system for up your ID performence color ?? Thanks for your help guys
Putin Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 In my experience, colours change only by playing people of the same colour. I became light green on day one, and it's been like this up to this day. I was usually playing people with different colored squares, but now that I started playing a light green I immediately ranked up to yellow. There's also a yellow guy who always beats me 5-30 or something, but I never ranked down no matter how much I played with him. If I drop to light green again after losing to him, then I'm probably right. I don't know if you rank down by losing continuously to a lower ranked square, but you almost certainly don't rank up by beating higher ones so I guess it works both ways.
Argent Zero Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Anyone have any idea when there going to update the character balance in this game? Getting sick and tired of all of the broken characters and there edges.
Tokkan Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Anyone have any idea when there going to update the character balance in this game? Getting sick and tired of all of the broken characters and there edges. Probably after Xrd is out in arcades.
Callisto Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 If you bait a burst, does burst cooldown have counterhit status the way most reversals do?
MakotoTBE22 Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Thanks alot i am curious about tournaments and where they were being held thanks for the info Sent from my LG-MS770 using Tapatalk
Dark Ranger88 Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Thanks alot i am curious about tournaments and where they were being held thanks for the info Sent from my LG-MS770 using Tapatalk The Event Announcements board: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?4-Event-Announcements and the Match Finder board: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?36-Match-Finder Would be the best places to look as far as I know. For smaller local stuff, I have no idea, but if you find a thread that's close to your area then you can probably ask them. There are a ton of people that are from NY that play this game. Certainly more than in Hicktown, Tennessee.
Ash of Arcadia Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Lemme know if this question has been answered...but does anyone know if we're getting the extra stages and bgms from the older games as well in the LE?
Kurushii Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Lemme know if this question has been answered...but does anyone know if we're getting the extra stages and bgms from the older games as well in the LE? Colors 22-24, and the classic stages/bgm's have not been announced for any other release except for JP.

Lamme Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Any point in getting into BBCS:EX now or would some other arc game like P4U be a better bet for me? Haven't heard about any EU release dates yet which worries me a bit. I do own BBCS:EX for the Xbox, but back when I played it for a while it didn't seem to have players online, so I thought that I could give it another shot on the PS3 side instead.

The online scenes usually migrate to the new game when it is released. My friend had CS during Extend's reign, and there was only one person online that he could play against. You'd be much better off getting CP or P4U. I can say, from experience, that there are always people online for BBCP unless you are playing at like 6am or something. Good luck in whatever you decide to do.

Your question fueled it and there has been no announcements of any more patches. If you don't see a lot of people talking about it here then it's a fake rumor. If you own a PS3 i'd recommend either importing BBCP or waiting till the US release of BBCP in March. BBCSE and BBCP are a lot different. BBCP is a much better game overall. You won't find much to anyone left playing BBCSE on PS3. If money is concerned then maybe try picking up P4U cheap. There are still people playing it and P4U2 should be out on console in the middle of this year.
Lamme Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 (edited) Thanks for the quick replies. I might just import the new BB then, as I really want to play arc games again, and sadly the online population is one of the biggest selling points for me. (barely anyone plays those games offline here). Never imported anything before, so that's going to be a new experience for me as well lol. edit: nvm didn't think it would be that expensive to buy a game that has already been out for a while, think I'll just wait for EU or US release ;> Edited January 21, 2014 by Lamme

Though if you really wanted it you might be able to get a better deal if you just download it off the Japanese store and buying yen cards. I forget if it is actually cheaper at all though I do know you get it immediately which is nice.
Sic- Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Ï just made a Japanese PSN account and bought both GGAC+R and BBCP a couple of days back. No problem at all. Just follow the guide Kurushii made, and it will all be fine I do, however, have a related question. Where do I get the two DLC characters? Is it in-game somewhere?
