When your opponent leaves the room don't send them messages calling them pathetic because they lost a few times. Especially if said person up until those losses bodied you free since CS1. And then don't RQ when you're about to lose to said person again.

Definitely seeing a pattern with anti ragequitting.

I've never ragequit before but God damn I'm angry enough to half the time. This game really brings out the rage in me. A lot of ragers and rage quitters online seem to really boil when you are beating them but personally, I get most angry when I mess shit up; especially combos I do all the time.

>Messed up a bread and butter combo I do all the time the other night

>Cost me the match

I nearly chucked my controller through the screen lol. It just feels so stupid, it's like losing to lag.

Meh.

This so much.

I cannot stand when I mess up a combo or lose because of BS. That reminds me of a Valkenhayn I fought in ranked. I did a near 7k combo, had him on the ropes. I was so close to winning.

AND WHAT HAPPENS?

Moves don't come out, I choke...lose match. :psyduck:

I agree with this. I've had people do that. I don't know the matchup, I get annoyed, I need time to cool off. I receive a PM like 'Haha, you really do suck'. I mean grow up, its online. I probably would have kicked your ass offline.

If the host asks you to pass after you sweep the room, you should just pass it and don't fight with them about it.

Don't just assume that you would beat the other person offline if you lose. You both have the deal with the same problems with netplay.

Just have fun and don't get really angry

I got a few for everyone:

1) If your getting blown up on wake up please block. DO NOT BLOCK WITH YOUR FACE!!!!!

2) It is okay to be free, but try to adapt don't just complain on forums.

3) Put some effort in defense. Up backing/back dashing/mashing, is not the way to go

4) Enjoy the game and leave that salt in your system till your body naturally removes said salt.

5) If you mash throw setups and jab pressure on netplay, you probably want to learn real pressure before going offline.

666) Ragna time all the fucking time.

Either PSN is a far, far bigger hellhole full of morons than XBL is in the BB community, or this is nonsense. I've gotten more hatemail in 6 months of playing SSF4 than I have in like 2 years of BB.

I'm not saying hatemail I mean in terms of playstyle. (Going for astrals all the time, playing dumb on purpose, etc) I guess I should also say out of all the anime games.

Don't complain about people's play styles. Don't quit the game unless you've picked the wrong character or beginner mode or something, in which case you should quit early and apologize. Don't counterpick to a weaker alt if you're winning unless your opponent is alright with it (some people find it insulting).

If you're playing a game that's laggy enough to have a purple tech throw window so small that you can't tech them, then you shouldn't play against that person. Whether or not you want to BE that person is up to you.

Obligatory response to call-out.

You ragequit at the end of the third round, so I trolled you and called you sad... (success!) You deny having ragequit. Would you like to see the replay of where you ragequit? Oh... yeah, sorry, couldn't save the replay. You ragequit.

Moral of the story: You're an awful bang, you were never good, get trolled more.

And folks, this is the proper etiquette for ragequitters. /stir pot

Anything goes, imo. Just don't be a dick.

How about being nice(verbally and message-wise)...but playing like a dick?? This is my curse.

I don't really understand the concept, or the hate for hitting people with Astrals. Generally I applaud when I get hit with one.

Sounds perfectly normal to me, keep up the good work soldier.

I agree, especially if it's from a Bang or Lamda--considering how difficult it is to land their astrals (Not to mention the God awful input)

I'm getting so tired of people just kicking me out of the room after a few games with them... Or kicking me out just as I come in X__X.

You guys got your Noel nerf! When will you be happy X__X!?

You have my humblest apologies, that is awfully unfortunate. I've been victim to that a few times. However I am indeed one of those people, I too hate Noel beyond all measure. As a character and an opponent. I suppose I have my failure to beat my cheap as hell roommate for that. I cringe at just hearing her voice. (Especially her japanese voice, ugh)

I won't be happy till I can overcome my roomies bullshit I suppose. Everyone has their reasons ha

I agree with a lot of the points people brought up in the topic so far.

I generally think, in the end, anything goes online, though there are a few things I've seen that people agree upon. Besides the no ragequitting / mic spamming people have mentioned, there are some other things of etiquette I've encountered:

For the sake of allowing players' networks to synchronize, people generally will let the full match introduction play out.

People usually will pass after they sweep a room. Sometimes it bothers me if someone sweeps a player match room and does not opt to pass. --But then again, since they did win, whether they want to pass is really up to them. =P

People mentioned being double-perfected in here--I'm not too bothered by being double-perfected. But I'm new still, so I kinda expect it. =P I think I've been double perfected at least 100-200+ times. >>

It actually bothers me more when someone decides to switch characters when they're doing well against me. I WANT MY REVENGE GRAAAAH! *twitch*

...Though I sometimes wonder--

Is it actually rude to stay and take up a player slot if you suck too much? =X

I...I'm trying to suck less! I swear!

If they don't say anything, assume it's fine. It's easier that way.

why would it be rude to play the game. if people dont want certain types of other people in their room, thats why theres beginner tag/expert tag/room name/player slots variations/kick button etc. and most people have no problem specifying (or doing, in kicking's case) what they want.

so no.
