I think Mu will be playable, possibly console version only though. I think we'll have to complete all or part of the story to unlock her (unless Mori wants us to clear Score Attack/Abyss for her. Heck, I'd get 100% of the achievements if it meant unlocking Mu)

They hide them just to increase interest in story mode. No reasons to remove them from arcades just to add them to console versions as small bonus.

Yeah I fail to see how hard it would be to just dump her in there with no story relevance at all. Make us go old School and Press Select + A over Noel or something. Getting rid of such an amazing character design would be so dumb.

Speaking of story modes I wonder if they will have to remove the gag reel :(

I wanna see it go like is there are X amount of story lines as Mori revealed but you choose a character and then you see the scenario through their eyes and then they can some how work in a way to have choice one leading to their ending of it and the other to gag reel land.But maybe at that point it really just does turn into individual stories I guess.

There's no reason for it, but let's face it, sometimes game companies do things that make no sense.

Are there many people who appreciated the gag reels? I thought most of them were unfunny except for a select few (Valley/Pirate Nu in Ragna's, Makoto's entire thing, Tager's). I guess axing individual stories means saying goodbye to 'Help Me, Prof Kokonoe', that's unfortunate, I really liked those.

For what it's worth, they could just do some kind of group-oriented gag reel for whatever story section you're playing at the time. IIRC, there's at least 3 character-group segments? So at least 3 gag reels?

You guys have extremely limited imaginations lol

The fact they're grouping the stories really could change little, just because several characters fall in the same "group" doesn't mean they'll always be together all the time, just that they'll be the focus of attention, and they said you'll be able to switch between characters within said group, so it's possibly to have different interactions based on who is being played. Thus it is completely feasible for their to be individual/personalized endings and gag reels.

Just look at Mortal Kombat 9's story mode. They could (and probably will) do it similarly. They could just put a gag reel in each character's segment. There's no rule that says each story can only have one.

Also, since the unannounced boss is probably not Saya (I doubt they'll put in an unplayable boss.) who do you guys think it will be? I think it could be Kokonoe. Think about it, she has Jubei's strength, Nine's magic, her own science expertise, is a very plot-important member of Sector Seven (which is supposed to be a big part of this game's story), is willing to do anything to take out Terumi, and is one of the most highly requested characters whom even Mori (I think it was Mori anyway...) wants playable.

Plus, isn't there a fairly old interview somewhere where Mori mentions that Kokonoe's at the top of the next-playable-character list and that she's supposed to play like Baiken or something similar? I think it mentioned Tenjo's son likely becoming playable as well.

It's nice to know someone else likes that godlike game.

Anyway I agree on the idea that they could sneak a gag reel in someones segment. Has anyone thought that the whole route idea won't shorten the individual stories too much? It's probably only dividing the characters up to 3 different acts of the plot and nothing more than that.

My only wish for the new story mode is for the script writers to come up with some jokes that don't revolve about breasts, whatever their size is. Yes, even though Bullet is going to be introduced.

and I can still see Saya being playable in the future, but with a whole new area (and each addition to the cast being completely brand new) who knows, there's still alot of unknowns in the BBverse.

Don't mind me, I'll just be waiting over hear from the Dark Wars SRPG...

I'm still hoping that the unrevealed boss is a little more than the 3rd coming of Nu/2nd coming of Mu. I mean I'm okay with that but I'm still holding out for a witch. As long as this next character's a zoner everything's okay though. We have enough RTSD characters as is.

Rachel, Arakune and Amane can't be the only zoners right?

not gonna lie, I liked all three of the extra gag reels in extend, via makoto, platinum, and relius story modes. Makoto's was godlike, admittedly Platinum's was my least favorite, but relius being tuxedo mask was hilarious, and relius's had kokonoe in it which is always a good time.

This for sure. Zoners are fun!

I liked every single gag reel in Blazblue.

If they got removed I would be very upset.

This for sure. some of the jokes were admittedly pretty lame but id rather have them than not

They are lame a lot of the time, but still funny 99% of the time, it's like a guilty pleasure.

Blazblue is one of the very few games to get me to laugh, out loud, more than once a playthrough, I'd be pretty sad if they got rid of the joke endings.

As far as hopes regarding the new story mode, I'd like see three things...

A) End the current storyline, doesn't have to mean the end of Blazblue and future stories, just the whole 'fighting the Library and Hazama and the Imperator' story. I'm afraid if they continue for too long, it'll end abruptly for some reason, either because they can't or won't make new Blazblue games, and we'll be stuck with "To be continued!" forever. Go ahead and have new plots in games that come after CronoPhantasm, but don't drag this out like a Dragon Ball Z arc.

B) Change the format of the story mode from what it is currently, where you pick one character and follow that character around until an ending occurs. I'm not saying GET RID OF IT COMPLETELY, what I'm saying is, don't make it the bulk of the story mode.

The ending of Continuum Shift suggests everyone is going to be in groups, to a point, you got Ragna and Tao, Noel and Makoto, etc etc (I don't remember exactly what the group compositions were, but practically everyone was a part of one), it would be silly for everyone to get to Ikaruga then suddenly WHOOPS WE ALL SPLIT UP FOR A BUNCH OF REASONS.

C) Bring back Teach Me Miss Litchi, regardless of what's going on with her now, and Help Dr. Kokonoe too, heck introduce a new thing while you're at it too. These little animated sessions were my favorite part of both games.

The story mode has been confirmed to be broken up into a few group stories rather than 9001 individual ones.

Bullet's theme is pretty cool. It has this odd sense of military presence and influence. Perhaps consistent with the state of the military and government across the planet in the BlazBlue universe's story.

Bullet's theme sounds promising to me. I just wish some leak of the tracks came out. But it probably won't happen until disc release.

All I can say is Winter 2012 seems far away lol.

The new tracks in Extend were posted not too long after the arcade release.
