That's a LOT of time....Good thing I'm importing. Gonna buy the english version to give them support though. Probably they want to release BBCP farther away from the PS4/X1 release since most people won't have much money the next weeks after that.

But...the people who buy BB are not the types to buy the kinds of big blockbusters you're talking about. BB isn't even competing with them because they're aimed at two completely different demographics.

Just because people play BB (or anime fighters if you will) does not mean that they won't play mainstream/"big blockbusters" games. Don't know where you got that from...

I don't look at games as I did back in the day due to time/budget constraints but I still plan on getting GTAV :eng101:

As for the US release date... ugh... count me out, I can't do a late Q1/Q2 release. I know that it's a tentative release date but it's not that farfetched for them to go for a release that late. Importing to the rescue!

I remember it happening when i was watching videos when CP was first around. Thats the only example i got at the moment.

Yup, that's exactly what I meant.

Mmm, I guess we'll find out for sure why that happens when we get our hands on the game in October.

So basically we can't get CP earlier because some big names are dropping their "blockbuster" titles and systems? *Sigh* Sometimes I hate this whole process. I mean, if this were a JRPG (the only other kind of game I play) then this wouldn't matter. But fighting games are a different matter, especially those with active online communities. You pretty much have to get them ASAP in order for your skill gap to remain consistent with other players. I dunno about the rest of you, but I don't particularly enjoy being tossed around by someone, have them gloat over their victory and then tell me to go hang myself simply because I lack the means of importing a title 5 months earlier.

But, I suppose there is no helping it. Not everyone has an equal lot in life, though it still sucks whenever stuff like this goes down.

> Picks Terumi

> Beats you with Terumi

> Corpse stomps you

> Corpse stomps you again thanks to Terumi's winning animation

So, uh, why exactly can't (or won't) you import?

I don't know what game you're playing but unless you are playing the game "hardcore" there WILL be a skill gap regardless if you import or not. There will always be someone better or who plays way more than you can even imagine so you shouldn't feel obligated to import for that reason.

Ex. I've played less than 2000 matches in Extend I think, some might say that's a lot, then you realize some of the people I play against have played over 8000 matches. Even if I import, there's ZERO chance I'll ever "keep up" with those players.

Just seems silly to look at it that way.

So, uh, why exactly can't (or won't) you import?

It's "cannot" for me with the primary reason being money issues. Especially now that I've had trouble finding work in recent months so I am literally dependent on being able to trade other games towards my purchases.

Oh I know. I don't usually even bother fighting someone who I see has over 10,000 matches under their belt. Just tell them "Sorry" and bow away in shame. I'm just going off personal experience. Whenever there was a long gap in-between the game's localization, I usually feel the difference as everyone starts handing me my ass on a platter. Even those who in the previous iteration were no better than I was but have had time to "mess around" longer than I did. And it isn't like they were any good either (especially not when compared to some people I see online), it was just my first day as opposed to their 153rd. Basically if possible, I'd like to avoid that "Bad First Day" with CP though not being able to import ain't going to do me any favors.

It's only about 12-20 more dollars depending on where you import. I probably wouldn't import myself if it cost about $80+ and then the shipping fee. Well, good luck with finding a job.

2 things...

1. Just because people have played several thousand matches more than you, does not actually mean that they're better than you. I've played some people that have played several thousand matches more than I have and I can still either body them or win against them fairly consistently. The same can be said about me and other players, I have several thousand matches more than they do and they could probably still body me.

2. Don't do what most players do: hop online/play other people after a few hours of practice in the first day and expect to win. Unless you're a fast learner or talented/experienced, you're just gonna get bodied. Give yourself a few days or so to get comfortable with the new changes and then hop online/challenge other people. You can still play them on the first day, just don't expect to win against people who have an idea of what they're doing.

Thanks, I'm gonna need it. I still have a few months but time really is running out so I'm hoping I land something soon.

1. Yeah, except my match count was always low. Going by both Ranked and Player match count:

-CT was ~900.

-CS was ~3000.

-CSE is at 355.

Extend is so low because, when it came out, I was swamped with other titles and could only afford so much time and I ended up moving to a new place as well. Added to that, I now have the servers kick me off at random when playing online and am trying to learn u-12 offline (handling and some combos) whenever I am not busy looking for work. So you can understand why I don't go out of my way to fight someone who has 6,000 matches with a character. Especially now that CSE is oh-so-old and most of the people I can keep up with have moved on. I know there's some real bad players with thousands of matches but I have yet to find a single one.

I don't though. Most of the time when a new BB is out I do the following:

-Play through story since I actually like it.

-Play through some Challenges or take a few days in training to practice controls and get accustomed to changes.

But regardless of that, my first days online since CS came out have always been a mess. I am not naive either. I am fully aware that I can and will lose at some point. The problem begins when I run into the aforementioned "graceless" winners and racking up loss after loss due to the time it took for my localized copy to get to me.

Well it's not so much as them being "real bad players" as much as them "not being as good" when going by their match count. All I'm saying is don't be afraid of someone until after you've fought them. Now if you fight the guy and you get bodied then call it a day and hit training mode.

Damn straight the release date on Amazon is a tentative placeholder; the 25th of March is the very last possible release date in Q1 2014.

Well, at least this topic quite gained some activity after I posted up the P.O.L. for the English version, lol. But yeah, I'm not in a hurry to pick it up just yet, because I got the previous titles of BB to go through, then the waiting game begins (and other info coming soon). :kitty:

Mind games and execution, alot of people have much better combo execution than me, but my yomi used to be so good, I used to get alot of messages saying i'm psychic...

Also amount of matchs should improve your own execution and knowledge, but its amount of QUALITY matchs that matter, some people will end block strings with -10 moves every time, good players will only ever end on a positive static differance as a simple example.

im not waiting an extra 5 months for this game (7 total). far as im concerned it comes out in 2-3 months.

I feel the same, I was willing to wait for all the others but THERE'S NO WAY I'm gonna wait for CP this game means too much to me.

This is hilariously false, btw. Good players will do what they think will hit you, not necessarily play safe.

Word. Otherwise we'd only see combos off of 5A and 2A. Personally I like seeing good players get rewarded for using riskier moves.

But first, they make you respect them, right?

Some good players have no respect for you until you show them you can escape pressure/DP/gain a hit in neutral. They'll just throw whatever they have in their arsenal at you.

They have noo reason to play cautiously if their opponent can't make them pay.
