Ehecatl Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 But why the heck did she add the cauldron as well? ...That's a new way to say 'I hate you.' She's calling Noel a cauldron. She's not calling her by a name or anything. She's talking to her like a "thing". Kind of makes sense if you don't consider your opponent a person.
SkyBarrier101 Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 All this time I thought she was talking to the actual cauldron.. T.T but when she first appeared, when she said, "So this cauldron...is not yet dust?" was she talking about Noel too?
harmless kitten Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 (edited) I think Kokonoe had to actively fish Nu's soul out of the Boundary and implant it within Lambda. Mori did some magazine-interview thing where he talked about Lambda having only a fragment of Nu's soul, but I don't even remember the name of it. It was prior to the release of CS though. Anyway, Ragna says "A Murakumo Unit that the Azure Grimoire doesn't react to? That can't be. Who is that Noel chick?" Not that Ragna is an authority on...much of anything, really, but he didn't think she was a Murakumo Unit. Edited January 19, 2013 by harmless kitten

I thought the reason that Lambda only had a fragment was because Kokonoe basically erased her memories and tried to seal away her emotions and personality, unless doing that has no effect on reducing the soul which I don't believe is explained. I'll have to play through Lambda's story again. I don't recall it mentioned that Kokonoe put Nu's soul in her. But I suppose it's possible. All this time I thought she was talking to the actual cauldron.. T.T but when she first appeared, when she said, "So this cauldron...is not yet dust?" was she talking about Noel too? Yes. She was expecting Noel destroyed. So she basically shows up, sees Noel there and, staring at her, asks that. But she does call Noel a cauldron, basically treating her like a tool. Which is how everyone's treating the girl. I'm honestly looking forward to Noel being a little badass. She seems to be becoming that. Now Jin... I just hope for some actual character development with him. Tired of seeing him as a crazed, pathetic little wasp that everyone swats aside and lols at. Edited January 19, 2013 by Ehecatl

It's stated that Kokonoe put Nu's soul into Lambda after Nu fell into the Cauldron in the profile at the start of Lambda's arcade mode. And at the beginning of Lambda's story mode Kokonoe tells her that her soul isn't there yet.

SkyBarrier101 Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Sheesh, Noel was serving a woman that excepted her to be dead, god thats funny and really really sad at the same time, Jin on the other hand, I think he should really play a bigger role in the story too. He probably is. PROBABLY.
Master Of Chaos Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 I thought Saya was talking about Ragna when she was talking about the Cauldron. I remember Hazama calling Ragna one in Ragna's Story mode, after the fight with U. Hazama.
Ehecatl Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 (edited) Sheesh, Noel was serving a woman that excepted her to be dead, god thats funny and really really sad at the same time, Jin on the other hand, I think he should really play a bigger role in the story too. He probably is. PROBABLY. I hope so. I really thought his last story developed him better. I mean he started to dominate Yukianesa's influence, starts to listen to Jubei, goes off to get trained by Jubei, is starting to become more empathic and less selfish, etc. I thought for sure he was going to start facing his destiny to fight it rather than run from it and let his influences carry him along. But I don't see that kind of development in the Arcade mode. I mean, we haven't seen much on him yet. But I'm really hoping to see more out of Jin because this is going on 3 games where he's been loopy and irregular with people swatting him aside like a bug. Ragna's getting awesome and finally isn't getting his ass kicked by everyone. Noel's getting awesome and not letting assholes push her around. Jin? Come on man. Make me feel how I did when you went all "I am the cold steel!" on Tsubaki. :D Don't get me wrong. I don't want him to be Hakumen. To be honest, I want him to surpass Hakumen and in some way prove his superiority. But not while he's still all crazy and "Niiiisaaaaaaaan". Edited January 19, 2013 by Ehecatl
SkyBarrier101 Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 He might get a bigger role with trying to save Tsubaki, but Noel got that covered by going all Mu-12 on her, and Makoto... Well what can she do to snap Tsubaki out of it? I don't think she can defeat Izayoi herself... let alone leave a dent... And I think Jin is a part of Izayoi's arcade mode in the end so it's all good.

As sadistically messed up as it'd be, I'd lol so hard if he ends up saving Tsubaki, getting close to her, then turns around to go after Ragna all crazy-like as he's want to do, and then by some cruel stroke of fate, she dies protecting him. Bonus points if Hakumen is there to facepalm.
SkyBarrier101 Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 I'd bet Hakumen would be like "Welp, I warned you, fool."
harmless kitten Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 It's hard to glean anything meaningful out of Google translate, but in the CT novel prologue a wounded Jubei shows up at the church with Ragna, Jin, and Saya. They all have blond hair, so the white-haired Ragna in the CTR flashback was probably an error. Very interesting. Also something I noticed: why is it that in Continuum Shift Hazama calls Nu the Sword of the Imperator/Izanami, but in CP she's called the Sword of Izanagi?

I never saw him with white hair back when Jin or Saya were alive. He was always shown with blonde hair until after his little traumatic experience. Was there a scene in the reconstruction where he had white hair in a flashback? I saw the reconstruction not too long ago. If so, I'm surprised I didn't pick up on it. But yeah I'd definitely consider that... off. And as for the second part... ehhh... I thought he was still calling her that?

I thought he was still calling her that? He has white hair in one of the illustrations. If not white, a blond so light that it looks white. I assumed it was an error, because trauma does not bleach your hair white like that. They pronounce it "Sword of Izanagi," but I suppose it's written to mean "Sword of the Imperator." But I could've sworn it was pronounced as the Sword of Izanami in CS. Might be me forgetting or some weird stuff going on. Ragna seems surprised at the name.
mitsuyoshi Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 He might get a bigger role with trying to save Tsubaki, but Noel got that covered by going all Mu-12 on he Well,to tell you the truth,Jin is the one who break Izayoi from Saya control and Izayoi arcade is happen after Jin arcade mode where she seeking for a reason to fight.
Tokkan Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Yes... Mu-12 got pwned by Nu. Nah, I read it wrong and it turned out the be the other way around.
Chaoschao222 Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Nu got owned by Mu... that's almost... disappointing... how long after Noel even learns to control Muification does she fight Nu...?

Iron Maw Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 (edited) Nu got owned by Mu... that's almost... disappointing... how long after Noel even learns to control Muification does she fight Nu...? Canonically Mu should be stronger than Nu and considering that Mu is also Noel's natural state prehaps she can use her abilities by instinct and such. Plus regular Noel manage to hold her own well against Nu in CT. >Logic >BlazBlue To be fair this isn't the only time this concept has appeared in fiction. It's more like some old superstition that persist despite scientific evidence saying otherwise. Edited January 20, 2013 by Iron Maw
NovaFortuna Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 I can't help but feel it's kind of cheap that Muel has access to her uber powers just like that. Having Mu be that strong in CS made sense since she was a final boss and was an omnicidal force out of control, but now doing all that with no drawbacks seems a bit too much, or at least have a harder time before controlling such power.
Zangelin Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 She might not be able to controll them fully but kicking Nu's ass shouldnt be all too hard for her really. She held her own against her in CT already. By this point all the characters have grown quite some while NU hasnt really improved at all so shes hardly as OP anymore as she used to be.
Nemesis Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 (edited) Speaking of the Murakumos .... Does anyone know the status of their respective life-links? Everyone was beating on Nu's tight ass in CT.... They just couldn't do shit cause of her life link... The same was applicable to mu in cs - part of the Murakumos great power was their seemingly unending endurance... While everyone else really just got tired Edited January 20, 2013 by Nemesis
