[CP1.1] Makoto Nanaya's Gameplay Discussion - When's 2.0?

You've only read two lists out of 100 list out there on the JBBS. Bang was ranked Mid in most of em, few lists ranks him low. Makoto was ranked low in almost every list, Amane was ranked low in most of em... and trash in the rest of the lists lol.

Then again, I have yet to see any Makoto having anything else but good spacing and basic BnBs, nothing solid or much thing to catch my eyes, so it's still too early to conclude that she's definitively C tier.

Lets not forget that jbbs lists are made by anonymous players from all different levels of skill, and that Makoto was and always considered "meh" by low level players as her Neutral and Offense only shines at high level. I think she is a standard good character both technically and reward wise, play well = win, hard match ups requires some work to win as always, especially Tao.

A lot more fun? New OD and Cosmic Ray are fun yeah but not all that fun, either people are seeing something i don't in the new Makoto, or that i played Makoto so much to the point i don't enjoy it anymore.

Yeah. Certainly true. The average japanese player posting on jbbs isn't much different from the average dustloop poster really.

As for fun, I don't know. Cosmic ray looks cool, I like the look of lander blow for frame trap/pressure resetting too. I don't know if it's just me but asteroid vision seems a lot nicer for approaching too. Oki looks solid... I haven't played Makoto in a while but I like the look of it.

She's fine. Probably will stay mid tier considering how strong other characters are.

Better corner carry; average damage and good unburstable corner damage; more tools - seems fine to me.

I'd just wait for the inevitable early arcadia list. They usually pop up like a month or 2 after release iirc.

Because winning is fun, and we see her not only used significantly more but winning as well, which is the main reason why in our eyes sees so much better. God I cant wait to use her.....and win.

She's certainly better than before. Even if 10 months from now she's ranked the worst character it wouldn't mean the same thing it did in CSEX. Don't worry about it too much.

As a side note Arcadia tier lists are hardly any more legit than ones you can find on jbbs.

As long as she's better overall and fun to play again at the same time, I'm happy! Hell, she's back to her old brutal self from what I see. Screw the early tiers, she's pure fricken' win so far in my opinion.

The thing about CP is, even though Makoto is way better than she was in Extend, you have freaks like Jin and Hazama running around. Does tier matter 100%? No. Does being able to enjoy playing your character matter? Yes. From what I've seen there aren't a lot of top level players using Makoto, but the ones that do are amazing and wreck. I feel like the other ones I've seen don't even have a clue what they are doing.

Also goro proved tiers dont matter that much. Makoto is all fundamentals, ifthey are strong you can win. Just work hard and have fun :3
