DaiAndOh Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 If you're looking for top players and optimal combos, those eggs aren't in the same basket when it comes to µ players in matches. They just don't go for them. Keba keeps telling me that they're "too scary". I see. Again, I think training mode on a console can help circumvent that. We'll see. They def look hard though, even the players that try seem to drop them more.
pochp Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 So... I've been talking about doing this for a while, and I finally did it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-OkF9XP32vg (corner) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02PH_9_DMq8 (midscreen) Let me know if there's anything I should fix or add to the video description. I'll make them public this weekend, and then maybe try to get them on DL and SRK's front page.
Zeromus_X Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Great videos pochp, it looks like you put a lot of work into them. It's great to have a visual reference for all of these setups. Looks like most of these setups will carry over just fine into CP, or even get better with stein buff, crush trigger, and 6B > stein cancel.
pochp Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 (edited) There hasn't been a post here in a while, lol. Here are some local casuals from last week, I play like 3-4 matches in a row per link. I feel like my neutral use some help, anyone want to give me advice? http://www.twitch.tv/bibiquadium/b/432543564?t=2h48m45s http://www.twitch.tv/bibiquadium/b/433399447?t=12m26s http://www.twitch.tv/bibiquadium/b/433399447?t=58m35s edit : archive died. here are some other matches http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtqvvJ7-I2c Edited July 28, 2013 by pochp
Diveman Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 I've been wondering, I always hear my friends complaning saying "man fck Mu-12", but I don't get the source of their rage? is she really THAT good?
TD Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 5c, jc, damage output are absolutely amazing and uncontested with the right conditions. steins supplement a gameplan revolving around these two moves. her strong combos are more on the easy side. it is also easy to 'zone' with her at lower levels. because of these points alone, some experience is required to take her down. otherwise shes a decent character with good oki and consistently high damage.
Zeromus_X Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 She gets a lot of damage off counter-hits/near the corner and can really take advantage of poor spacing/neutral play, which is the thing most newer players are lacking in. She's also a rare character that not a lot of people know the matchup against, and in general, she's just one of the better characters in the game, so it's easier for people to cry about her than to try and figure out how to fight her.
someonewhodied Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 (edited) Noel's 2D is so annoying. Nerf Pls. Freaking invincible to even spike chaser =| Edit: I was spamming my mu's lasers before switching to lambda when playing a few matches in CSE. Typed too fast and forgot to explain this post What do I do to 2D spammy noels? Edited August 7, 2013 by someonewhodied
pochp Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 Kill them with 2C. It leads to a really damaging combo on counterhit, with usually corner carry, so with the right setups, they just gave you the round.
Nemesis Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 I know im behind the CP eightball here but--- 6B is DRIVE cancelable?? dayum nice... thats not a bad trade from being special cancelable at all.....
C0R Posted August 8, 2013 Author Posted August 8, 2013 I know im behind the CP eightball here but--- 6B is DRIVE cancelable?? dayum nice... thats not a bad trade from being special cancelable at all..... Ughhhh but its punishable noooooo
Zeromus_X Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 Yeah 6B is mega punishable if they block it now, when I see it get blocked in match vids the Mu usually gets fucked. On the plus side, 6B > stein cancel can make some interesting combo paths in the corner.
TD Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 she cant do anything safe from it? like an rps game of frame trap/dp/steins and habaya
Zeromus_X Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 (edited) 6B only cancels into steins or 6C now, no more special cancels. If you space it right you can probably get away with cancelling into 6C and then stein/special cancel from there. But every time I see a Mu actually have their 6B blocked and attempt to stein cancel right away, they get punished every time. Maybe if the opponent is unaware, or you're on netplay you can get away with 6B > stein cancel > special cancel, but I wouldn't count on it especially if they IB. I'm fine with 6B being more of a commitment anyway, given its increased reward in CP. Edited August 8, 2013 by Zeromus_X
C0R Posted August 8, 2013 Author Posted August 8, 2013 6b > 6c is a 4 frame gap on IB. Its just a more extreme guessing game. If you don't ib and immediately punish she jumps away, if you do she can 6c fc you.
bakahyl Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 (edited) So how fast can mu cancel the stein after 6b with a dp? Eventhough her dp is even more punishable on block, but whatever. I also tend to see netplay Ragna using inferno divider after a blocked hells fang, so why not Edited August 8, 2013 by bakahyl
TD Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 assuming 6b's level and stein cancel are the same as in ex, 6b > stein cancel would be a 3f gap on normal block.
C0R Posted August 12, 2013 Author Posted August 12, 2013 assuming 6b's level and stein cancel are the same as in ex, 6b > stein cancel would be a 3f gap on normal block. http://www.dustloop.com/wiki/index.php?title=Mu_Frame_Data_(BBCP) Stein cancel numbers however, have been changed, though they are not listed in the mook scans. Though a cumulative -3 on 6b -> earliest stein cancel window seems a tad too fast, as she is continually jabbed out of the stein after it's set, I have yet to see someone super or origins cancel the stein set to beat out a punish.
Lythium Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Though a cumulative -3 on 6b -> earliest stein cancel window seems a tad too fast, as she is continually jabbed out of the stein after it's set, I have yet to see someone super or origins cancel the stein set to beat out a punish. They didn't punish, but it's the thought that counts, right? http://youtu.be/PmXWoT9jl08?t=9m5s
Errol Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 They didn't punish, but it's the thought that counts, right? http://youtu.be/PmXWoT9jl08?t=9m5s incidentally, what does one do when mu starts doing stein spam at the end of a match like that?
Lord Pwnge18 Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 (edited) incidentally, what does one do when mu starts doing stein spam at the end of a match like that? Submit to the fortress of lasers Genuflect Edited August 30, 2013 by Lord Pwnge18
Zeromus_X Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 Yeah, laser fortress is pretty soul-crushing if you let yourself get into that position. You pretty much have to jump/dash barrier and have the YOLO of Jesus at that point.
Errol Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 well, what is the best theory on how you handle that, even if it is just a random yolo thing. Mu players don't do it till the end of the match so i assume it's not a good way to play unless a tiny bit of hits will kill. I'm sure it's not just because they don't want to lame out an entire match. though I think I've seen that against Tager. The lasers seem to come in groups of two, well, because Mu sets a stein and cancels it into another, and then there's a delay before she can set another set of two. Assuming no charged steins. so, Block a set of two lasers, then try to run jump barrier forward? and hopefully dodge lasers, and if you dodge lasers, when you land, do something from there on the ground, hoping that coming lasers will be firing into the air where you were?
