Medic Haus Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 Man, if there's anything I've learned from these Cecil combo videos, it's that 6C is the only starter that matters and no other starter exists. I've been trying to explore Caligula a bit, and it's proving to be...difficult. His damage is awful midscreen, and though it gets better in the corner, it's still lower than the rest of the cast. Has anyone else tried messing around with him? For anyone that's curious I uploaded a video of some meterless midscreen BnB's for Caligula yesterday.
SoWL Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 From what I understand, Caligula isn't supposed to kill you with combos, just with many random pokes and items. Or the devs just figured that players will discover something good sooner or later as long as they give him a crapload of silly things. I won't be surprised if he has something very broken under all the flying panties and tanuki statues.
Cirno Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 oh my goodness qdora is incredible. is the netplay at least decent, i need to play someone ;o;
Fujiwara Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 Netplay between me and Daki. First couple rounds I was trying to figure out how to fight Cecil, was doing much better towards the end. www.youtube.com/watch?v=LKm5dQhaLrc Netplay is okay, Cirno. It's nothing like a Caster, but it should be decent if you both have good connections.
Aloci Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 (edited) Cecil meterless Midscreen combo: 5A, 5B, 5C, 2D, 236B~A, 6A j.B j.C, dj.B dj.C dj.D = 1581 (if it's a far 5A, omit the 5B = 1491) 5B starter = 1851 jC starter (Omit the 5B) = 1795 If you want, you can ignore the double jump and just end with jD. That way you keep your airdash and you pretty much get free airdash pressure. This has good corner carry, and it's useful when you don't have the meter to 236236A his 66A. Edit: I might as well mention that it works just fine off of 2A as well. Nets you 10 more damage lol. Edited May 26, 2013 by Aloci
Mengjun Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 Cecil can actually do 3k off of a c.5B, meterless: c.5B-5C, j.5D, (airdash) j.5A-5B, (run) 2A-c.5B-6A-6D xx 66D, (run) 2C, 5C, j.5B-5C xx j.214AAA (3369, +30-ish meter) Normally, this will land your opponent roughly in the same place as he started (unless you're close to cornering him to begin with), but with you on the other side, so this is even good for positioning if either you are cornered, or you're close enough to the corner (~30% of the stage?). Other starters this works with: (that I tested) 2A-5C j.C, 5C (I think j.C (run) 2A-5C should work too, but haven't tested that out) <- requires a rather deep j.C
Fujiwara Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Almost four hours of me discovering Tae tech. http://www.twitch.tv/fujiwario/videos?kind=past_broadcasts Found a lot of shit that I don't feel like detailing here, watch or pm if you wanna know.
Aloci Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Nice. I'll look into adding this to my list of combos lol. So who's been looking into the 1-meter forced Fatal Counters for combos? I'll be looking at this for Cecil and I foresee some silly shit in the future. Working on corner 66D combos right now lol
Celerity Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 FC's can be good for extending combos, but they don't seem to change the overall damage or hitstun scaling. I think FC's are best used either to: 1.) Combo into a hugely damaging move early, before damage is scaled too hard. 2.) Use the FC late to get a ton of untechable time and go for a second air combo. For some reason, the SMP on air normals seems to be way less than ground normals, so the best combos usually have a ton of repeat air moves.
xlolxlolx Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 (edited) cecil can get slightly more dmg and alot more meter from corner to corner by doing 5aaa rejump loops xn then ending with 2a>c.b>6a>6d>66d>2c>5c>(j.b>)j.214a stuff like throw>walk 2a>5c>j.d>air dash>j.c>walk 5aaa>j.d>air dash>j.c>walk 5aaa>j.d>air dash>j.c>walk 2a>c.b>6a>6d>66d>2c>5c>j.214a works fullscreen dont think fatals mid combo do much for cecil except for like fc 66d>5c>6c in the corner, stuff into 66a>walk back 236d>stuff is probably more efficient for meter use Edited May 27, 2013 by xlolxlolx
Circuitous Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 oh my goodness qdora is incredible. is the netplay at least decent, i need to play someone ;o; netplay's been hit or miss for me, it's basically delay netcode but a little pickier? we should try it sometime.
Fujiwara Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 More matches of me vs Daki https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qs5-TPOyxQ Getting used to the delay again in the beginning. Shits gtes cereal past the halfway point.
president Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 (edited) This is a Cletia combo route I found when 1.0 was just released. Can anyone with more knowledge on the engine tell me if this is actually legit or not? I didn't bother with recording and trying to block it myself, but judging from the moves it's an unblockable, so as long as there's no UB-protection in the game this should actually work and I also couldn't find any way to recover from the sweep differently. Still, it would be pretty awkward to have a meterless kill loop that works absolutely everywhere, starting off absolutely everything. Edited June 1, 2013 by president
BlazGear Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 This game is just mind numbingly fun, how have I not seen this before? xD
KagamineLenQ8 Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 can someone tell me how to play online in this game? i wanna try my Qdora D:
Celerity Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 can someone tell me how to play online in this game? i wanna try my Qdora D: Go to Vs Net, someone chooses the first option and the amount of delay you want. Other person chooses the second option and enters the host's IP. That's it!
Fujiwara Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 I'll try netplay with anyone who wants to try it out. just get to me on skype, Fujiwarable.
Fujiwara Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 Vids Reviel Oki, Combos and Setups https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ySdixzGF-Wk JP Cecil vs Tae https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9e80exU-R8 part 1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvAKvZ8isjk part 2
TexasTim Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 I'll just post these here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77un4niWJyg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDgeRsLskhE Found this game a few days ago. Looks pretty fun. This is Serena Type-A stuff I found while in training mode. Fast fall looks really good. -TexasTim-
Rhiya Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Have you guys considered trying to get this game a wiki on mizuumi? It'd give the game more exposure, and it seems like the right home for it.
TexasTim Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 And here's another Serena Type-A vid. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=We_WFWXkK_4 Shows some cool fast fall combos, Pressure, Counter Hit, and Fatal Counter stuff. I may be mistaken, but this char's pressure looks broken. Air tight mix-up after mix-up if ever a 2C is blocked... -TexasTim-
Fujiwara Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 I'd have to asked Bellreisa about it myself sometimes. I think I will. I could make a pretty extensive page for Tae.
muerto Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 v1.01 came out some days ago, not sure what it fixes/changes though
Mengjun Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 (edited) What I noticed so far: - HUD shows character portraits for those who have them - Combo counter turns blue if invalid Also, I like what I see here: https://twitter.com/yosimiduka EDIT: More glitches... Edited June 22, 2013 by Mengjun
