Sym_ Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 (edited) I have mixed feelings about the footage I saw. So can anyone confirm the comments someone made earlier. Millia J.D can be ADC ??? She was never able to do this before, I can't imagine that being the only normal she can ADC. Just read I-no only has P note...lame.... Edited November 5, 2013 by Sym_
redsilversnake Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 Concerning the damage, it's probably not because this is a loketest. The previous games had damage reduction via the guard gauge, which no longer happens with the R.I.S.C. gauge, so each attack is now doing its full damage. Of course, proration may still be in and/or they could add some other form of damage scaling down the road, but for now, there's little reason to think the damage will change in the final build.
Blade Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 Based on the videos thus far...do we have some idea where all the stages (and maybe characters) are located? I mean, okay, something like Illyria Castle would be in Albania obviously, but what about the other stages? Any confirmation that Slayer's stage is located in Transylvania? New York is obvious.

DaiAndOh Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 Maybe it's just due to staff wanting the lines for the loketest to move quickly, but I'm suppressed no one has commented on how HIGH the damage is in these vids! And that's saying something being that we're talking GG which is a high damage game by nature already. Well I imagine combos are going to be toned down matching the #R nature of the game...that said there was high damage for few hits in that COUGH SLAYER. Also everyone in the test except Pot and Slayer has average or low health.
Aristobule Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 (edited) For the graphic you don't have to worry, when you see it in reality the polycount of the stages is not high and the textures pretty compressed, i spoke with Daisuke a little bit about technical stuff and if i can i will ask him next time, but i am pretty sure it will be exactly the same on console, there are nothing that prevent it, the reason gg xrd look nice is principal because of good artistic choice. (unlike sf4...) I will post the last 10 video later, but it don't include the new characters. Edited November 6, 2013 by Aristobule
mynus Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 Chaz, we should play reload sometime to get into shape. Dude, not touching #Reload I-no ever again :-( Levels of yuck and sadness. Here's hoping Xrd I-no doesn't get bopped...
Aristobule Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 I have a question guys tell me if you are interested or if it look too shady for you. Because of kickstarter recently success i thought it might work. I would like to take better and longer video of all future location test (P4U2,GGXRD, USF4 and other games) but right now i have several problems. Like you know its always forbidden to record in a game center, and furthermore when its a location test so because of that i had to use some ninja technique but it result a very poor quality of the videos and the battery life of my cam is less than 1h. I have make some research and found a perfect way to not be noticeable when i take a video and have an all day battery what i need is This cam http://www.innovv.com/#!specification/ccn9 This battery http://www.just-mobile.com/iphone/gum-doubleplus.html#.Unmuwvm-2HY and some accessory for make them stealth. In return i will give to one of the donors, the new 25th years Arc System Works artbook sign by Daisuke Ishiwatari himself. http://uppix.net/eTkbg4.png And i can film some of the best players of BB and GG in tokyo
Jocelot Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 Give the people what they want, Daisuke. Give us #Reload Eddie.
4r5 Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 I wouldn't mind never having to deal with invulnerable summon attacks ever again.
Casper Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 looks like some videos already got taken down. hopefully someones been saving them!
Kyosuke Kagami Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 Let Zato sama~ rest in peace, bitches Also, no thanks, i don't want more corner 100% combos
ElvenShadow Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 Sym, I don't think Millia can ADC her j.D It's strange. It feels like this game is simpler and more complex at the same time. Compared to +R, almos everyone feels more raw and basic and tools in general seem more nerfed and less abusable. At the same time, everyone got new personal tools and it is still early to say how good they all are yet. But with the new RC system and blitz shield, there are so many new possibilities. The game certainly feels like a new experience for better or worse. Overall I like the game so far and I think most of you will too.
4r5 Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 What I always liked about the older GG's was that they gave each character just enough to make something, but it was up to the player to put it all together. I mean, there were character imbalances and deficiencies, but that's what they were going for, and I really like that.
LeonD Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 looks like some videos already got taken down. hopefully someones been saving them! And I have already done so! Hopefully I could reup these vids!
Kurushii Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 I been downloading and already uploaded to my server for storage.
LeonD Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 Hey guys.... how 'bout givin our hero Aristobule ANOTHER badges? He has done so much for us!
RoBoBOBR Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 (edited) Concerning the damage, it's probably not because this is a loketest. Of course, proration may still be in and/or they could add some other form of damage scaling down the road, but for now, there's little reason to think the damage will change in the final build. The fact that they now only show guard gauge above zero values doesn't imply that it never goes lower then that, and thus provides no scaling. I think scaling's still in, they just don't want to confuse new players with pointless gauges (and guard gauge below zero provided very little functionality). Upd: just checked, and indeed scaling is in. Sol did combo WT, jK, jD, JC , jD and second jD did less damage then first. Edited November 6, 2013 by RoBoBOBR
HeatEXTEND Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 I have a question guys That stuff looks expensive :[
Aristobule Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 Hey guys.... Thanks but i only do it to give back to the community ! That stuff looks expensive :[ Yeah its around 200$... that why i wanted to ask the community but even with the signed art book people seems not interested ^^; Maybe if i post on several website i will have more people even if i can collect only 100$ i can have the camera and that will help me a lot.

Destin Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 Dude, not touching #Reload I-no ever again :-( Levels of yuck and sadness. Here's hoping Xrd I-no doesn't get bopped... Hahaha, this ino looks very very #R. With the vertical chem love.
Hecatom Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 Compared to +R, almos everyone feels more raw and basic and tools in general seem more nerfed and less abusable. I'll be honest, the bolded part annoys me like you don't have idea, it screams SF4 and that is something that i don't like I don't doubt that the game would be fun to play, but after AC and +R (which many of us still have not played because for some reason the psn update is still missing ) going back to reload as the foundations for Xrd feels like an unnecesary regression, they are throwing a lot of progress that made GG one of the best fighting games of all time for what?
SoWL Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 It took me this long to notice that the "Currently in loketest" signs are gone from all the stages. Too bad, that was a nice touch. And Potemkin still has the heart effect on Heat Extend, even though he wears mecha-gloves.

Because from what I understand, a chunk of the design team (including daisuke) was only active up until #R with another team taking over to milk out the franchise. Now that some of these key members came back they want to work off the version of the game they created, rather than an offshoot created by a second team.
