It's kinda hard for me to imagine what baiken will be like in xrd from a combo perspective without j.d or tatami frc.

in reload you could do her dust combos wo using frc's. ..so who knows...and that's to say if she even makes it in xrd lol

Baiken counter YRC before the hit would be way too good.  I would poke, block to avoid the counter, then she would YRC throw. ... Unless it really is as slow as Teyah implies.

 

I really hope if dizzy makes it in, she doesn't get fish yrc.  That would be way too good.  Ice spike and Spear would be okish, but fish would be too much imo.  Other than that she would likely transition into the game well.

I agree with the Zato-1/Faust ranking from my vid watching experiences. I'm  a little surprised not to see Axl at A-tier, though. Do most characters have good answers vs. the Lame Flame Chains?

This is what I'm thinking too. She doesn't seem all that good to me, but what do I know, less than Ogawa that's for sure.

Im pretty sure that the stance chains are easy to interrupt. Especially since the chains have hurt boxes themselves it looks like

I personally think that i-no or venom are better than may, but the changes in xrd seem to have made her a weaker character mix up wise. I haven't played it, however, and Ogawas tier list seems pretty balanced anyway

From full screen, stance chains are anything but easy to disrupt. And yes, the chain is vulnerable from its starting point to somewhere past half its reach, and all characters have answers to it, but few characters can touch it without risking getting womped for 30%. Against the chains, I think Ky, Faust, Millia, and Chipp have the best tools, I-No, Ramlethal, and Venom have decent options, but everyone else struggle pretty hard.

How do Chipp and Milia have options against Axl's chain stance?

They both have projectiles, and they are very mobile, thats one

I never found mobility to be useful against his stance chains honestly, they seem to be really strong at controlling space from what I've seen.

And yes, the chain is vulnerable from its starting point to somewhere past half its reach, and all characters have answers to it, but few characters can touch it without risking getting womped for 30%. How do Chipp and Milia have options against Axl's chain stance?

I'd think Chipp could just teleport in. idk what Millia can do though, tandem top? hair pin? both seem bad. I imagine if for some reason secret garden was already out that would be great, but the startup is way too long to throw it out in response to the stance.

Yeah I was actually wondering about that, If Bedman's teleport ball hit Axl's stance chain, does Bedman teleport to where the ball was hit or does he teleport to Axl? Or does he not teleport at all.

Chipp's teleport H puts him right above the chain stance blind spot. Millia has SJ double airdash and SJ hairpin.

I don't think the Teleport ball goes at a steep enough angle to truly abuse the stance chains at far range, IMO.

im not too sure, i would think ball would get eaten and youd just get a seal. projectile to projectile clash is no teleport, just get a seal.

you're more than likely right, i am probably recalling wrong. probably was above TK height.

Well, I just watched the Roi vs Fab best out of five "final" match.

 

Goddamn.  That hurt.  Roi was freaking on fire (like holy sh!t), but man I hate seeing FAB lose, though he freaking tore Roi up in the second match.

 

I'm not one to "seriously" complain about balance and all that, but when Sol can do 2-3 Fafnir's IN A ROW and still be in range while Pot gets pushed out after like 3-4 BnB hits, then I get salty.

 

And then you have the fact that Sol can actually capitalize off Fafnir's tumble-effect, while Pot's 6H just blasts the other guy out of his range.

 

That said...

 

GODDAMN THAT WAS ENTERTAINING.  First pro match I've ever caught live and it was so hype.   :yaaay:
