@ElvenShadow: It was in one of the Youtube Mikado vids posted a few weeks ago (it's on Youtube, you'd have to watch a few vids to find it)... heck if I know which one (it was a long 30+ minute one a Chipp player on May's stage I think he IK'd Ramlethal but I barely remember)... the YRC from the Air throw slowed him down, he lands, then does his IK stance, then goes IK.

@SoBa: I've never seen anyone pick that Arena stage and I can't be sure if it's Zato's default stage either (even if he's from Spain).  If you have a video that shows the globe image in it, I'd like to see to be sure.  I heard that stage was only available during special events (tournaments, etc).

@Clousephinat: I'm just as surprised about it as you are regarding Slayer's villa being in England.  But if that's what the globe says I can't argue. It's a Villa so it's probably his summer home or something (being a rich dandy and all).

I like how most people's stages are so lively in the background. You got guards in Ky's army menacingly gripping swords, jellyfish pirates loitering around the mayship, and people with bags on their heads riding floating chairs (?).

But not Milia's stage. There's just a bunch of dead bodies in her's.

I like how in every fighting game ever, the background characters are all, "yeah! kick his ass!", and cheer whenever somebody gets hit or dies.

And then in Xrd, every civilian goes, "holy shit, who are these weirdos?"

Chipp can IK off RC air throw? I've never seen that before. Got a link to the vid where you saw it?

Yah but he could have only done it because she was already in hellfire mode, i dont ave the link, sorry

It's not anyone's default stage, you have to choose if through stage select. But yeah, plenty of the more recent vids have used it.

Ooooh, interesting! When it comes to announcements to things that interest me, I like the word 'various'. Can't wait. Is a Famitsu or whatever magazine releasing next week?

Barring Japanese holidays, Famitsu is released every week. So yeah, I'd expect some goodies come our way on Wednesday, maybe even tomorrow if the leaks get through.

man you can really tell when comparing Chipps...

ACR is just delightfully faster than this game  :gonk:

this game is newer, visually stunning, and might achieve unseen levels of hype for American GG, but... but

the old game is so much cooler to me  :gonk:

(then again, i only play GG for Chipp)

I had to squint really hard and pause a lot for this one...

[None] Arena (Rome, Italy)*

(If it was Spain the marker would not have been directly above Africa's curved coastline).

*Note that this stage has to be selected and isn't associated with any characters.  Also during the "Duel __ " text phase of the start of most fights, the name of this stage does NOT appear.

Don't really know how Famitsu works but shouldn't it be next Tuesday since they said "next week"

Well the tweet was written on Saturday, so I believe that they meant this weak that's going on right now.

Ugh.  Sorry if this is off-topic, but does anybody know why ASW stopped using Aksys for localization?  I thought handling that stuff was sort of the point of Aksys being formed in the first place.

Aksys is a completely entity from Arc System Works, ASW is a japanese companies that does games, Aksys is a USA company that handles localizations of different japanese games like the ones made by ASW.

My guess is that perhaps there is less costs for ASW on doing the localization themselves than allowing Aksys doing it. That and/or ASW wants to have more control on how it is done

i would imagine next week on saturday constitutes as this week, yes, especially since famitsu comes out on fridays.

Release date would be nice. For JPN and NA. So I know which day to book off work. Haha, jk. (not really)

According to my erm... "sources", we might see a world-wide release this time around.  Probably October-November-ish (barring delays).  September if we're lucky.

Yes, the game is probably going to feel a bit slower to most people who try it for the first time, but honestly I think most people will get used to it like I have.  It doesn't feel any less deep or anything.

One of the super desperation radio guys who went to E3 said the arcsys rep at the booth was claiming there would be an adjustment in game speed for the console release. You heard anything like that?

"Guilty Gear Xrd – Sign – is going to feature some new gameplay mechanics non found in the previous entries of the series, like the Dust Attacks, launcher attacks that deal low damage but perfect for starting a combo. Following the attack, players will have the choice of dashing toward the opponent or do a homing jump and start the combo."

So, the writer of that article's never play Guilty Gear whatsoever apparently. Sin sounds super gimmicky though, hope he'll be fun at least. Maybe he'll have that RESPECT Meat Bun.

Maybe?  The problem is, is that their localization jobs are worse than some of the most niche games here.  At some point you have wonder if it's really about the price.  Business don't always make decisions based off money, for better or worse.  I really wonder what the full story is.

I have to disagree, as I've seen worse *coughcoughstrangelycompellingcoughcough*

Sweet, so Sin officially confirmed. His mechanics seems weird from that brief description but I can't wait to see how it pans out. Kinda reminds me of Hakumen's gauge mixed with, I dunno, Order Sol?

Still, hype. Can't wait to see Sinz in action!

Sin reminds me of Toshiie from Sengoku Basara, especially since they both fight with polearms. Wonder if that's all we get this week.

Never heard that before.  I hope not.  I don't want the console version to differ from arcade.  I am hoping for an exact port with the exception of additional characters and non competative vs mode game-play changing add-ons like enhanced training mode, more colors, new stages, etc etc.

Also, yay for Sin.  Not at all surprised but I know nothing about this empty stomach thing.  I never even played Overture due to never owning a 360 so I will just wait and see how he plays later.  Hopefully we get more characters too.
