Blade Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Regarding the difference between making a character and making DLC, it probably takes longer for both than they hint at it, because of the visuals and artistic touches they want to put in everyone. They're not going to pull a Capcom on us, they're too smart for that (they'll at least be honest about what is DLC with full disclosure). The way I see it, this is just the GG roster for Xrd... we'll see the GGX cast a while later, then Isuka/Slash/GG2 casts later on. Chances are they want to showcase the new blood before the old standbys return, so that's a consideration for matchups too. Personally I hate to think in terms of competitive game-life, but once things start slowing down and people invest less interest competitively in this first run they'll probably add more to the game to spice things up and keep people chucking quarters (or should I say swiping IME cards?). As for Costumes and such... I already said my wishlist a while ago but here: --GG2 Crimson Jacket Sol / Scientist Frederick with a giant Cigarette --GG2 King Ky --May in that "Western Pirate" outfit (from the 2007 artbook) --Chipp's "Butterfly and Her Gale" outfit --Classic Millia (from GG1 or GGX, optional hood) --Zato in his ballroom courtier outfit (from Night of Knives) --Slayer's Military Outfit (from VastEdge) --Venom's White Business Suit (from his GGX ending) --Bedman in Pajamas (or a racing suit with the bed made to look like a race car). --Faust with an Afro / Disco Suit. --Classic GG Potemkin (or his black ops outfit from GGX artwork) --"hot pants" I-No (from GGXX art) or the "phone booth" outfit from one of the CDs --GGX Axl (or Axl in his jean shirt/pands with a guitar on his back with no head wrap) --Ramlethal in her new MAID outfit (gosh that will look cute) --El in GG2 Valentine outfit (why not? they look similar) --Sin in his "teenage shorts" outfit with slightly longer hair.
Coffeeling Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Classic Potemkin. Baldhead Faust. Overture Sol and Ky. Anyone with anything Ishiwatari designs would rock! Ishiwatari designed Bedman. Capcom's moto: " No mater how shitty costumes we make, people will still buy it . . . (Evil laugh) " Also limited edition is up for pro order on Amazon Jphttp://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/aw/d/B00MHKH5KE/ref=redir_mdp_mobile?ref_=pd_zg_rss_nr_vg_videogames_6&tag=shop09cb-22&utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=dlvr.it It's kind of sad how the game that gets most attention and sponsorship and whatnot overall is a sloppy, bug-ridden mess.
Blade Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 I'm sure Bedman will get more interesting as the story progresses. First impressions aren't everything. Though I do agree that Capcom games get Waaaaayyy too much press for their quality (which they don't deserve).
SoWL Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Hats do bring fame and fortune, just ask Millia. Dizzy without a whore outfit. Whoah there, no nudity please.

king of heart Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 I don't know what to do, I already missed the amiami boat but I want to wait and see the preorder bonus. The Sol figure that will be released around the same time is more worth it. December gonna be a hard month for my pocket!
LeonD Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 (edited) Sorry for the dumb question: Who's El? If I remember correctly, she's a boss character in GG: Dust Strikers. Edited August 15, 2014 by LeonD
destruction_adv Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 If I remember correctly, she's a boss character in GG: Dust Strikers. that's Gig
Calamitus Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 If I remember correctly, she's a boss character in GG: Dust Strikers. What? Gig is the boss of Dust Strikers. El is a new NPC in Xrd.
Aze Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 What is this symbol? Apologies for the potato quality youtube screenshot.
Mumm-Ra Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 It means you got a medal, some sort of achievement/thropy for doing something like blocking a burst or a dead angle, doing x quantity of damage, etc.
king of heart Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Yeah you collect them after the match. They are Bronze, Silver, Gold, Red. Red ones are super extremely rare.
Henaki Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 i asked this elsewhere, but didnt get a response: does anyone know if you can purchage digital games from other regions on ps4?
Kyosuke Kagami Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 i asked this elsewhere, but didnt get a response: does anyone know if you can purchage digital games from other regions on ps4? Theorically, you can. I've accessed the JP Store from my Ps4 using my JP account. I don't know how this would work for DLC, though.
SolxBaiken Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Same situations as PS3s: Do PS4 games have regional locks? In general, neither digital nor disc-based games will be region locked, but PlayStation recommends that all users purchase games at the region of their residence to guarantee the best overall experience and customer service. In certain instances, a software publisher may choose to region lock a game title for specific reasons, but Sony Computer Entertainment expects these instances to be uncommon. via PS4 FAQ
Henaki Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 thanks hopefully that means we can buy ps4 digital download on release.
TheRealBobMan Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 The PSN Store will match the region and language settings you use to make your account, which will apply for DLC. You'll probably have to log into your SCEJ or SCEH accounts to get DLC for games you bought using those accounts since the DLC usually matches the SKU of the product (meaning it'll be "different" DLC for each region even though it's the same product). Redeeming money on those accounts is more difficult than making an account. You have to buy the point cards at a markup or have a credit card with an address that matches the region. People have written guides on Dustloop so look those up if you need more information. Actually... if a game is region locked, I wonder if changing your system region would let you bypass that? Or maybe you can't change the specific region settings, but changing the language settings might do it. But yeah, you should have no problems recovering and activating your PS3 accounts on your PS4, so that would include any accounts for other regions that you might have. BUT!!! Remember that those accounts need to have their own PS+ for online play, now that PS+ is required for online multiplayer!!! So, if you want to get Xrd early (if it comes out later for US/EU), you'll either have to buy PS+ for that other region account too, or you'll just have single player stuff and local multiplayer with no online play. Most people will be using local multiplayer anyway, but I don't want to see anyone complaining that "ArcSys screwed up the online play" when they can't use it on day 1 when they import with an alt account. Or maybe it'll work. I'm actually not 100% sure now that I'm thinking about it. Maybe you can actually use your US based account that has PS+ and get it to work. If someone currently has an import of some other PS4 game that has online play, it'd be great to have them test that to verify. I might be able to ask someone that would know more about this on Monday if no one has an answer before then. I'm 100% sure you can't use an account that doesn't have PS+ and play online just because you happen to have another account with PS+ on your PS4, but I don't think you'd have any problem playing a game with another region's SKU with your US based PS+ account.
zdravkelja Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 Remember that those accounts need to have their own PS+ for online play, now that PS+ is required for online multiplayer!!! I think that doesn't matter. If it works like PS3,after you install the game you can play the game on whatever account you have.
Blade Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 @Kyosuke: El is the new face in GGXrd we've seen in recent famitsu scans. Ask Kurushii for a look at them. @LeonD: Don't ever answer GG questions ever again.
DeadlyCreampuff Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 But yeah, you should have no problems recovering and activating your PS3 accounts on your PS4, so that would include any accounts for other regions that you might have. BUT!!! Remember that those accounts need to have their own PS+ for online play, now that PS+ is required for online multiplayer!!! Actually they shouldn't. When I was porting my US and JP accounts to my PS4(EU is my actual one) a note popped up about selecting primary account. Reading through it it worded that all accounts can use the playstaion plus of the primary account on the console. I had a lok to see if it would let me downloade free games library but it didnt do that, so seems to be only the gaming. Of course, there might eb an exception made with multiregion acounts as they might have only had multiple accounts of the same region in mind, but its looking good. I dont have any multiplayer games yet to try it with yet though. Maybe I should get US version of injustice, it was only 30 dollars compared to the psplus discount price of 36 euros :3
king of heart Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 I am at club Sega Shinjuku Gazo Faust just qualified for Arc Revo at the after 1989
Kyosuke Kagami Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 >Remember that those accounts need to have their own PS+ for online play So far I've understood, that's not necessary. You can use JP games with your US account with no problems. Detail here would be the DLC. I still don't understand if it works like in PS3 (AKA all games and DLCs are shared between all the accounts on it) or you'd have to do some really stupid crap to make it work (like... logging in the JP account first, then switch to american one).
Uncivilized Elk Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 http://www.siliconera.com/2014/08/18/discussing-guilty-gear-xrd-signs-tech-daisuke-ishiwatari/ God I hope that crossover never happens. Team Red is the good team. I don't want it contaminated with Team Blue.
