king of heart Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Overdrives not good enough? Make them better too; have them deal minimum damage, for example. Make the player have to make choices in how to spend his tension without taking options away from the game. No please! no Blazblue mechanics at all!
D.R.F. Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Minimum damage=at least competent unburstable kill. Guts=negates all that and makes super hype last minute matches. Oh also makes game ridiculously complicated. :D
king of heart Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Thanks for translating that was a interesting interview. I kinda had a feeling they weren't gonna be bringing ALL the characters back, but I'm okay with that because I wanna see what other new characters they might add. I'm still hoping they decide to add Johnny and Baiken in the future though. During the interview Ishiwatari said that he is really sad that he dropped some characters for now and he will defiantly bring them all back if the Xrd series kept going.
king of heart Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Minimum damage=at least competent unburstable kill. Then just RC into IK
Hecatom Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 I still think that ASW should add BattleFantasia as a side tournament, and now that AC+R is being thrown away it could be a oportunity to have those two games as a smaller event
SoWL Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 No please! no Blazblue mechanics at all! Too late, the games already share lots of them (even if they originate from GG).
Rhannmah Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 No please! no Blazblue mechanics at all! >hurr durr blazbloo is the worst fighting game ever it suxxxxx XDDDD Honestly, when's the last time you've seen someone use a super in a combo in Guilty Gear? Yeah, that's what I thought.
shtkn Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 actually, ky does use sacred edge as a combo extension tool nowadays, especially with a seal in place
redsilversnake Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Overdrives actually are seeing more use in Xrd. I semi-often see Millia using 236236S for corner confirms or Chipp's rush super used to end rounds, for instance.
Skyheartxia Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 brb just gonna sit in my uncomboable overdrives corner (daisuke pls make Helios more than just a mashable reversal)
youcanwonder Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 I'll take bozac ' s words on it. From what I've seen the game looks great..yrc adds new elements and can prolly add a lot of gimmicks. (I say we game u guys a run for ur money in slash though bozac lol...good ol omaha Chicago rivalry lol) as too the other games mentioned..they are catered to new for new comers as well...though I do t like some of the features. .I like auto corrects and what not (for those who will say gg had autocorrects I've never seen them and I've been playing for years..u can't do a user one way and it automatically correct itself and turn the other...a different move comes out... (not an auto correct in my eyes)). Only thing now is a console release date...summer would be great but highly unlikely lol.
king of heart Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Too late, the games already share lots of them (even if they originate from GG). Not really Guilty Gear is Guilty Gear. Blazblue was based on some of Guilty Gear's mechanics but was tweaked over time.
Zombies8MyLeg Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 During the interview Ishiwatari said that he is really sad that he dropped some characters for now and he will defiantly bring them all back if the Xrd series kept going. Well that's some awesome news. I'd love to see the whole cast in Xrd.
destruction_adv Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 and Ishiwatari talking about Overture, particularly what inspired it (he's liked the RTS genre since around the time GGX came out) and whether he'd like to make another game like it (he says he's interested in doing so). Am I the only one who thinks this is good news (I actually liked Overture a lot)?
SolxBaiken Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 ARC MOBA incoming . . . But yeah Overture was actually fun and a nice distraction, I like when the series deviates from the norm, give me Isuka II and Judgment 2 while you're at it! .o.
Kitsoru Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Agreed. Since Overture had a limited roster and mostly new characters, I'd also love to see how other characters' gameplay plans could adapt for use in the Master combat system. Just picture, Iunno, Venom doing ball setups to hit multiple enemy units at a time or Chipp going in for hit and run kills on the enemy Master Ghost while his units take care of the nitty gritty. Could be awesome.
STenSatsu Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 ARC MOBA incoming . . . But yeah Overture was actually fun and a nice distraction, I like when the series deviates from the norm, give me Isuka II and Judgment 2 while you're at it! .o. SMITE style third person GG MOBA where we can do combos with the fighting system from Overture?! Would be kind of hilarious.
king of heart Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Overture had the best music Ishiwatari did IMO. I still think they should have reused many tracks from it.
Hecatom Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 I think that with the current attention that MOBA games are getting, a new Overture would get more attention imo. The game has a lot of potential.
Delrian Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Overture is cool, just don't make it 360 only this time.
Horokei Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Speaking about ARCMOBA: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4rQwE4PCRI
SolxBaiken Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Speaking about ARCMOBA: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4rQwE4PCRI >>No Baiken Get this shit outta here! But hey, it has Jam, somebody get Ama lol. Also ARC has allowed some of their characters [even Xrd incarnations] in Lord of Vermillion. ARC needs to stop making visual novel and get on the MOBA train! .o. Overture had the best music Ishiwatari did IMO. Certainly my second favorite soundtrack [with the first being Isuka].
