Acording to that list BBCP is is the most balanced fighting game out of all of them. But of course BlazBlue will never achieve perfect balance untill Tager is S-tier. :keke:

I hope Mori announces the PS4 version of Chronophantasma at Arc Revo. It would be funny if they also announce Jubei to be a PS4 exclusive charachter only lol

This list seems too good to be true. I just hope that when they patch the game again, it doesn't get worse.

That's because it is. The people who slapped that together are either delusional or lazy as hell.

Lol platinum as good as hazama

He will just laugh because he knows your fist just has more money in it.

What is this "Soul" you're talking about?

Got me there, plus he's probably already immune to spiritual offense after years of listening to fans rage about making Kokonoe playable.

On serious note tho, what is there to improve in CP to justify a release on a more powerful console? Laggy stages? Or because of the "wow new console much players" -effect?

What is this "Soul" you're talking about?

Everybody, even the Japanese, have a soul.

I remember Mori talking about having more than just 2 characters on screen at once when talking about available memory on the PS4. Maybe he wants to make BlazBlue's equivalent to Isuka...

Posted

Oh god no. Just no.

LOL. I was just joking. All we know about Mori's PS4 plans is that he wants to put BBCP on it with an exclusive mode of some sort. Any more is just meaningless speculation.

that would be terrible.. maybe a tag system? that could be fun if there are assists. moves that cover weaknesses. everyone would suddenly get an instant overhead or a staff.

Considering how easily the PS3 could display four BB character sprites at once, I'm still not convinced he wasn't misquoted on that.  That's not to say they'll never do some sort of tag team feature in BB, just that the idea they need to wait for a PS4 installment to do it is bull.

sorry for sounding like a broken record with this question, but is the 1.1 patch going to be released on the ps3 ports anytime soon?

Displaying 4 characters is one thing, having all the animations for all 4 of them buffered into memory and thus allowing them to fight all at once is another. I remember back when Mori did say that, people were citing Skullgirls as a reason for it being possible and Mori being a liar but Skullgirls uses lots of trickery with loading and unloading assets into and from memory to make it possible.

I wouldn't hope that the game is ever going to have just one tier, unless tier list makers get very lazy. The roster is way too varied to be on the same power level: even if all the cast is viable, some characters are going to have slightly more advantageous match-ups, even if it's 5.5:4.5. The reasons behind tier divisions are going to be much smaller, but they're going to be there.

This is sortof irrelevant though, and I kinda hate how it keeps getting brought up in discussion.  The idea behind balancing is NOT to make all matchups 5/5 - that's an impossible task, and I would think that would be obvious.  The objective of balancing is to match the matchup chart as closely packed as possible.  That means that if a character has a 3/7 matchup where someone stomps them pretty hard, they need to have some 6/4s or a 7/3 to compensate.  Some characters are going to win some matches. Tager is always going to be sad against Tao.  But he's good enough against some other characters, that means the game is pretty close to balanced - so long as Tao is also weak against some characters.

While, yes, you don't want any extremely unbalanced matchups (honestly, even 7/3 is pushing it, IMHO), the idea is NOT to make them all 5/5.

Muh. Anyway, I still think that A) Kokonoe needs more nerfs and B) people don't understand how not good Tsubaki is. :P

I'm not sure I would call that balanced -- a game where everybody is half 7/3 and half 3/7, even if it's spread evenly. That's like a game where every character counterpicks everyone else. You either get demolished or steamroll.

Tiers that are based on match-up advantage tend to be the most accurate.

Yeah it would be good if the cast was balanced and viable, but only if it doesn't take away from what makes a character unique.  A matchup can be 3-7 for a character but so long as they can still use their tools or be able to use combos without issues.  It also has to be said that a character that zones versus a grappler is rarely if ever 5-5 unless a character's tools are weakened for some reason.

Having it balanced but then everyone having 4-6 or 3-7 match-ups would only promote counter picking to some degree.  Top Tiers are top because they have more advantageous match-ups than problem match-ups, people may not like that but that is why Tiers exist.

I would not want a fighting game that turns into Rock Paper Scissors counter pick mostly because that means that characters do not have tools do deal with match-ups.

I feel like this was said many times over for some reason...

Oh god no, after I work so incredibly hard to get Arakune into a corner, the last thing I need is Kagura or Ragna swooping in with "DRAGUN'S ASCENT" or "IN-FUR-KNOW DEEVIDA" respectively. (And it'd be safe too...) I would never stop crying.

Wtf. After looking up what that is, it already has a set release date for June 24th. Give it all the promotion, love and attention closer to that time... not now. It's BBCP's time to shine. Aksys, get that bullshit outta here and don't tease something happening mid-May and then ignore the thing we've actually been anticipating to come out mid-May. In fact, just stop teasing and say what it is.

Game company trolls, Jeez...
