Sounds like they were fixing something that wasn't broken CT nerf is meaningless. You could do CT > Taunt > OD > Combo, now you probably can't taunt them. So yeah, no (seemingly) meaningful buffs AND nerfs to a bottom-tier character. Way to go! Put Makoto in her place, that'll teach her to be crap!

Airk Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 As far as I can tell, they're ONLY buffing Bullet in this patch. Everyone else just gets nerfs or rejiggering. Super random, but hey, at this point, how well you did in this patch is more a question of "did you get serious nerfs, or just stupid nerfs?" instead of "did you get any buffs." :P

Hazama, Valk, Litchi and the rest of her bad matchups removed from the game. In other words, remove everyone from the game until Makoto is good, then remove Makoto. Be realistic. It's not like she's terrible, just honest. We've seen what happens when Makoto is grime. And this allows everyone else to get away with murder? She has the shortest set of normals in the game and above-average speed at best. What exactly are people scared of here? Even when she was broke, there wasn't exactly an easy way to mix someone up. It was just her damage that was over the top. She didn't need her already stumpy normals reduced in range along with her damage nerfed in EX. What I'm saying is, there's only been two extremes for this character and there's a definitely mid-point in balancing that ArcSys refuses to reach. But hey, what's another version of the struggle for the worst character in the game for what will be three games running? Edited March 6, 2014 by Yazumatto

About Kagura Seo said that he got nerfs but C moves recovery was decreased too. Some of his old combos won't work with 2DA change and decreased hitstun on DP.

Well, for stuff like backdash nerfs, it looks more like they are trying to steer the game in a different direction than just balance what's there now. Same with the negative penalty changes.

Tsubaki's overhead was fail against jumpouts (kinda still is because it's so damn slow, but whatever.) since they'd just tech and they did fix that with this patch. Anyway, CS2 Makoto is completely proof that all this crap about "Oh, character X will never be top tier because of their design" is garbage. Any character can be top tier if their moves are fast and lead into tons of damage.
