EDIT: Also, is there a place I can see the color palettes for the characters from Love Max? I know there was a wiki with one for OG AH3, but that one hasn't updated with the new colors.

Tigre Posted June 2, 2014 Author Posted June 2, 2014 Yes, you can lose and retry and still get the color. Parace is the 10th trial in trials mode, you need to play through it three times. Bronze is boss Scharl, Silver is boss Angie, Gold is Parace. She no longer loses health when you retry either, so you just have to go in. Thanks to everyone who tuned in yesterday! SoWL Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 The game arrived, and apparently, I did order the PS3 version, so I'm ready for hardcore online action! As soon as I adapt to the characters and the game, that is. I'm still choosing between Kira, Eko and Cathy, but for now, I'm spending some time with Kira in the lab. Is it just me, or is she more about the resets than proper combos? The only half-decent combo I found is 5A / j.D 2B 5C 623C into lightning super (sticking to that arcana right now), and that's only from a mid/overhead hit. Or maybe I'm just not used to this weird world of homing dash cancels.

I'm currently watching old combo videos and seeing how much carried over in my spare time, I can write a quick summary of the character stories since I can just turn on the vanilla and do a quick run in story mode or at least browse YouTube and hope for a translation. I wonder if I still know my password to my HomingCancel account? Was the whole UNIEL and AH3LM idea abandoned for this site or is it still up in the air?

Luckily, most of them seem to be arcana-universal, so it really is just me not being used to the local cancels (mostly the EF cancel, though homing cancel is tough, too). I'm still kinda iffy about Kira's mix-up game, though: she only has one low attack and no ground overheads, so it feels like she only gets the hits in when the enemy presses too many buttons. Then again, that feels just like most other grapplers in other games, and it's not like either player spends that much time on the ground to worry about ground normals - and Kira's aerial normals seem crazy good, with j.C having clash frames for hours and j.D having both frame advantage and a great hitbox. I'm probably just confused after playing Bullet so much and having trouble opening opponents even with three ground overheads and four lows

For longer combos, it depends on the arcana but she has many EFC combos you can do off of a multitude of situations. Her 5B is an overhead but not many people use it for that purpose since the floor is lava. You can hold it so it cancels for mixup purposes but thats about it outside of combos. SoWL Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 I believe I tested 5B in training mode and thought it's mid, but that's apparently because setting the dummy to all-block means that they don't even switch positions unless you say so. And I did notice the feint, yeah. Thanks for the vid, gotta check it out later. Anyways, what about Eko? Does she have anything for her other than the usual all-rounder routine? Her j.D is great, that much is obvious, but other than that, she seems like a slightly worse Heart.

Both last night and now I set it to find ppl with at least 2 bars connection and it gets nothing. Even when I set it to 1, nada. Either my connection is shit or I'm gonna have to wait til NA release at this rate to get a match on there lmao
Sadeyo Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I'm full of competition with a decent connection of 2s and 3s. Though I'll be saving those recordings until the weekend. For the love of god I wish Homing Cancel were similar to Extended Force Cancel or Rapid Cancel. That momentary pause or air dash messes up everything when you're trying to combo.
