netcode is really good in this game. im actually able to play with japanese players.

Um... is that sarcasm, or is the netcode actually that nice?

My main issue with the netcode is that it kinda lies about connection settings.  1 bar is unplayable. 2 bars are pretty bad. 3 bars are good(playable) and in the rare case you get a 4 bar, everything is smooth. If you run into a 2 bar connection and lower, prepare to eat a lot of un-reactable 4A+Bs.  My other issue is the bare bones lobby settings. You can't invite people into your lobby, which is really dumb. But other than that, I think everything else is fine.

with day 4. Selvaria's assist choices for me are Enju, Accelerator, Izaya, Alicia, Dokuro and Kojou,

Why:

Enju: Really good assist for fullscreen confirms and combo extender

Accelerator: Good counter (you can teleport towards and continue combo) and also really good at combos at any distance (like fullscreen 236a -> 6d -> 214[a])

Alicia: Good assist for okizeme and recovers even you have used her in combos.

Dokuro: Good zone and combo assist, you can continue air combos with 5d

Izaya: Good okizeme guard tool, if reversal hits or you manage to hit opponent, he proceeds and slash. Also good combo assist.

Kojou: Good assist overall. In 6D combos you can use power up burst and still continue combo.

Miyuki's inferno has so fast startup, it's almost amusing. I am able to punish things such as fullscreen support summons, to blocked (certain) trumps from the opponent or the recovery of (normally)unsafe fullscreen attacks (like all of Selvaria's ranged attacks)

It never seem wise to commit to any action versus Miyuki that stocked, anythign that has start up with out invul can be punished. Thank fully all her trump card can be back dash on reaction. not sure about Ex flacks though.

Yeah I haven't really found any reason to not use Alicia yet, I get the best damage out of her.

Accelerator is definitely the go to assist for everyone though.

The netcode is overall about on par with ArcSys netcode -- better in some ways, worse in others. The game fares worse online than an ArcSys game designed with netplay in mind, though, because 4A+B in even the slightest delay is a monster to react to (22f overheads with armor, RIP), and it doesn't have any of the buffer tricks that make BB/P4 feel smoother on netplay.

The only thing is that the bar ratings are pretty obviously not the same as an ArcSys game, so you've got to realize that before you start judging the netcode based on that. 4 bar on BB =/= 4 bar on DFC; the bar ratings are, how shall we say... somewhat more lenient here. A lot of people are getting 1 bars to JP, and I get a 3 bar to Kusa in Mexico (?!).

Yo. For you Rentaro players I have a random 50% combo. I didn't make much of an attempt to optimize it for less meter usage, but you can. Since I've recorded it, I've found a better combo route and other things but haven't had the chance to record them yet.

The connection rating in this game is flat out useless.
Game says I get 2 or 3 bar to Japan. I also get a 3 bar to Florida, and it was borderline unplayable. Looks like I need to only play in region. (In region seems to be stable enough to actually learn something)

The one thing with this game I have yet to experience is the desyncs I've been told about. I've played some fairly long sets with people in and out of the Northeast, and the worst I've had is consistent lag.

One thing I'd like to experience before I say this is worse or on par with ASW netcode is offline play. I haven't played enough offline to get a good grasp for how big the cancel windows are. In my experience games with large cancel windows (i.e. Arcana) are much easier to play online by virtue that you have a longer window to help compensate. There were times yesterday that I flat out could not get my CA to come out in combo, I don't know if it was the game dropping inputs or the cancel window though.

On another note, the jp wiki apparently has quite a lot of useful information concerning option selects for dealing with Guard Points. Can anyone with proficient jp skills please pull and translate this wiki for the English wiki to help spread this information?

I don't have the game yet, but I've been told by Wauhti that the netcode is good. His connections with Israeli players from Finland were much more smooth than in UNIEL.

Didn't see anyone talk about this here so in case some people don't know, we can record offline matches replays by pressing start at the rematch menu.

I just discovered this last night by accident and thought it was a pretty nice feature.  Does UNIEL have this and I just didn't notice?  The games seem to share an almost identical UI.
