Haha don't forget that these lists are from a Valk and an Izayoi player respectively.

I think that the trend with Terumi's placement is saying something though. Kagura's placent is probably a joke similar to when Tager was placed in his own special tier that transcended the graph some time ago for 1.1.

Hakumen bring B tier somehow doesn't upset me as much as I thought it would.

If Kagura, who is literally one of, if not the most poorly designed character in the game is God tier, I will be so sad.

Remember, nerfs and buffs don't give a single fuck about character design.

well at least hakumen being dead last again brings back memories

It'll be like CT from all those years ago, when all I ever needed was to land 5D and 5C enough times to kill something (you'd be surprised how easy it was to land that D-counter against Ragnas who couldn't fathom that it could nullify their 5B). Oh wait, I can't do that anymore since CP Drive counters suck like the unpedicured toenails of an ancient Valkyrie.

Honestly, I'm not sure what to think of CP2.0/Extend right now. Most of the stuff that interests me (like Celica, Lambda and Kagura) are utterly underwhelming while the select few dominate like it's going out of style. It leaves me in a very awkward position. I have no main and I must scream :gonk:

Oh right I need to translate. I'm saying that they're terrible to the point of where Hakumen's CT, CS/E counters all shake their heads in disapproval.

I'm going to play CPE for the tier list alone.  Seeing these (early) developments to the cast has captured my interest.

I was just wondering if there was some sort of precedent for old toenails being something that "sucks".

I honestly believe Lambda was added to the game purely for aesthetic reasons.  Aside from keeping the character select portraits symmetrical, Lambda's inclusion gives CP2 the feel of being a dream match title, even though it's technically canon.  The fact that EVERY playable character from every version of BB is included in CP2 is a nice selling point, even though Nu and Lambda have been wholly interchangeable up to this point.

Mori explicitly stated in an interview that Nu was split because players found CP Nu to be too difficult to manage ( :vbang: ) and they weren't willing to throw away Lambda's move set because a lot of people really enjoyed its playstyle. It seems they just dropped the ball a little bit in implementation. I'm sure they'll find their ground somewhere down the line with exactly what they want for the character.

"加藤 ニューは、“フェイスリフト”を使って、“ディアフォルマ”と“ルナフォルマ”というふたつの戦闘スタイルを切り替えながら戦うキャラクターでした。しかし、その戦闘スタイルの切り替えが操作難度を高くしてしまっていたので、ニューとラムダのふたりにわけようと。"

TL: Using "phase lift", Nu could switch between dia form and luna form while fighting, but switching styles that way ended up being quite difficult, so we split her into Nu and Lambda.

I don't know what Uma is thinking,

Whoah there, Kagura is far from being the most poorly designed character. They had a clear goal while designing him, even if it puts him in a pretty bad spot. Compare that to Kokonoe, whose design concept is literally "Let's give her everything, she's the child of the two greatest heroes on the planet after all".

You must have forgotten how many Nu players on DL itself were complaining about it.

It's specifically that inputting it was difficult. I think it took people a while to get used to having to mash buttons so fast basically.

Obviously they fucked up in CP2 but I don't think the nu, lambda split is fundamentally wrong. The core problem here is the usual arcsys problem, their balancing leaves something to be desired.

I just wonder how big the gap between S and A really is.  I appreciate that Dora's A is as crowded as it is, but I don't want to see the "Big 5" running the table either, especially since they're STILL the usual suspects.  He did say that he thought 2.0 was more balanced than 1.1, in terms of having more viable characters, but while he mentioned that the characters weren't listed in order within the same ranks, he didn't comment on how wide the gap between ranks actually was.  Granted, he speaks from the perspective of a player whose main has improved GREATLY in the update, but it's really nice to see some positivity about it, after all this talk of it being "unnecessary" and several top players, including our EVO champion, quitting entirely due to displeasure over changes.  I'm trying to maintain my optimism though, since I have a few things to look forward to myself.  (Nu and Lamda being separate, Noel buffs, Azrael's new corner game, Makoto being a character again, and perhaps a more interesting Kokonoe, despite her having less options on the whole.)

I agree. Like Mac said, it's not hard to look into the Nu forums and find a large amount of people who disliked the CP Nu playstyle. This eventually led to a great deal of players dropping her and that's an obvious sign to Arcystems that maybe they should do something. I think the split will satisfy some players, but it will take some time for them to balance out and differentiate the two characters. It's a shame for the some of us that really enjoyed the CP version, but it's not our game and we can/will adjust accordingly.

Next game, they should bring in Pachi for balancing :V

What? You don't like how Yuguchi and Katou have been handling things since CP1.1?

Don't matter anyways, Mori will still be given credit for everything. Just like how BloodWolF gave Mori credit for Katou's quote.

Also, Pachi is nerfing Ramlethal while keeping Faust strong, he can go die in a fire for all I care. Kappa

You are correct. My apologies. Dealing with the Kanji of names is a pain in the ass, but nonetheless, it was a mistake on my part and I should have looked more closely to the source. I'm just so used to him being the target for interviews.

I see absolutely nothing wrong about this.
