  1. I actually think Leo is a member of the Holy Order, as well. Not only because of the context he appears in, but also because, well, a lion is a common symbol for God (and kings, which makes me associate him with Ky). I then thought that he's one of Slayer's old friends, but if he is, he's not on that AC ending picture (and that one's not canon, anyways).
  2. We already got a tank, though: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merkava
  3. The trailer confirms that, as well. Now, any idea who was speaking in the trailer around 1:18? Doesn't sound like any of the playable characters. One of the Senato, perhaps? Not sure about the one at 1:30, either. Oh, and since Mother apparently "made" Valentines, I'd say she's more likely to be Aria now.
  4. Indeed. I haven't been this hyped about a simple background since BBCS Ronin-Gai. Too bad most of the fights (both online and offline) are going to be held over the boring tournament one. Elphelt's bounce does not even bother me: in fact, I find it strangely relaxing. Skullgirls is a valid comparison in that it didn't bother me that much there, either.
  5. Combos stop working and people have to look for different ones after pretty much every single expansion out there (except for maybe CP 1.1, because the bulk of its changes concerned only the DLC chars). Just because old combos no longer work in 2.0 doesn't mean that people won't find any new ones, maybe even surpassing the old ones in some aspects (ask Hazama about how he seems to be screwed up hard after every loketest and still coming out on top). Now, making important tools weaker is a different matter, even if those tools were not intended to be the character's strong point. In GG, Anji wasn't really supposed to be all about butterfly pressure, he was designed around the guard points. Yet ASW didn't cut it altogether in AC, they just made the overhead butterfly cost meter. They realized that the way people played him was different from what they expected, so they just gave a slight nudge towards playing him with a different playstyle in mind instead of taking away the toys everyone got used to. When Kagura was first revealed, no one expected him to be about the orb oki: he was the first proper charge character of the game with various stance mix-ups and ridiculous range. Nerfing the orb might make the players pay more attention to his intended playstyle, but if other characters can do the same thing he does, but better (Hakumen, anyone?), then why bother?
  6. Feint 3C and block? Pretty much every single move in the game is minus on block, so I wouldn't be surprised that people can DP after blocking 66C/3C. If they're blocking it, do something different.
  7. His own fault for Cloud being his favorite character CP Nu was 1.5 characters, now she is all alone.
  8. Personally, I'd rather have a rule against watching proper porn rather than watching anything that's simply porn-based. ef is a good example of a show that might have some sex in it, but that's as pure as the driven snow. Ahem. Videogames!
  9. Ah damn, I was too slow. Is it gone from all regions? Maybe I can still get it from JP PSN.
  10. Yeah, I've heard about it while learning Platinum, at the very least. Maybe it's just that Souji didn't know about it? Or my moonspeak skills are so bad, I mistake "like" for "unlike"
  11. You only want the corrections, right? I can translate the rest of it, though I don't think there will be any differences. Any double-checking is welcome.
  12. I think I got it. I still drop it in 3 cases out of 4, but at least I recognize my mistakes to work on them (I basically input [6]4B or [2]8B too early and don't hold 9 early enough during the flash kick combo). I simply use the A+D shortcut instead of the A button whenever I hold B or C. Since B and C buttons are close enough, I can easily piano them with a single thumb (so for the 2[C] 2]B[ part, I put the middle part of the thumb down, then raise the tip). Maybe it's just because my fingers are long enough. I was afraid that A+D would cause some accidental D actions, but you won't perform a throw as long as you're in midair or crouching, and if you perform a special, it will take priority over a throw or Shield. You're safe from any accidental Assaults, as well, since you're holding down 9 by then, and Assault requires a separate directional input. The only thing you should be careful about is CS (especially in the j.A [8]2A part of the combo), so try not to mash the button too hard.
  13. Don't see any console-exclusive chars there, though it did take me a while to recognize Taiga and Yukina.
  14. I'm in the process of grinding down some combos, and it feels amazing to combo two Fragments in a row on pad (I didn't even have to remap any buttons!). However, I still don't understand how I'm supposed to combo the laser into flash kick: if I turn the stick from 3 to 1, Vatista does not shoot the laser, but if I turn it to 4, then she shoots it just fine. And of course, if I try to charge the flash kick after the laser, there's no way for it to come out in time. Feels like I'm doing something fundamentally wrong here. I'm also having some problems with flash kick CS combo, but that might be just because I'm tired: I did it from, like, second try, but then spent about half an hour trying to do it again and failing miserably. Still, I'd appreciate any tips on this one, too. I'm referencing these combos, by the way: http://wiki.mizuumi.net/w/Under_Night_In-Birth/Vatista#Midscreen_Combos
  15. We know the JP version's release date and don't know it for the US version, that's it.
  16. I'll be surprised if they never make any balance changes, but doing it right before a major tournament is probably not a good idea.
  17. Yeah, sounds correct to me. At least it all makes sense after seeing it in-game.
  18. There are no invul frames listed on it in the frame data. However, it doesn't list any for 5D, either, and I'm pretty sure it still has some.
  19. Oh man, I didn't know I want this, but I do.
  20. My main gripe about DLC characters is that they make organizing tournaments a pain. Characters like Sin are even worse, since you actually can unlock them for free, but it requires time (or money for the unlock code, but why would you spend money on a free character?). Just make him unlocked by default, dammit! I wish we still had hidden unlock codes in games.
  21. Elk, I don't really want to argue with you (mostly because I don't think this topic is worth arguing about), but I can at least apologize if I misunderstood your post. My line was mostly in response to this one: Now, since this thread moves relatively fast, I can't remember what every single participant of the discussion has ever said. Which is why I didn't know whether your boob window problem is the only point you don't like about an otherwise fine design, or it's just one of the many gripes (as that post didn't really have other comments about her design, just gameplay). Most people usually hate character designs in their entirety, so I paid more attention to the "new trend" part of the phrase than to the "soured by fanservice elements" one. And for that, I apologize. In any case, I understand your stance well now, and since it doesn't seem like you're going to change it even if we do get some justification for certain elements of El's design, I see no point in arguing about it any longer. Good day.
  22. One thing for sure: I'm looking forward to Ishiwatari's comments on designing all the new chars. That person just doesn't do anything without a good cause, so calling El and Ram "Nothing but fanservice" is a bit hasty.
  23. Just because she becomes deadly at close range (which shotgun kinda is) doesn't mean that she can't fight with it from afar, and Ishiwatari deserves to die of shame. For comparison, here's a different translation from Tumblr:
  24. We already got a genuine I-No, why make another one?
  25. I was talking about how DFC and Xrd were supposed to come out on the same month, but then they decided to delay DFC so they don't compete with each other too much. And I have seen some arcades with no occupied Xrd machines, while the DFC ones had some action going on around them, so yeah, I'd say the game's doing pretty well so far.
